The reason I asked those 2 questions is because I was Catholic, and left due to very negative experiences. We never even opened a Bible in CCD, and were yelled at constantly instead of being taught anything. Also, there's a lot I don't believe in such as reciting memorized prayers, praying to anyone but God, bowing down to the Pope, etc. It's so different from other denominations.

lol - I did the whole church thing when I was 14. fortunately I managed to realise in time that noone really has any idea what any of it is about. Do you think letting someone get tortured is a sign of love? This is, afterall, what god does. if you don't do what he says, you get to spend eternity in hell being tortured, while god watches... and does nothing.

you need to make up your own mind on what is fair, just and honest for yourself. The important thing is that when you look at the bible, you assess it based on the only thing you can - your common sense.
The great philosopher, Betrand Russell, said: when studying a new philosphy, always ask yourself, what are the facts?
The bible describes in livid detail the facts about the christian god, how he punishes his own creation for the flaws he created - by burning and drowning.

@TheRealityofNature God gave humons a whole life time to love and believe in him so its not God's foult if you don't believe and love him its your foult he gave you a chanse so many times you just don't its from him thats what happened to me God gave me a chanse and i didn't wast it i went to church the following Sunday and it was the church #2 i was not able to go to church #1 cause of my brothers and then i move to TX and goes to church #3 and its better then church #1 & 2 together !!

Actually, if god made us, completely, including our ability to choose and think, why would he let us be punished when we figure out he is morally wrong?
The god of the bible murders humans - HIS creations that HE created with an ability to choose. Yet he burned them to death for not "choosing" what he wanted. So how is that love? how is that free choice?
Mahatma ghandi, one of the most beautiful people ever to walk the earth, is now being tortured...is that love?

Our God is greater and higher than all of us. We should wanna live our lives for him forever and always. He's the best thing that could ever happen to this world. He gave his only son to die on the cross for our sins. God's plans our higher than all of ours, his ways are truly the best for us.
