He was supposed to be the link that brought all the separate Final Fantasies together. There was rumor a few years ago that said the final dungeon was supposed to link together all the Final Fantasy games and reveal it to be one super universe of planets millions of years away from each other. Sharing one single common bond, the will to live.

@xXTheGoldenBoy17Xx Necron, in essence, is death its self, death being, in a way, the main enemy of the game. The whole entire theme of the story is the will of one life to live over another, and the inherit fear of death.
