  • I love this. I'm curious, can you roll on a hammered dulcimer like you can on a marimba or other percussion instrument? Can you use different implements/hammers to achieve different sounds? Thanks. (:

  • I have raped the replay button on this!

  • this kinda sounds like something from the game "Shadow of the Colosus" on the PS 2.

  • All the people who disliked this are jealous of how well she plays and wouldn't recognize good music if it bit them in the face.

  • Was that a Faerie in the background, or just Brian Froud?

  • Thou hast made dulcet soundings, wench.

  • I am a wizard apprentice. Love these songs.

Good times, great looking clothes and people.

Great music. Times when values were laws.

I'm sure somewhen I've lived in somewhere like this.

  • @Zalamedas My friend, time in reality is a circle. You live all lives at the same moment and shift between parallel realities; you do this and visit the realm of faerie simply by focusing on the strings of a sound. Feel the vibrations of archetypes chosen for experiences of enlightenment. This earth is a masters training ground and illusion is the master teacher. What is hidden to remember? This is a game and 'we are all one.'

  • @mordsith05 Oh thank you so much! You really got me to see new points that I believe to be true.

  • severo casate con migo

  • Great! -- Love that costume too..

  • i was reading my wheel of time book and it's always mentioning the hammered dulcimer so i looked it up, glad i did you're really good!

  • Amazing composition! Love love love it!

  • This should have been in the Skyrim soundtrack

  • @HolyDiverII757 The song used to be in skyrim, then it took and arrow in the knee..

  • @HolyDiverII757 I used to play like her, but then I got an arrow to the knee...

  • @HolyDiverII757 someone call Jeremy Soule and tell him to put this in the next Elder Scrolls game.

  • @HolyDiverII757 The track 'Ancient Stones' on the Skyrim OST has a dulcimer in it :)

  • marry me?

  • I've never heard of this instrument... Wow I love it, that sounds so good !

  • nothing medieval about the hammered dulcimer, look at the fekkin thing could not have made that in the middle ages. the original dulcimer was a very small 4 stringed instrument and as for the costume, very nice though it may be it's clothing for aristocrats.

  • @vindicari What are you talking about. The hammered dulcimer originated from the Iraqi Santur some 2000 years ago.

  • @goshops you were around at the time to witness this of course, who mentioned the origins of the instrument? wiseass, i said the dulcimer she was playing was a modern instrument for too complicated to be medieval.

  • @vindicari A dulcimer isn't hard to make and with the invention of metal strings sometime in the 13/14th century, to think the hammered dulcimer was around some 6/700 or even 800 years ago isn't a far fetched idea. It was the hammered dulcimer that lead way to the piano and the harpsichord in the 15th and 16th centuries. People weren't mindless imbeciles banging rocks together sitting around fires. Yes, the dulcimer she was playing probably isn't that old but its origins are much older.

  • That song makes me feel like I've lived a lifetime, died a peaceful death, and let my spirit glide over green fields, watching with glee as other after me followed their own paths in life.

  • You are fantastic! Nice sound i love the medieval themes

  • Breahtakingly beautiful :D

  • beautiful

  • Can't wait for skyrim...

  • So, mevieval times were no so bad for humanity, i see

  • It sounds like that we need to save the world

  • what's the tune of this instrument? :D Can you send me a image wtih its scale please?? :D

  • Hammered dulcimer music makes me feel like I'm listening to crappy new age synth music for some reason.

I prefer the sound of the cimbalom.

  • I think the only thing that could make this more awesome would be an electric bass and guitar providing rhythm.

  • What hammered dulcimer brand/style are you using?

  • Hermoso, porque no es popular la bohemia?

  • Actually guys, Dizzi was the millionth viewer.. she gets to PARTY!

  • @TheKansasCowboy No, no Kansas stud! I would like to correct you. Do I?

Dizzy is not a "she". "She" is a "He". He is a male that is vulnarable enough to show "hers".

    Thank you for reading.

    Elton.

  • @elton9876

  • im a guitar player and i have to say..this is an AMAZING song, u dont have any sheet music somehwere, i would love to learn this song on guitar :O

  • The Hammered Dulcimer is one of my favorite instuments to listen to. I always look forward to summer so I can hear one at the Renaissance Faire by me.

  • in my favourite video!!!!!!!!!!!!! great!!!

  • I'm not your average folk groupie, old greybead/skinhead, but this was instantly captivating, quirky, original, different. I do prefer the medieval songs above all. Pity I'm nowhere near your live concerts as I'd love to tell you to your faces how much I've enjoyed listening to your CD. The Chinese are exponents of the hammered dulcimer, but twee sickly sweet tunes. May your musical careers go from strength to strength. Lovely.
