Nice one. Some comments: there is a lot of grey space between things, I guess that's so that you can fit text in when zooming in? Have you considered packing things more tightly - like honeycomb or sunflower seeds pattern? May be with most recent files in the middle of the spiral or in the size order (and colors representing the age like you're doing it).
I found Gnome's Baobab handy for this sort exploring my computer, and it's round visualisation looks nice too. Have you seen it?
