  • things can go very wrong at the blink of an eye at Daytona, good skills for not hitting anything

  • Damn! Like a BOSS!

  • Holy crap if that was me I'd have the shakey jakes so bad I'd need to be carried off. The driver did a good job not to put it into the wall.

  • Is this a Porsche 911? The interior looks like one.

  • I would have had to check my shorts after that! Great job of keeping your cool

  • i`d like to that on an outside camera as well ... nice u didnt hit anything bro!!

but it must have been a little shock at the and for you too... can see the foot on the clutch shaking... :) a and why didnt u hit the clutch imediately?! cause my first reaction would be that?!?

  • lucky he didn't hit the wall

  • Nice save! Didn't even hit the wall from what I see

  • どこにもぶつからないのが素敵!!!!

  • Very lucky man.

  • 落ち着いてるね~

  • All you retards who said good job not hitting anything are fucked in the head. When that happens you are along for the ride. He got lucky he did not hit anything he barely moved the wheel and he feathered with the brake. He was not swapping bees, trying to save the car, it was not a nice save. Go learn somthing about racing

  • the tire must be worn out after so many left turns

  • Dr Jim has not needed to go potty for 3 days since this happened !

  • well handled

  • How did a comment about Jesus returning get in on this.... btw good job doctor! you should hav like 1000 smokin hot chicks suckin u off for that skill xD there need to be more ppl on the track these days who know what they're doing, and your a doctor so u can teach them your amazing swagaliscious skillzzzz

  • Nice Skill.

  • wow! id like to see a exterior record of a camera of this event

  • امحق سواقه زغب اووم البريك والله لو يخلونا نسوق ان يشوفون القيادة صحيح

  • I'm curious as to why you didn't push in the clutch. I always assumed keeping the driving wheels rolling freely would help in control.

  • Let's see nascar drivers do that.

  • @gh3dude1 you fucking idiot

  • @jamiecruz0412 Troll effective.

  • @gh3dude1 oh so youre happy your dumbass comment got some attention?

  • @jamiecruz0412 No. I'm sorry my comment offended you. My joke about trolling was irrelevant and rude. Sorry to ruin your day just a little bit.

  • @gh3dude1 oh...

  • Step 1: turn on the windshield wipers.

  • you can't see with this camera

  • You lucky bastard

  • You lucky bastard

  • This is Jim. There was no warning. It just exploded. The right steering input was instinctive but it was clear immediately that I was along for the ride. The only thing I was concerned about was getting further away from the wall. Thus starting on the second revolution I released the brakes a little every time I was facing away from the wall and then went to full lock as it came back to face the wall again That is why my right foot is releasing the pedal partly (not completely!) a couple of ti

  • @Hicalcm Nice job keeping the car off the wall!

  • @Hicalcm and i freak out when i hit a patch of ice in my hyundai. =D

  • @Hicalcm glad your ok and didnt get harmed

  • FIRESTONE was here

  • LIKE A BOSS

  • Just curious to why you held the wheel locked at 1 o'clock?

  • @mattunh If you notice, once the car was beyond control, the good Doctor jammed on the brakes to get the car into a four wheel lock. While this is occurring, any steering input is useless. Otherwise he may have just been holding on and waiting for the end of the ride. ;)

Regardless, kudos to Jim for nicely executing the "both feet in" rule!

  • @Maxzillian I can understand the concept of the four wheel lock to keep an uncontrollable car going the intended direction, in a spin both feet in, but that point I would have thought a straight wheel position would be the best option so you can slow/reduce the spin by releasing the brakes when you pointed in the right direction.

I have a Porsche and attend many DE events, just trying to learn more.

  • @mattunh I'm guessing that he realized that the momentum was spinning him in a direction where he wouldn't hit anything, turning the wheel would've changed the direction of his momentum and made him crash into something.

  • Beacuse Racecar.

  • Wow Jim! That was one hell of a ride and your time behind the wheel and a decent amount of luck kept a beautiful car from turning into a giant paper weight! I guess that's why they call you Dr.! ;)

If there are any other videos from the other 911's that were in the video, please post them or link.

  • Glad Jim was ok, I think hes going to need new underwear though

  • He was a passenger the whole time.... 1/64th of a round of countersteer. I'm glad no contact was made!

  • Amazing how he kept it off the wall!!

  • Our data shows we were doing 180.5 mph when this occured. Very exciting ride!

  • Spencer, Dr. Jim was flying, we were doing approx 140 when he went by us (on our way to our terminal speed of 155).

  • Thanks Juan. This must have been exciting for you as well.

  • I'll post another view of this. My car is the yellow/purple 911 which was right behind when this happened. My co-driver was at the wheel.

    Kind regards! Juan
