  • I believe I missed the part about how you attached the flowers and fairies to the clear springing paper. I tried this once before and used red liner tape and it failed after a couple of days, so please give me some tips on this issue. Also, your project turned out amazing and of course the paper is beautiful, but more importantly it was engineered perfectly with all of the envelopes, measurements, hinges, springs, and attention to detail on all of the ephemera. Bravo and thank you for sharing!

  • @alteredannie : Hi there, well, i think i did end up using either red tape or glossy accent (i have so many adhesives, i keep alternating them i cant remember which i used for which parts) However, when you glue, make sure there is good amount of paper or good amount of space where your fairies or embellishment are stuck on the transparency clear acetate, so theres enough stickiness. Thanks so much for watching.

  • @esthercraft

  • Hello, I just love ur box it is so cute. I'm going 2 try 2 make my first 1, I hope it comes out good. I need 2 know wht was the name of the clear thing that u use 4 the flying fairies. They might not know what I'm talking about just in case I 4 get the name. If u tell me then I can write it down. Thank u so much 4 the info.

  • OMG,it is so cool.you are good in art! :D

  • This is a great tutorial! A beautiful explosion box!!! And you are a treat to listen to. :)

  • @mariesporrong : Your too sweet... thanks for your comment, and am glad my accent does not put off viewers.. hehhee

  • Thanks for the wonderful demo. You got great ideas that inspire me!!

  • I absolutely love this box and want to make one for my daughter's birthday using some Webster's Pages papers.

    Two questions:

    1. I understand how to make the base of the box using the 12X12 cardstock but I am not sure why there are hinges? How are these cut...to what size and why are they needed?

    2. I can't recall seeing any dimensions or instructions on how to make the lid...would you mind quickly explaining how to do the lid?

Thank you for sharing your amazing talent and for helping out!!!

  • @CreativityWithStamps : Hi there, Thanks for your questions... i try to answer below

    1) Hinges are optional, as i was afraid my cardstock paper fibre might be flimsy i added more paper to make the hinge more durable. As i was adding Fence, Flowers, Grass, so it be really heavy. Hinges are same length as your Box flaps x 2 inches. Score it in half, so you can place over the hinges and flaps of boxes. to ensure durability of the 4 box hinges.

  • @CreativityWithStamps Answer to 2nd question. Is difficult to explain in words how i did the box top. But is the Exact same technique you use to making the paper box. In youtube you can search how to make paper box or gift box. there should be dozens of tutorials on showin you how to make the boxes. I had the help of the Ulitimate Crafter's Companion to help me in making the box, so i dont remember the exact measurements. BTW i dont recommend the Crafter's Companion. PM me 4 further questions

  • Hello

In the video you say that you added more card stock for teh box hinges, do you mean that the added card makes the box sides 6 inch squares?

  • The video goes quite fast when explaining about th base, could you please go through tthat again......the dimentions of the hinges, please.

  • @25664940 Hi there, if the video is too fast, you can pause so you can read the comments.anyway what i did for the base of the box is taking the 12x12 inch paper and then for each of the four sides i scor at 3 inches. This will leave you a BOX DIMENSIONS of : 6x6 box in the middle and the 4 flaps of the box will be 3x3 inches.

The smaller Mariposa box measures at 3.5inch x 3 3/4 inch x 2 inch depth.

  • oh wow!! I missed whose paper that you talked about in final seconds. But I adore your selection. MY TASTE EXACTLY!! so precious. You are so so soooo talented. What type work are you in? You must be in a creative line of work. I was a florist for 30 yrs and surely would have loved having you work with me. You are the greatest!!

  • @1sweetbonbon Hi there bonbon... what a cute channel name, the papers are from Once Upon a Springtime by G45 which i got from bluemoonscrapbooking, i put their website link in description box.
