  • In Illinois?! That's pretty close to me. I didn't know they lived around there.

  • If i had the money to donate i would!

  • I have a question. You mentioned in the video that Kathy and her husband had purchased wolves as well as Simba, Freddy and Sassyfrass. Do you remember what happened to them? Whether they were released, euthanized or sent to a different rescue organization?

  • @shewolf51 We asked the same thing when we were rescuing Freddy and Sassy and the owners sister had no idea, nobody knew what happened to the wolves ?

  • Can one make a donation to BCR?

  • @Urbanomad22 Yes, that would be grrreat! You can visit our home page and click on the "donate" link :) THANK YOU!

  • @BigCatRescue i like and favorite every video of yours i watch because what you do is worth 10 fold i could ever do for you guys

  • @lfk156 Thanks!!!

  • I feel bad for the owners. They weren't hard-hearted. They were good people. Just ignorant.

  • @theonlyzdog Yes, we felt the same, but the bottom line is they were ignorant and kinda stupid when working around these animals.

  • good job guys. :)

  • is it just me or is there something wrong with freddy's hind quarters from when he was at the other location (ie from beatings or something)?

it just looked like he was having difficulty moving when you got there to rescue him.

  • I'm glad to see they were rescued and put into better accommodations. Too bad you cannot release them into the wild.

  • what happened to the wolves?

  • @peterkikic We have no idea, they were already long gone when we came to rescue the cougars??

  • What a sad and needless tragedy! :( But thank God for people like those at Big Cat Rescue for saving what was left to save.

  • Great job saving those cats. Glad they didn't starve in there. Would have been a sad story.

  • A W S O M E job guys GOD BLESS U , DID U GUYS RECIVE MY DONATION??? i will check my mail , i love guys , save the tigers plz and all big cats and zabu and bradpit cameron :-) , china doll , shere khan , flavio , bella , TJ , r.i.p snorkel and trucha and , WHERE IS THE female liger , shes ok??

  • @IBroLLyISePhIrOtH Thank you for donating, I'm sure we did :) Freckles the liger is doing good, we'll try and add her in future videos :)

  • @BigCatRescue

freckles cool name , some one tell me the f malwe liger was dead , what an idiot :s . , well guys have a wonderful day and god bless u all

  • @BigCatRescue please do!

  • awesome job! Glad there are good people in the world with big hearts and consciences.

  • awwww wonderful ending ,great work guys as always, xx

  • What biased nonsense, responsible owners CAN keep exotics like any domestic animal. ALL domesticated animals were once WILD duh!

  • @Corrupt5358 Yeah, but the amount of care you would have to give to a big cat in order to be "responsible" is impossible for most people. Plus, the size of big cats is part of what makes them so dangerous. A playful tackle can kill a person. My cat bites me sometimes, not that hard, but if she was the size of those cougars, I would have a problem.

  • this has nothing to do with the video really but oh well. my favorite part of big cats are their eyes :) fierce, prideful and just plain out lovely :)

  • this make me sad

  • BCR are the best!

  • Its sad but at least they had a happy ending... I saw listing for big cats on pet website and I didnt realize until then how easy it is for people to get them. They had cervals .. cheetahs and some other cats listed. No one should have them as pets.. even if you have money theres no way you can truely give them all they need to be happy. I love black panthers and I'm in school to be a vet but I would still never buy one as a pet. Big Cat rescue is awesome for all you do - :)

  • wow i cant believe she killed herself and left her cats for no good :/

  • Speaking of people having pets, I've been getting video suggestions in my Recommended list of people who have bob cats, servals and cougars as pets.

Google is pretty damn imperfect, b/c it's assuming my desire to watch BCR videos means I also want to view videos of people's "pet" big cats.

They get the cats as pets and then show videos of it and, so far, every big cat owner has been oblivious to the fact that their cats are going to grow up.

  • aww, i'm so happy you saved these cats. thank you so much for what you do! =D

  • Thank you so much for your good work. God Bless you.

  • Another wonderful rescue! Bless you people; when I start making more money, you're definitely getting a donation.

  • what i want to know is what happened to the wolves

  • Thank you for saving cats :)

  • i want your job

  • Lions and cougars are beautiful animals! I'm glad you give all your big cats a second chance at life! And i hope that eventually people won't have to kill them or hunt them for "fun"(as they call it..) but people are becoming less barbaric, which is good ^^

  • All of you people Prasing BCR are stupid. if you all really love and care for animals, steer clear from donating to BCR. Carole is a hypocrate and if she had it her way, she would be the only person in the world with exotic animals. SHAME ON BCR.

  • and this is why we shouldn't keep wild animals as pets :/ thank you for rescuing these awesome cats!

  • That's terrible. Simba wouldn't have needed to get shot if those people hadn't brought him into that environment.

  • What a WONDERFUL story! I love the look they had when they first stepped out onto the grass. Thank you so very much for all you do for these magnificent cats.

  • I would love to beat everyone who owns an exotic animal with a shovel

  • @cscate

^so true. This will sound so freaky but I'd like to spend the rest of my life hurting people in the way they hurt animals, it enrages me to no end!

  • Hope they're enjoying their stay :D

  • I know that you guys know what you're doing and you take all the procations when doing everything, but taking the collar with out knocking out the cat is crazy. >.< you wouldn't have seen me even trying that. I love you guys kee on doing what you do. :]

  • why keep hybrid dogs in cages? there not wild and why did he beat sassy with a shovel?

  • @ivesour The Abels didn't beat Sassyfrass, it was the former owner.

  • thank you for all your hard work!

  • Wow,

Wow!.. Watching this video just further solidifies that BCR are the pros, and really, the only type of folks that should be handling wild cats. It was interesting to hear how you had to modify the fences, etc, all on-the-fly, keeping the cats and the rescuers safe. This is the first time I have seen something like this done. You guys officially rock, I can't open my web browser without checking in with BCR vids and news first. And AWESOME job with Skip!! :) BCR ROX!!!

  • Ge If a unhappy "domestic" (will never be tamed but semi used to human contact) cougar can do that to a carrier, I wonder what an unhappy truly wild cougar would do!

  • As I always type in the comments

If you want a "wild cat"...grab a feral cat off the street (or adapt), spay/neuter, give them their rabies. Let loose in house. Let the fun begin (and slowly build up their trust). I got bit my one of my cats on the ring finger because he was unhappy. It was swollen for 3 days. Its going down now but imagine if he was an unhappy cougar!

  • Way to go! Love Big Cats but know they will never be pets. Love small cats and know they will be pets when they want to.

  • Good work, BigCatRescue!

People, if you want a cat, got to an animal shelter; get a kitten. House cats have the wild cat in their soul. Be satisfied with that.

  • They are beautiful. Thanks for rescuing them. It just makes my mind boggle on why people think cougars are pets in the first place.

  • You guys are like angels, God bless BigCatRescue!!!

  • How and why is the private ownership of wild animals still legal in the USA!?!

    ;(

  • You people are doing amazing things i love big cats and maybe when i am older i will stop by for a visit ;) You Guys Rule!

  • Cougars are such beautiful cats. I think they are one of my faves within the 'big cat' family. But beautiful doesn't mean petable.

How about a video where some of you guys show off your fave big cat species and share some words about the sanctuary cat who represents that species?

  • @LeloniBunny Yep, that's a good idea, we're backlogged with projects right now but will keep it in mind for the future :)

  • Thank God for Big Cat Rescue!

  • @CanadaNS Thank the people... please.

  • They're so pretty! Glad they have a good home now. :)

  • good job!! they're so beautyful

  • wat happened to the poor wolves? *cries* poor guys. the dark brown cougar is so beautiful though.

  • @Razedbywolves1 The wolves weren't on the property when we rescued Freddy and Sassyfrass, they were long gone by the looks of things and we're not sure where they went ??

  • @Razedbywolves1 I wonder if there are sanctuaries for wolves, bears and apes?

  • what i dont understand is why she kept the cougers for the next 6 years after wot happened...silly woman should hav given them to big cat rescue the same day

  • I LOVE WHAT YOU DO AT BIG CAT RESCUE!!! A BIG thank you!!! :-)

  • @SayenAnnette Thanks for the support !!!

  • I'm glad that they were rescued but I have to say how stupid some people are that would want keep big cats anyway, my opinion. Big cats belong in the wild. God Bless and keep up the good work.

  • Happy new year!=)

  • God bless you

  • I would have loved to have seen a collar removal video.

  • I'm glad your organization exists! And so close to where I live, too. I want to visit someday :)

  • god job bcr !

  • They're beautiful! Congratulations on another successful rescue.

My favourite part of 'MonsterQuest' was always when Scott appeared.

  • i wanna find the big cat rescue in the facebook !!

  • @henkwood We're on facebook, make sure you 'like" the correct page! :)

  • I Love BigCatRescute =)

  • I have the same tiger blanket! xD

  • @magikarpkaitlin Nice! Ours as had a lot of use!

  • y do people put such big animals like cats etc... in cages so small atleast put them in a good sized enclosure so that they can actually run around :C

  • What a sad story - poor family... That's what happens when you mess with animals that were not meant to be domesticated.

  • poor things ! how could they do this to them ? ! Im so glad you rescued them !

  • rroaarrrrh :3

  • How many spare dens do you guys have? Since there's always a new cat coming in and stuff...

  • @victoriacrl We have a few empty cages, we are almost at capacity (around 120 cats right now) that's why we cannot rescue every cat we are called about, we don't have the room, we can always build new enclosures but this is more money on top of the rescue and care of that animal for the rest of their life, so we have to think hard about the cats we rescue and our future.. :)

  • @BigCatRescue are there other rescue facilities in the around the country that you partner with?

  • This is amazing! But sad :<

Poor dog. Great rescue with the cougar! Did you guys have many situations like this happen before?

  • @XxChenoxItachixX We are often called about "pets" that are no longer wanted or have been abandoned by their owners etc.... but nothing quite like the story that unfolded at this rescue.

  • The story about the woman and her husband is so sad. One stupid decision due mainly to ignorance ruined and cut short both their lives. Their compassion for the animals is wonderful but it ended up killing them in the end.

  • Really? An African lion?? Yeah, because THAT'S a good idea!

  • I'm so happy these two didn't end up starving to death in their cages after their owner died. Thanks for helping these cats out.

  • Couldn't the police just shoot the lions leg or something? And not actually kill it =\

  • @MeerKat186 I guess they didn't want to take that chance, lions are very tough and he was next to almost 300,000 acres of forest, the lion could have disappeared forever!

  • I would love to help you in some way. I am adding you to my favorites this may help some of your traffic. We shoot UltraSlo motion video in both 2 & 3D of things from science to silly. Please feel free to attach any of your videos to my clips to help your traffic.

    Good luck

  • @ultraslo Thanks for that, you have some very interesting videos, it would be great to capture the cats attacking their enrichment animal models!

  • Big Cat Rescue ROCKS!! Thanks guys for the amazing work done. Just love the final wowrrrrr at the end of that clip, kind of says it all.

Wish I could visit your compound, and should I ever get to the States one day I most certainly will!

  • @MsPlod Hope you can visit the sanctuary someday! :)

  • you guys are angels 100%

  • I think you should get some sturdier travel cages.....

  • @ridingisasport Agreed :)

  • thats so wonderful! :D

  • there is no way i would be the one trying to get him into a cage LOL

  • I love you guys at BCR, thank you for saving big cats like Freddy & Sassyfrass <3.

  • Now they are finally safe. ♥

  • Who sent you the message?

  • @horse14t It was a Field Volunteer at the Mountain Lion Foundation (MLF)

    San Diego, California.

  • Cougars are such good looking animals.

  • I'm disabled with little income, but I wish I could help people llike you that do the work you do, if you read my channel you will see how much I like animals. I did play 2 bucks on the lotto tonight worth 355 million. so lets hope I hit because its people like you that I would be giving some of the money to. keep up the great work. and thank you from us animal lovers.

  • @ragingbull124 Thanks for the support, I've got my fingers crossed for you and a lottery WIN !! :)

  • @BigCatRescue sorry, 2 people hit and one wasn't me :( but I love what your doing I just wish I could help, keep up the great work.

  • You guys are absolutely awesome!!! I love your updates about the work you're doing - which is phenomenal. As a major cat lover, I can't tell you how grateful I am to you for your efforts in rescuing these incredibly intelligent and beautiful beings. Blessings.

  • awww poor people and cougars

  • Good job to all involved. Shame about this story but it goes to show how silly people can be.

  • I really love you guys. Thank you for doing what you do!

  • God i love u guys

  • What happened to Scott?..

  • @AmplifyingPeace Scott left to pursue his filming career, he has a new show "wild Animal Repo" coming out jan 16th on the Discovery Channel!! :)

  • @BigCatRescue Ahhh... I miss Scott. Can't wait to see his show! What is it going to be about?

  • oh how i love cats and big cats :) i wanna learn more about them ^.^

  • Great work guys.

  • what you do guys its truly incredible, thank you very much. As soon as I have some money to spare I'll try to contribute to your cause.

  • THIS IS GREAT!!!

  • Congratulations BCR, you are the best, your work is amazing :)

  • thank you for rescuing them !

  • I love happy endings! Thank you, Big Cat Rescue, for caring so much!

  • Once again your devotion to the care of these animals is impeccable.

  • LOvelY Job Big Cat Rescue, Save The Cats!!!

  • Great to hear that Freddy ans Sassyfrass enjoy their new home. They look happy and healthy! :)

  • IT's amazing how cute they look but yet how dangerous they can be. I want to nibble on his ears :)

  • And I thought I couldn't admire BCR more than I already did. :-)

  • What about the wolves? Is there a Big Dog Rescue as well?

  • @ARodriguez258 The wolves weren't on the property when we rescued Freddy and Sassyfrass, they were long gone by the looks of things and we're not sure where they went ??

  • I love you for what you do for this magnificent cats!! Had to share this on Facebook!! Happy New Year to you, as well as all the furry residents at Big Cat Rescue!!

  • @idreamofwolfkisses Thanks for spreading the word! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

  • @MagicalMotherRabbit Thanks for watching! Unfortunately the state of Louisiana renewed the permit condemning Tony to the truck stop for at least another year :( We won't give up the fight though!!

  • What I'm curious about is who's the one to volunteer to take a collar off of a cougar...

  • @Woad25 That was one of our senior staff members who worked with Freddy, he got comfortable with people very quickly so that made it easier :)

  • @Woad25 a very very brave person ether that or a very stupid person

  • I think im gonna join a cat rescue programs and just keep buying land and donating it to foundations for the animals

  • sad for simba, although it's probably better he didn't escape. :( I'm glad they didn't breed any of them, but still, they could've called you guys earlier and saved everyone a lot of trouble. Thank you for saving them, I'm sure they are thinking the same thing!

  • Texting that word doesnt work in other countries ? And this kind of news makes a smile on my face :)

  • @LraCroft Yes, it's just in the USA, you can visit our website to find out alternative ways to donate, THANK YOU !!

  • You are doing such a great job. I really look forward to seeing all your posts on youtube as its so insightful to see the wonderful work you do. Every time I'm in the Tampa area I love coming for a visit. Thank you for taking care of these amazing animals.

  • wow the couple who used to own these beautiful cats should be beat to death. how stupid can you be to want to keep these wild animals in your backyard and trying to breed them. Then she just leaves them there when she decides to leave what a fuckin souless bitch hope she gets whats coming to her. people like that make me sick.

  • @KyleMorrison wow ur a angry boy

  • @paul452531 hey i just love these animals and it just really pisses me off when i see just how stupid people really can be. Its things like this that make our world that much more depressing. They belong in the wild not in a cage in some dumb hicks backyard.

  • @KyleMorrison

It says in the video that the couple is dead. The man died of wounds, and the woman committed suicide.

  • @KyleMorrison What a retarded thing to say, get a brain. I'm betting they were better people than you.

  • @KyleMorrison well if you listened to the video, she killed herself. and they said in the video they WEREN'T trying to breed the cats. If you're going to be angry, be angry for the right reason. I also don't think anyone who owns exotic animals like that is a good thing either. In fact, I hope it becomes illegal worldwide. Thank you so much BCR for rescuing those guys! (maybe you can come move this bobcat that keeps visiting us and kills our chickens! ;P)

  • I really admire the work that you guys do (:

  • Yay BCR!

  • to publish that the woman committed suicide is sensationalisitc journalism and not needed for your story - she still has relatives to think of -

stating she died is sufficient unless you wish to still punish her in death

  • It's such a shame that exotics get abused like this... I'd love nothing more than to have a "pet" cougar, but I know that line alone will make so many uncomfortable because of irresponsible people out there. There's not a damn thing that says a cat like this can't be cared for in a way that it would be extremely happy and healthy. Unfortunately idiots ruin it all, even for those who want to be responsible about it.

  • @darkshadow851 I don't think anyone wants to be irrisponsible about it. well maybe a few jerks, but most people think they can handle it and find out otherwise. Even housecats sometimes bite and claw in play, except housecats don't weigh 200 pounds (i don't know how much cougars actually weigh...) and I think they'd be hard to feed, too, since they eat raw meat and that's about it :/

  • @TheMonthofMayo Perhaps then to say it's a shame that people are foolish enough to have such a gross misconception of what is responsible. I.e. beating the animal with a shovel- not responsible. Or an enclosure like what they showed, I wouldn't even consider that large enough for the average dog, let alone a damn cougar.

  • I'm so glad your guys were able to save them! :] I kind of wish that the lion had been able to continue in a place like BCR, but I understand the police weren't able to wait... I wonder what happened to the wolves? Lots of people are curious... Perhaps they were gone, if someone else was able to care for them?

Again, I'm so glad you were able to save Freddy and Sassyfrass. Hopefully one day you won't have to rescue any more animals (as in, this exotic animal owning stops).

  • @WolfehMaster The wolves weren't on the property when we rescued Freddy and Sassyfrass, they were long gone by the looks of things and we're not sure where they went ??

  • @BigCatRescue Well I hope they didn't get out and are alright! :(

  • @BigCatRescue Hopefully the wolves didn't get out into the forest.

  • Just think, they day they bought those cats they ruined their lives. One to die, one to die of loneliness. Sad.

  • He must have hit an artery when he bit the guy.

That's the only way he could have bled to death before help arrived-unless he was there for an hour before he called for help.

I work in Emergency Medicine, and I hate calls where there are injured people w/ live wild animals around when we arrive on scene.

One person had a 'pet' alligator, who bit her while she was trying to clean his enclosure.

  • @vickiormindyb Yep, that's what it said in the newspaper report I believe, you're job sounds interesting. All these ignorant people and their "pets" .....

  • Life's always an inspiring adventure with Big Cat Rescue! That's got to be one of the most ghetto breeding facilities I've ever seen. Hell, the guy stole a McDonald's banner ad from Wal-Mart to put in the cage. What the hell was that for, so that the cougar wouldn't climb out or bite the cage? Stupid people...

  • @UberMan5000 I think it was more of a wind break? But the cougars had no roof and a very tiny dog-loo shelter and it gets very cold up there :(

  • in the video u said that they also had wolves if so were they still there when u rescued the 2 cougars or were they not? if they were still there did u get help for them too?

  • @XxemoxchibixX The wolves weren't on the property when we rescued Freddy and Sassyfrass, they were long gone by the looks of things and we're not sure where they went ??

  • I want to thank you all as well. I'm still crying.

You are wise people dealing with fools. I don't know how you keep any faith in humanity. I suppose you just have to look at one another.

I am proud you are my Brothers and Sisters. May the Heavens hold you dear.

    I do.

  • A very sad story with a happy ending. What you guys do is awesome...Thanks for taking in these beautiful cats.

  • I would love to watch the rest of this! But me so sick I can's right now! I'm glad you are there to help these poor babies!

  • Glad that this had a happy ending... Sad though that people looking for power and money resort to trying to own what's wild and sacred to their and the wild critter's' detriment. Hope that one day...not too far off...we'll appreciate our own power as HUmans in service to creation and in honor of the wild. My very best to you good folks!
