if its a 3.0 diesel ,the injectors may be faulty ,mine exploded,got new engine from isuzu free ,there are better 4x4s out there ,3.1s solid and petrol ,not very nice when they rev max and u cannot stop it
i have a 2001 trooper 4x2 with 4jx1 engine. it has more than 115,000 km mileage and it still runs superb. not complaints. very satisfied with this suv. hope they make an all-new model
@captace15 I was looking for a plow for mine not to long ago, there is a site where you can put in your vehicle and they show you what plow will work. They showed two that fit, I apologize I cant remember the site. I am sure if you look around a little bit you will find it. I ended up not buying 1 though when I saw what the cost was going to be.
The trooper lineup production was stopped due to the growing concern of stability especially in high speed maneuvering. The trooper also failed numerous "cat tests".. Stabilit issues is due to the unproportionate ground clearance and suspension adaptibility of the vehicle. Bad aerodynamics is also blamed.
dude, it was taken off the production line after 7 years of making that shape, ive had mine for 3 years and had no troubles, also that information is highly inaccurate because i used to work for holden motors and i know for a fact it has a 3 star safety rating, this rating is due to the protection in a head on collision, theres no other vehicle i would rather be in if i was in a head on collision than the trooper, so basicly to sum it all up if u drive safely there will be no problems
Look at any review of the vehicle by any website, the've all tested it, and they all agree that all that consumer reports say it is bullshit. Even myself having owned three troopers, 2 durangos, a ford explorer, excursion and an expiditon know that it's less "tippy" than most SUV's on the market
99 trooper sucks bad not fast not good on gas and mine finally threw a rod with less than 140k miles
