It's typical of American Airlines to treat their caribbean passengers like animals. Unless you're fortunate to fly AA to South America (Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires or Santiago) or Europe.
If I recall correctly, filming is not illegal...to a certain degree. I read somewhere that filming airline company employees is however illegal. And I am not sure if that is just a company violation, or a FAA violation.
Thats wonderful. AA employee tries to explain why a plane is late followed by threating to arrest passengers for taking videos. The plane is late and your all under arrest.
Well AA sucks and no wonder most of their planes are delayed or get canceled.
They have the most pathetic fleet of old aircraft in North America today and instead of investing in a new fleet AA rather spend their money on bonuses for the CEO and the management. AA today don´t care about the customers just about their money. AA is on a one way straight to hell right now and the CEO knows that but just trying to milk a few more millions out AA before it´s too late.
Look people ! Get over it ! I know and 8hour delay is a major pain in the ass BUT its not like AA wanted to cause hassle and upset to their passengers ! Thankfully planes are not allowed to fly unless they are in tip top condition and if ensuring safety means an 8hour delay ! Well so be it !
As a gate agent for AA believe me i'm gunna say that something is always BROKEN at the gate!! and they never ever try to asses all the problems and power outages we have! we need a union bad guys!!! oh yeah and she did a lovely job!
I have worked for AA for 20 years and have seen my share of flt delays ETC.
I crawl in the bellys to load and stack 100+heavy suitcases that wiegh between 50 and 70 LBS 5 flts a day.
Somtimes after loading the airplane, I have to offload all the same suitcases that I loaded. I dont complan!! even though I want to!! I just do my job and wish the passengers would understand its for their own saftey if the airplane does not go.
i remember my delayed for contenental..my dad nd bro nd i were planning to go our flight EWR 8:00pm to 10:00(pm) to sc nd it was raining so our delayed moved to 11 pm nd when we board we had to wait an hour in the plane!! the worst part is there were traffic(plane) nd we flew bout 12 ;30am nd made it around 2am we got to my fam house by 2 30 am it was a long night
Why is everyone so angry at her? Mechanical problems happen. Deal with it! Would you rather they fly you out on an unsafe aircraft? What she's saying seems perfectly reasonable to me.
you're completely right! I'd rather no to leave instead of risk to die!! Too many crashes happened because they didn't care of the aircraft's problem!
you should fly southwest because: - more legroom -having flight attendants smile at you --all leather seats -you can check in up to 2 bags for freegiving discounted flights but has great service -no hidden fees -this video is an un-funny joke -least complaints out of all other U.S. carriers - having most awards for being ontime You have not appreciated that -arriving to the destination on time or a few minutes early than other airlines - snacks, juices, water, sodas are free
Mmm, putting aside whether or not it is legal to film, here we have an excelent employee trying to help what is crearly and unconfortable situation, and yet there are so many people is this video not listening, making stupid comments and laughing- making it even harder to find a solution. Talk about the wrong crowd.
And they can not conviskate your camera! That is called stealing which is illegal and police or proffesional attendants can not take your camera. I watched a show about it, and stupid some people are.
Just to clarify, It is NOT illegal to film inside an airport - correct. However, filming and snapping shots of The Ramp Area, Alleyway, Taxiway, Runway, any tower/s and employees performing such job functions that may disturb privacy or security IS ILLEGAL.
Actually my dad is a proffesional news reporter and IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO VIDEO TAPE AIRPORTS! They just lie about that because airline people are paranoid about everything! And the economy wants us to think that. It is perfectly legal to video tape anything, except post it on internet or tv without the persons permission, unless you are not video taping them directly
Just to clarify, It is NOT illegal to film inside an airport - correct. However, filming and snapping shots of The Ramp Area, Alleyway, Taxiway, Runway, any tower/s and employees performing such job functions that may disturb privacy or security IS ILLEGAL.
it is not illegal to film in a public area, even if it is a high terrorist. The economy and the world makes us wan't to believe that and I read it in the Law book 467 By The Law.
It's not illegal to video tape at airports (I work at one). If you want to stand there at the gate and tape your plane you have every bleepin' right to. Some over zealous worker might tell you other wise. Look it up on the TSA website. You just can't video tape the security area.
REALLY??? I didn't know that, now I'm trying to think of when and how I heard that information. But for some reason I still feel paranoid to film in the airport because were bombarded with false information.
A couple of years ago I was taking pictures of Qantas 747s at LAX from T4, nobody gave me trouble - but at LGA I faced some heat. Depends on where you go.
wow people are bitches...i understand that it sucks when things happen that make u late...but thats life...sometimes delays will occur...if you don't like it then get an efffin refund and shut your mouth. they sounded like a bunnch of kindergarten kids instead of adults (the passengers did)...wouldn't shut up when gate agents were trying to give them info...then they say "oh nobody told us this or that. PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE. Anxious people at airports upset me.
They don't know how much the pilots and crews dedicate their live in order for these peoples well being and safety. If they didn't we would all be flying on pieces of shit.
thank you someone finally has some sense! "wouldn't shut up when gate agents were trying to give them info...then they say "oh nobody told us this or that. PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE." exactly!!!!
In my opinion, when there's a delay for an airline, I won't complain and it's best that no one does. If anyone chooses to do so like some people in this video, then they'd rather risk losing their lives than their own safety. Ridiculous.
You know, pilots and cabin crew have a maximum period of time in which they can work. For example 2 pilots have a maximum "On duty" time of 14 hours during the day and 12 hours during the night. If there is any chance that you might exceed that period of time, the crew should not continue with the next flight. I'm pretty sure that is what concerned the crew of flight 585, and i'm guessing they all had to wait for new crew to arrive. IT'S THE LAW, AND IT IS THERE FOR SAFETY :-)
tgv73, I understand there's a limit to flight hours, but I have a question. If there's only 24 hours in a day, then why did you state the limit was 12 hours at night and 14 during the day? That's 26 hours. Am I missing something?
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! I just hate the definition of "night time" in this bussiness. It depends on when you start your "On duty" time. For example, the law in some contries state that "night time" is when your on duty time considers at least 50% of the time between 9Pm and 6am. Truth is, i a bit complicated to explain... Trust me, when i say "in some countries", i'm definately not talking about the US. I'm pretty sure US law is a lot better and more specific :-)
this csa did an awesome job explaining and apologizing for the inconvenience. at least she's telling the truth. until the traveling public realizes how stupid, ignorant, and childish they all sound when they whine, bitch, and complain about a broken plane that they can't get on because they HAVE to get to work the next day or they have a cruise they have to get to, PLAN YOUR TRIP WELL IN ADVANCE. SHIT HAPPENS!! and until you know what it's like to do what this lady does, i'd suggest to shut up.

Pilot flight and duty limitations are:
Cannot be scheduled to fly more than 8 hrs in a 24 hr period.
Cannot be scheduled to fly more than 30 hours in a 7 day period.
No more than 100 hours a month.
No more than 1000 a year.
There is no differentiation between night and day for scheduling or limitation purposes.
Duty limitations are:
Scheduled for no more than 14 hours in a 24 hour period. Cannot be on actual duty more than 16 hours.
