How old are you? the reason I ask is because I was already in college in the 80s and can honestly say I had the time of my life. I lived through the cold war when it was almost a hot war. I'm no worse for it and to be honest I miss the USSR. Sure made the Olympics more interesting. It was great. If you didn't have fun then maybe you were a little too serious for the times. :)

And as far as drugs being everywhere?  LOL, there are ten times more drugs now. Back then, the only people taking drugs were the inner city kids, where I grew up. The suburb kids drank, that was their thing. Now suburb kids are into all kinds of drugs, stuff we didn't even have back then. It was a much more innocent time. Today, EVERYONE is a snarky scumbag internet bad ass. LOL
