PAL takes delivery of new Boeing 777

What is the engine of our very own PAL 777-300ER? Is it the noisy RR Trents or the GE90-115B?

PAL are going to start the Boeing 777 from Melbourne to the Philippines in Late March. But I know this because I am a PAL Pilot for 37 years and I make the Melbourne to Manila flight quite frequently.

The new airplane is the first 777 to join PAL's fleet and is one of two leased 777-300ERs the airline will deploy on its international routes. In addition the airline has four more 777-300ERs on order directly from Boeing from 2007.

ive been inside the 380 and 777.. the 380 from the outside looked like an oversized fat jet. compared to a 777 that has much longer fuselage. pax wise A380 can pack more people than the 777 but the 777 is more economocal to operate than the a380

Right-but VN T7 is only been in service since 2003 and only 4 in service and it happens to be there flagship on their fleet.

As for PR, um Let see 1970's DC-10, DC-8,BAC-111. 1980''s B747-200, A300, B-727. 1990's B747-400, B737,A330,A340,A319,A320 and now this T7-300er.

they have B747,A340,A330 on there fleet and capacity demand is not really needed. it's all about economics. If you ever study PR history well it's obvious you probably can figure it out, let's just they are pretty short on cash and they will always be one of the last Carrier to place an order for a new metal, give it couple of years they will start looking on replacement for a new metal, those B747,A340,A330 are getting old, you will be saying the same thing.

The only reason they bought Boeing 777-300ER in order for them to be a Category 1 airliner. Only C1 rankings are allowed by the US Aviation Board to expand their fleet in their territory.

the A319 and A320 were bought to replace the aging B737s (now retired) which covered domestic flights. The B777 was bought to help relieve the A330, A340, and even B747-400s which were working overtime to cover regional/international flights. Also the possible expansion to Europe and the U.S. Believe me, PAL's reputation has improved greatly!

Its currently not possible for PAL or any Philippine Carriers to fly to Europe do the EU Ban last March. Kinda sad, however there will be a inspection by the FAA in September probably

I'm truly impressed with PAL's collection of birds. They made some very wise choices....BD8, A319, A320, A330, A340, B747-400, and now B777-300ER. For being the 'oldest' airline in Asia, they have a fairly young and conservative fleet. Even the older 747-400's have been refurbished. I envision the A380 replacing the B747-400 and more of the B777 replacing the A340's in the coming years. Kudos to PAL!!

Wala ka bang alam tungkol sa mga runways; 777s and A330s can't be accommodated by the runways of some of our domestic airports, and other Asian airlines also have A319s, A320s and 737s
