you should have closed your face with white box rather than bike because in this video bike is a marketable comodity. and u r trying to market the bike. not ur burnt face. dumbo.
it never fails...everytime someone says, "fastest bike", it's all talk, no show. anyone can say theirs is the fastest bike. if it is, then show us, otherwise, stop talking, talk is cheap. learned nothing from this. thumbs down.
150 mile range is very good... this was 2009, 2011 now, im looking forward to when somebody will make a good electric touring bike with similar or better range and solar recharge.
WHY DID YOU PUT THAT STUPID WHITE BOX OVER THE BIKE THE WHOLE TiME?!!?!?!?!
I WANTED TO SEE IT, YOU'RE JUST COVERING UP THE GREAT DESIGN OF YOUR OWN BIKE.
In other photos i've seen of this bike, it's a black bike on a black background. Do you NOT want anyone to see what it looks like? Are you ashamed of how it looks?
How about they just put this thing on the dyno and plug it in to the mains with about 10.000 watts of power then we'll c what these are really made of it will end the arguments about whats more powerful gas or electric put it that way, and in 10 years time batteries can only improve
I would like to buy this bike to get me from A to B but for $60K+? hell to the no! (yes i looked at the price tag for it) why buy a $60K+ bike when i can buy possibly 2 or 3 brand new gas powered bikes that go faster than the mission one for the same price? mission one may be energy efficient but for $60K+ only the rich people would be able to afford one, you can buy a 2010 Ford Mustang and other sports cars like it with alot of HP for alot less than $60K!
remember how much first Nicam VCR's cost ? & first 42'' plasmas ? it's normal 1st gen. prototypes ( almost.. ) cost an arm & a leg, then go down as large scale manufacturing is applied. only an idiot would rather sell 100.000 bikes a year for 70.000$ rather than 3 million a year ( roughly Honda's yearly output !!.. ) at 5.000$/10.000$ & 15.000$, so...stop worrying so much & start saving some so when time comes, u don't have 2 b enslaved 2 your credit card for five more years 2 pay 4 it !!....
if I'm going to pay $70 grand for that, it should come with a substantial amount of company shares turning the first 50 customers into company investors. First customers are basically paying for the company's investment.
Great Idea. I hope they listen to that one. Awesome bike. I'd ride it to work and back each day, and be laughing all the way to the bank with no huge fuel bills. But for $75k it should come with a small emergency generator for when your stuck in the middle of nowhere. Still it's a sweet ride.
I had the same idea. I drive an XM-4000li electric maxi scooter (the big, extended body type like a Bergman) and I tote a small 4-stroke camping generator with me on long trips just in case.
I hope to start my build next year when I have the 700 pounds for the electric motor required and my project will also have regenerative braking as it is built into design of motor already all mission one have done is design a spacey looking bike the idea and components are used already for anyone to do the build at home if you have the tools and time for under 2000 pounds uk.
Killacycle is the fastest electric bike in the world, although the team Agni bike which won the TTxGP did a rather impressive 87mph around the 37 mile course and looked good.
I would like to see them perform a speed test on the mission 1 bike as it claims 150 but it has never been demonstrated achieving this speed.
Noise,There have been discussions about putting noise generators on electric cars / bikes to give other road users a little warning........seams a shame, but we accept it on digital cameras.
Battery,Every human action has a down side......a bicycle in its construction must have the same energy consumption as making a car bonnet ........this is an advance, if it pushes on battery research, thats good.......be happy, the great industrial might of America is at least turning into the wind !
lol, my pipe thunders off 112 decibals and still they swerve into me!
Where you put yourself on the road will dictate whether you live or die due to a dumbass cager calling smidsy on your carcass. Don't rely on your pipes kids, car drivers can be truly ignorant sometimes.
Great Idea, impressive performance (still not up to normal motorcycles though, I'm sure it will improve), however, if they want to produce it in the market, these guys need to get some new styling to make it more appealing, right now its not attractive at all, (headlights are sort of cool), but excellent job nonetheless in the technical aspects!
After redesigning it, the next step would be to commercialize it by getting publicity in a race or something like that.
The bike performance is awesome. Amazing torque, brilliant superb technology. Love the drive system. But the bike design need some huge revision. I really mean it. The styling doesn't represent the bike performance & technology at all. I think maybe the designer who made this bike isn't a biker. I don't feel any interest of speed in it.
where does the electricity come from... same with electric cars... coal factories etc! no better for the enviroment, although most green activists cant see past their own ignorant noses; or have any concept of basic sciences
Electricity can come from many sources. Our power here in the Mid-Atlantic is about 54% coal. In addition, you can clean up point-source pollution much easier than distributed units.
Your argument is a strawman that's been debunked over and over and over. BTW, I work in the energy industry, and am a scientist.
@emeeul It is true that a lot of sources of electricity cause pollution, but petroleum powered vehicles all create pollution. Where I live, we recently had the first rainstorm I've ever seen in summer. To put it bluntly, our planet is fucked, and we need to look at alternative sources of energy that do not pollute.
the way I look at it, if we all use electric cars then all we have to worry about is generating electricity in clean ways. however I'll still miss petrol engines...
...and the materials for battery construction. It isn't as though lithium is as plentiful as coal. And batteries are not only consumable (they do need eventual replacing) they have a rather large carbon footprint during the manufacturing process. $0.02.
I think green activism is based on looking past your own ignorant nose, so please be constructive in your comments on the subject. I guess I'm just ignorant, 'cause I don't understand what your science comment is based upon.

No video of it running on the road? Lame...
And it's not the fastest electric bike, either. That distinction belongs to Killacycle.

note the "production" in there - the killacycle is a one-of-kind motorcycle, this one is ment to be "mass" produced.
