I hate abortion and death penalty because the person dying does not have a choice. However, euthanasia is someone wanting to die and I think they should have the right. The only concern I have is that they dont want to die but there is somehow a misunderstanding or even if a doctor knows and hates the person..they could be killed without their choice. But I don't see it happening too often so for the most part I don't see a problem with letting people choose since it IS their life
The answer is so simple. He loves life but he isn't living anymore. He has 2 options. A) Keep suffering and then die. B) Die now. In his situation I would go with option B. If that's still not understandable, then, I don't know what is.

We do not create ourselves, therefore, what or who gives us the right to end ourselves? Yes, life is too hard to live on our own, but we are not alone. 316
@liveforapurpose let us hope then, for your sake, that you never develop a debilitating, terminal disease. If you do, you will realise at your end, your hypocrisy that indeed no imaginary friend will stop pain and suffering like these people suffer. Keep your crackpot religious quotes to yourself until you really know what it is like.
There are those who would take a retrograde step by abolishing abortion. These same people would say that euthanasia is murder. These people are usually religious & will tell us that only god can decide when we will die.I thought this 'god' gave us free will! I am life-threatened by illness & I will stand by my decision when it is right for me to end my life! I actually do believe in a god,but not 1 whom the religious cults tell us about! I will take my chances with Him upon my death.
No one has more right to my life then me, the religious minoirty that oppose this are prolonging needless suffering that will never end until the person dies
I find it criminal that we give our ANIMALS more dignity during their suffering and pain via euthanasia than our own human brothers and sisters who are too old and suffering.
I am For Euthanasia, however, i find this video very one sided, maybe it was meant to be that way just to show your views, I'm unaware of the reasons but as a general it seems to focus only on voluntary Euthanasia,
It's very obsolete to claim that euthanasia-arguments are one sided, because euthanaisia-supporters don't want to obligate euthanasia. they want people to have a choice, and choose for themselves between the two options, where as people who are against euthanasia just claim what they want and feel everyone should do as say they would do. There is no argument here.
You can't give sane reasoning as to why you should have the right to deny a person you don't even know a peaceful death and want him to continue suffering. An anti-euthanasia stance is nothing but thinking everyone should act like you, iIt is a totalitarian stance on life itself, it allows for no individual choice, and quite frankly a disgusting attitude.
Have things changed? If they have, they are changes that should logically reduce the call for euthanasia - pain control medicines and procedure are far better than they have ever been any time in history.
It is remarkable that euthanasia advocates today think they know better than the billions of people throughout history who have outlawed euthanasia - what makes the 50 year old euthanasia supporters in 2005 so wise that they think they can discard the accumulated wisdom of almost all societies of all time and open the door to the killing of innocent people?
@itsjoekimmm I am terminally ill. I am totally bedfast and in total pain. I live on morphine, percocet, and cannabis. I've lost my career, my money, my friends, and all of my talents. You and your kind have NO right to sentence me to this hell for as long as medical science can keep me alive. You have NO right to persecute and prosecute any compassionate individual whom I may ask to help me step out of this hell. Focus on your OWN problems, that should keep you too busy to meddle with mine.
@Imaginefree69 im not sentencing anyone to hell. you should focus on your own business. im just stating my opinion. i dont know but when did society change that i cant even state my opinion? i could say whatever the hell i want whenever i want so you have no right to say to focus on my own shit. you know how much pain it is to see a loved one to die? nothing hurts more than having the plug pulled on your loved one.
@itsjoekimmm What a hypocrite. You want to speak out but I'm supposed to keep quiet? Good luck with that. Anyone who denies me the right to die IS sentencing me to hell. "you know how much pain it is to see a loved one to die?" Yes, of course I do. But you seem to think that your emotional pain is more important than the pain of the person dying. That's a very selfish and ignorant attitude. It's up to the dying person and NO ONE ELSE.
@itsjoekimmm yes, this is the same wisdom that subjugates women and encourages slavery. Grow up. You cannot ever know the degree to which some people suffer, and the reality that every waking second of their life is utter pain and torture. You can speak your mind, but expect strong opposition when you make illogical claims that are not only insensitive to the sufferings of others, but also come from a place of arrogance and insensitivity.
History has taught us the dangers of euthanasia and that is why there are only two countries in the world today where it is legal. That is why almost all societies - even non-religious ones - for thousands of years have made euthanasia a crime.
People who support euthanasia often say that it is already considered permissible to take human life under some circumstances such as self defense - but they miss the point that when one kills for self defense they are saving innocent life - either their own or someone else's. With euthanasia no one's life is being saved - life is only taken.
I believe that euthanasia should be made legal for a number of reasons. Firstly, if somebody who is in a healthy state of mind believes they are ready to die, it is their life they are choosing to end in a dignified manner, they have the right to this choice.
How can a nation such as the USA who kill HEALTHY people for heinous crimes disallow the dignified death of UNHEALTHY, terminally ill and law abiding innocent people? If the death penalty is enforced, it is contradictory to ban euthanasia.
You didn't create your body, thus your body belongs to the creator God. God decides when you die, so you must bear God's burden . The patient suferer is promised with an award in the hereafter
There are literally scores of medical cases on record where people have been judged to be "irreversibly comatose," and then have awakened to lead perfectly normal lives. In fact, it is safe to say that there are many more people who have awakened from 'irreversible' comas than there are innocent people who have been executed in this country.
good video very realistic i believe myself regardless of religion that you should have the right to choose when you die especially when you are under great suffering or pain I mean that's what you would do to an animal with no questions asked shouldn't we have the same rights? you no its like saying we're not privileged enough
amazing and shocking video... very real & clear for those who still do not understand that it is in every persons right to choose what they want or need to do for their confort. Religion should never be related or mixed with this tipe of things. If you don't belive it's right then don't do it, but let other's have the right to choose.
This isn't about God. It's about what's right and what's wrong. Everyone should have the right to die, especially if they are in constant pain and are no longer able to live their life the way they choose.
@tonna15 sorry but i have another view regarding euthanasia. i can't say that this issue isn't about God. its about God because life is God. God gives us this life and only he has the right to take it away from us. i know its hard to say, but everything happens for a reason. Also, this issue isn't only about the right to die but legalizing this gives the person the right to kill. if we look back to the bible, it is clearly written that no one should not kill.
@enteaulysses What about when David killed Goliath? So OBVIOUSLY there are some exceptions. However, you are entitled to your belief. Although, I'm sure that may change if, God forbid, you yourself become bedridden, unable to do the simplest things for yourself (wiping yourself, eating, etc), and full of pain. Then we will see how long you stay on that high horse of yours.
murphyc5, you are my favorite person of the day! I love this video, as I find disappointing that YouTube won't let me rate this video higher than five stars. Wonderfully caring and compassionate point made in this video, and I can tell that you are a very good person by this. Thank you very much for this video.
a person should b able to make their own choices...yet we are disabled from this ability by all those who believe they are privy to some god's knowledge...by their vanity we are left to suffer...some god u have there...the god of mercy? or the god of vanity?
When the death of a disabled infant will lead to the birth of another infant with better prospects of a happy life, the total amount of happiness will be greater if the disabled infant is killed. The loss of happy life for the first infant is outweighed by the gain of a happier life for the second. Therefore, if killing the haemophiliac infant has no adverse effect on others, it would, according to the total view, be right to kill him.......... ---Peter Singer
i support euthanasia and assisted suicide because the victim is suffering and if he or she doesnt want to continue the suffering from depression or w/e, then grant his or her wish by killing them. i honeslty would want euthanasia performed on me if i were suffering and couldn't bear the misery and hardships. it should be legal, its not like murder where one kills another for vengance.
Do you think that pain will end if you kill someone yes may be the pain in the flesh but you forget that the spiritual pain will begin in Hell Cause God said thou shall not kill.Grave is not the End it's just the begining of 4 the eternity. There is Hell my friend hell is real 4 those who live in sin.Why U don't turn 2 God and ask help instead of killing someone Love doesn't kill love is not emotion by killing someone you are sending them quickly 2 Hell. With christ there is hope thereis solution.
I absolutely agree sputnikowns! God can fail people even if they seek 'hope'. But if one can't turn to God, how can God 'save' them? In particular, someone who was Catholic and always chose life, but they had lost consciousness and were in a permanent coma. That is not hope, that is damnation. Damnation upon a person's physical body is far worse than euthanization.

What I find remarkable
is that anyone thinks they have the right
to tell others when to die.
There can be no more intensely personal decision
and it belongs ONLY to the person concerned.
Loved ones can have their opinions,
but REAL love would not require the loved one to suffer
just to make your little heart more comfy.

@itsjoekimmm "..discard the accumulated wisdom of almost all societies of all time"
This is not reason this is a manipulative cliché.
Using this logic, women should still be owned by men
and slavery should be a basic element of our lives.
But as we EVOLVE we make more fully informed decisions.
What you want is a dictatorship
to make sure we all do things Joe's way.
Well, Joe Stalin did that and the results were dismal.
