when i am using a laptop for this game i cant click things when i get to the menu. Anyone have any advice to fix that?

@DaveRavee Players can play Uruks, wargs and spiders in the MonsterPlay (PVP) area of the game. I think the original concern was that it probably wouldn't go over well to have a pack of orcs and spiders ransacking Hobbiton on a regular basis. :)

lol...the nasty little secret that you don't know about the game for all you NOOBS....is that this game has tons and tons of annoying stuns and cripples...EVERY FIGHT...you put up with this annoyance from lvl 1-65

Someone at Turbine has a huge hair up his/ her ass...and loves stuns and cripples and debuffs on your character....you spend the entire game in a gimped mode

You are never fighting at 100% when you engage any kind of mob in this game. Combat in this game blows horribly

The classes are: Wargs, a large wolf, Reavers, a melee type orc, Weavers, giant spiders that can have hatchlings, typically like the monster version of a loremaster, Uruk-Blackarrow, a Uruk'hai that uses a longbow, and a one-handed axe, Uruk War-leader, a healer and partially fighter, Defiler, an orc with the ability to fight and heal, a monster version of the Minstrel class.

It is great that you can play for free. Some options are locked for subscribers only but not found that much locked yet and i am at level 26 atm. I think they could make leveling a bit faster but its gd fun.

@11Cheesewaffles sadly no mmo is better than wow. regardless of what people prefer to play, wow just does the current mmo gameplay the best. thats not to say wow is good by any means just that mmo in general suck atm. the main reason being is that most mmo's copy wow but fall short, which is also sad because if they didnt they would probably be decent since it would be original.

at any rate, i would wait until guild wars 2 comes out, this mmo is original in its design and looks amazing so far.

Standard does not look bad btw.

@Zarzarcon The names they present are just guidelines but you can name your characters whatever works best for you... within reason :) As for memory, it runs fine on a Vista system with 3 Gigs. The real load is on the video if you go DX10 or turn the graphics all the way up.

@AnotherFanDubFan Theoretically, it is totally free in that you can DL the client and start playing for free....However....you will be seriously hampered. You only get 2 or 3 character slots per server and once you leave the Breelands, you will have to buy quest packs if you want to do the other quests in the game. You will also have to buy Moria and Mirkwood if you want to play those areas.

Also, you will not have access to the Warden and Rune-Keeper classes without buying them.

ATTENTION! (thumbs up please) IF you have just downloaded LotRO and you can't create your character do the following:

1. Log into the game and exit out of the Character Creation screen.

2. Go to options and change DirectX10 to DirectX9

3. Restart your LotRO game and it should work.

4. Enjoy!
