  • I'm going here this summer to get my first horse, I have my heart set out for a "slaughter horse".

  • i go to this auction sometimes to see what horses are brought there. It kills me every time they dont sell and are sent to the kill pen if they dont sell in the re-sale. So many gorgeous horses that no one wants. It is so sad. =* (

  • What a great video. Good to see the saves. Now, if only the people that dump these wonderful souls at auction could get educated!!!!

    Again, greedy, lazy people.

  • Awwwww

  • How can anyone say that horse slaughter is a necessary evil? Have you looked at a video of what these animals go through? Take a look and I would hope that you would change your mind. I have donated money to save animals from different auctions and will continue to do so and anyone that thinks that horse slaughter is ok, certainly does not have a heart or a soul!

  • does anyone have any info on the horse at 4:22?

  • Instead of going after the end result, why not go after the cause? If there wasn't an overpopulation of horses, there wouldn't be a need for slaughter houses. Even though it seems cruel, they are a necessary evil, sad to say it. :(

  • Does anyone have a website for this Camelot Stabels/salebarn?

  • #375, the black Standardbred, came to live with us here at our rescue in Maine! We just picked him up yesterday and what a nice boy he is! We also picked up the little stud colt and the sorrel 3 year old mare and dropped them off at their new home in NH. I have to say the people at Camelot were really nice throughout the process. I'm so glad to have been part of this effort. I hope to be able to pull some others once this guy is rehabbed and rehomed!

  • I'm so glad to hear this. I was getting increasingly worried for him as the deadline neared. I have an "upgraded" OTTSTB myself so there's a special place in my heart for them and I was so saddened when it seemed like he might not find a home. Thank you for taking him, from some random wannabe rescuer on the internet ;)

  • to slaughter immediately following the auction. We have until noon Saturday to save these guys.

  • Hi dougsgirl. This auction is in NJ. The horses go through wednesday nights. The proprietor is kind enough to allow pictures of the horses that end up in the killpen. They are then posted on the NJ KILLPEN HORSES facebook page (very late wednesday or early thursday). They can also be found on HHER's web page. From there the net working begins. These horses are the "lucky" ones (so to speak) Many auctions, as I'm sure you know, shun rescues, do not allow pictures and send the horses (con't)

  • That was a very nice video. I would like to rescue a horse or pony from this auction soon. I follow it every week. It is so nice that all of these horses get saved!

  • Where is this auction and who rescues them? Wonderful job!

  • i'm so honored to be a part of this group of awesome people.! another miracle!!!

  • Beautiful, what an honor to have such a great group of people to be my Facebook friends! Congratulations you are making a difference!
