@94syamim Nope. Howl's moving castle date from 2004, which is far from their first movie. Their first one (or the oldest I've seen) is Laputa:Castle in the sky which date from 1986. I recommend it highly, The quality of the story AND the visual are worth any Ghibli movie. (for any older movie, the oldest to date BEFORE the formation of Ghibli studio is Horus, Prince of the Sun (french title is this, couldn't find the original or english title)).

I am seriously in love with Howl. He is freaking anime eye candy, and the way he says, "That's my girl" is the most adorable thing I have ever heard. He can float me down to a bakery balcony anytime he wants to. As in, NOW. I <3 Howl ^^ i absolutely love this movie so much! i just watched it earlier today and it has become my new favorite movie along with Laputa Castle in the Sky. in my opinion this is a bit better than Castle in the sky although i love both. i didnt know there was a book (for some reason i always find the movie before i do the book) maybe i will read it now, it must be good since the movie was :) i have to read it now.

i read the book and saw the movie and have to say that I like Miyazaki's version better, and Mrs. Jones likes it too, or she wouldn't have given him permission to animate it. Don't fly into a rage just because it wasn't what you expected.

If you look closely at the ending credits, they gave credit to Mrs. Dianna Wynne Jones. So don't go so high and mighty here where everyone can read your comments when you don't get your facts straight beforehand.

I respect your passion for the book though.
