  • I"ve seen 2 chicken wing recipes from Chef John and both times he uses tin foil paper to line his baking sheet. I know he has a Silpat silicone mat so I'm wondering if those are safe at all. I recently bought one and haven't used it yet because it's too large to fit in my toaster oven but is it safe to bake wings on it?

  • Non stick vegetable oil? Do you mean the oil in the spray bottle?

  • @redeemed2bfree yea he said sprayed non stick

  • grab, grab - ooop made ahole in the screen

  • lol at the prompt at the end

  • *driven mad by hunger, tries to reach through the screen*

  • awesome recipes keep them comming

  • you should get habenero hot sauce! (so hot)

  • Ingredients:

2 pounds wings, separated into 2 pieces each

    2 tbsp Dijon

    2 tbsp yellow mustard

    3 tbsp honey

    2 tsp cider vinegar

salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste

1 tsp hot sauce, or to taste

i know it annoying that you have to go to the site try it out AWESOME!!

  • I just made this without the sweetness, it's still great, but the important thing it that you NEED to foil wrap. Also don't make a lot of the mustard, it will end up oversoaking the chicken and it won't turn out like he did

    But they are still great

  • You actually made me reach for the screen when you offered them, in my 6 years of Youtube that NEVER happened to me, i hope you're proud of yourself John.

  • ugh... if only i could reach in the screen and take 'em... :'(

  • hope you feel better

  • I was reaching at the screen. Gimmeh!

  • man i was bored so i looked though your archives and i am glad i found this

  • As you were pouring in rooster sauce...

"A dripping a really hot, hotsauce"

    Roostersauce=not hot :P

  • can't you just fry the wings..in the oven they kinda sorta look pink lol!!!

  • @IamKushiro2 hell yeah you can fry them up that's what i did lol

  • @Bulrog10 hey how did they taste?

  • @IamKushiro2 like chicken bahaha just playing man they were good just more greasy since they were fried but you can always just towel them off and let them sit.

  • hate that spray veg oil

  • @TheMRamstaff What's wrong with spray veg oil as opposed to regular veg oil? It's still just oil.

  • im hungry Ç__Ç

  • It's your recepies vs my best friend recepies next weekend. I can't wait lol

    She already lost ..hahahahahahhaha

I wonder if I should post it for a first ?

  • I am so hungry now...

  • Out of curiosity, why do these go in the oven at 450 for 20 min, and the garlic/ginger wings go in at 400 for 30?

  • @jpariury I don't know why it's a different temperature, but it's not 450 for 20, it's 450 for 40 (he flips them at 20)

  • @jpariury Because the garlic/ ginger ones have a coating of flour, for best crisp; its better to put them on a lower temperate, or they might burn. Since these have no coating, they are put in a hotter oven to make their natural skin crispy.

  • @jpariury mayb because

the ginger garlic had flour on them? and they were to imitate fried wings- these look less crispy (jus my thought)

  • @snuckleberrylocs wouldnt something less crispy go in for greater time at lower temp?

  • @jpariury for these he said 40mins then 20 mins, garlic ginger wings were 30mins on each side the 450 and 400 no idea...

  • @MrEvilweanie I think he used flour on the garlic ginger wings and no flour on these...could be mistaken though. I love his recipes.

  • i just made it and me and my family loved it!

  • hey is that estriod chicken or perdue lol cause estroid chicken contain steriods a chemical that makes the chicken fat , its mostly known as lab genetic chicken which is not healthy something like perdue is healthy and all natural just making sure if anyone has problems with getting fat and havent event ate 2000 calories that might be your problem lol, esriods chicken that are cheap and say healthy are not the manufacture deosn't want u 2 know all those chemicals u muching away not healthy.

  • This is how all food shows should be, simple, straight to the point and short. Thanks foodwishes.

  • can you adopt me?

  • Hehe i noticed you wiped that little smudge of sauce at about 1m45 :)

  • It's very frustrating because I'm hungry. Haha.

  • I broke my screen reaching through it to grab a wing.. Yummy.

  • @wildmanpeterexcess

No you didn't, stop lying. You didn't even reach at the screen. Nobody would be that stupid to actually reach toward the screen and break while trying grab at an image on the screen. So stop with the motherfucking lies.

  • @xRichardbersteinx

    It was a joke man.

  • wheres the plate , why the spatch

  • Hey you guys smell that?

Smells like that new Super Bowl Chicken at KFC's..

  • i did his ginger garlic wings they were so nice but they burnt and stuck to the foil! had them in for 30mins each side 400F. going to try them again at this 20 mins instead,

  • when you put the plate up to the screen i almost tried to grab one...wow im hungry..haha

  • Where can a fella find some Sriracha?

  • At the grocery store?

  • go to a local hmong store. they will always have Sriracha

  • @yondaime38 Any Asian grocery store will have it for sure.

  • thanks

  • I tried the garlic ginger chicken wings during the Colts vs. Saints game today. THEY WERE AMAZING, even though i did serve them with honey mustard sauce......forgive me, Chef John.

  • I made these the other day, and they were freakin awesome! I wouldn't be surprised if they had these at Buffalo Wild Wings in the future, but I wouldn't know, cause I'm never going there again.

Recommended: use a few dashes of tabasco when making the sauce-- it doesn't even taste like tabasco, but BAM!! Kicks it up a notch!!

  • @lime90621 idk if u know him,but BAM reminds me of emeral

  • @samwhich99 Hehe, yah, that's why I said it. It's a good phrase. Did I mention these wings are good?!

BTW, use a FLAT pan if you are baking. My 2nd time around, I used a slotted (broiler?) pan. I thought draining the juices out would make them crispier, but it turned out soggy.

3rd time around, I used a flat cookie pan again, and it was crispy, so it MUST cook in its own juices to be crispy (when baking)! And trust the temp of 450 degrees and the time (20 mins)!

  • 20 mins each side, of course.. Follow the vid!

You are so down to earth with your wisdom. thanks chef John. planning to try your cool recipes.

  • Sriracha is amazing..........mmmmmmm

  • your videos make me hungry hahaha i love wings no matter what kind. buffalo bbq honey bbq and that one kind you made with the garlic and ginger looks delicious! these look great as well.

  • I luv ur videos!!! There so short and simpple! AND YUMMY!

  • NEVER TEASE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN.

  • HEY. Was that Sriracha Hotsauce? :D

  • Does it matter?

  • No. I was only curious, because it looked like the green top to the Sriracha hotsauce. D:

  • yeah that was

  • yes it is darling... he always uses sriracha asian hotsauce...

  • they are undercooked

  • They are cooked. You can tell by how dark the end of the bones are. This means that they have cooked long enough for the marrow to be cooked inside the bone. Also if you watch his other video, he shows that the meat slides right off the bone.

  • Yeah the sauce just tastes exactly like Chick Fil-A's honey mustard sauce.

  • you have the most amazing orgasmic chicken wing skill.

  • omg....im making buffalo wings as we speak..just waiting for them to cook..

  • this made me drool a little

  • You should invest in a deep fryer, there cheap and is the only way to make real wings, you could use a skillet, but Deep Fryer is the way to go. Sauce looks good though.
