@2dittoz Good combat + deep story = better game than some explore 'em up with cheesy characters, pitiful gameplay and bad stories. However, I will give credit to some of the dialogue, which was better than the shit of Skylanders. Ripto's Rage's bosses were also better than Skylanders.

I like the story of the new games, but the old ones are more fun to play. So it's story vs. gameplay. The writing for sparx could be better, but other then that, I like both versions of the game.

I love the orginal series, Enter the dragon fly I avoided all together after seeing it's erm.... "performance [glitches]" on the ps2, and Hero's Tail I traded in due to the very twitchy camera (made me feel ill)- this I should get into, I like platformers, I just avoided since Sierra was attached (We all saw what they did to the Bandicoot)

@sayastra I'd get it, it's an epic series. I love the TLOS series the most; although I will always love the original Spyro games. Enter The Dragonfly wasn't too bad; the glitches were hard to get past, but the game itself was beautifully designed (graphically). They should have waited to release it like they planned on doing...

@Echofrost12 I liked the originals the best.... got rid of Hero's tail and I wouldn't get touch the PS2 version of Dragon Fly if I was paid to.... The series looks okay, but it's the original Insomniac games that put this series on the map, and this (although interesting looking) isn't it. I would buy it mostly to attempt to fill the void- I still wish that Insomniac didn't sell off the rights to this character.

Maybe if we're lucky Insomniac will come back after the new game (which doesn't even have Spyro as the main character) comes out. I'll say that Skylander is rather suckish looking, and doesn't even have the original characters in it. Even Spyro isn't a main character anymore...

@FantasyHUN So you'd rather be a weak, simple dragon over a powerhouse with unique abilities. Self-destructive practices get you nowhere. This is Spyro. Spyro in this era was far better than the simple flame N charge BS. The gems are still there, just in useful form. Sparx is there too, except without the horrid "Bzzz" sound. Gameplay is more than platforming and exploration. Spyro should be held to a higher standard than reusing the same old and worn out gameplay. Spyro needed change.

The enemies in the old games were pathetic. 2 flames for Gnasty and he's dead. Come on. The new enemies are far more ferocious and cinematic. Just because it's not like what you grew up with, that doesn't mean it's bad. You whine about the life bar even. Common sense says life bars are a good idea. What is wrong with you guys?

@MihSixBiersack No, it's only for PS2, Wii and DS... There might be more consoles it's on, but those are the only ones I remember. The sequel called The Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon is for the PS3, though.

@wizardgirl810 David Spade did a decent job in a New Beginning, Billy West (Fry from Futurama) improved Sparx vastly and made him funnier, Wayne Brady (from Whose Line Is It Anyway) is definitely the best of the bunch.

i don't see what you're complaining about. I didn't enjoy sparx just going *bzzzbzbzzzzzzzbzbzbzzzzbzzbzz­* in the previous games.
