I had to erase a thumbs down..Iraq did announce they were no longer going to use the US dollar as there oil reserve currency- I didnt think anything of it at the time. I dont remember if It was before or after 9.11 but had they done it, our currency would have taken a beating.

It's also interesting that if all debt were paid off by individuals and the govt., the dollar would probably have the same purchasing power as it did in 1850. It would be like there was never any inflation throughout all these years. The money supply would be reduced so drastically that a penny would be worth what it was a couple hundred years ago.
