@miketeachkc I think he wanted Saddam gone and used this fake story as a way to get rid of him and his government. But I don't think it was entirely his fault, America sent in biological weapons experts and even they lied about them having weapons of mass destruction. But if its any ones fault it is George Bush's, based on no evidence other than peoples opinions he charged in. And I suspect they would have invaded anyway due to the fact America thought Saddam was linked to al-Qaeda.

The best weapon is one that never needs to be used, but you must be prepared to use it. Really, most of the time they're not killing people, but training. Also, bin Laden was the al-Quaeda guy, and they declared war on the US in 2001. That's why were in Afghanistan. We don't live in a perfect world, that's why we need an army. That way simplistic fools can yell about freedom. Because some soldier earned that right.
The War in Afghanistan was a response to 9-11 and its objective was to destroy Al-Qaeda. The Iraq war was started because he possibility of Iraq employing weapons of mass destruction threatened their security and their allies. That pretty much sums it up in really simple terms. But really, no weapons of mass destruction were found, and much of the evidence of 9-11 points it to being an inside job.
That was due to Osama bin Laden's masterminding of the destruction of the World Trade Center 9-11-01. Remember that? We have been hunting for him and his cronies ever since. To be honest, the mission there DID change. Due to the instability in the region, which existed a LONG time before we got there (remember the USSR there in the 80's?), we don't want to leave a power vacum, that was what caused bin Laden to gain power in the first place. Still, there was justification.
@miketeachkc I admit the removal of Saddam Hussein was needed, his support for Iraq's financial support for the families of Palestinian suicide bombers and the human rights abuse his government committed were atrocities. But there was never any link between him and Al-Qaeda.
We were justified under UN sanctions to go back in and oust Hussein, but did not. Blame that on Clinton. When Bush II came in office (not my favorite, by the way), he tried to justify using WMD's, but I agree that was stupid of him. He should have just used the original UN sanctions, however, it wasn't to "gain oil". Hell, they can sell us all they want, and do. We aren't stealing it. We are in Afghanistan for a different reason.

We are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan for two different reasons. They aren't the same war at all. In 1989, Iraq invaded Kuwait and, with the UN, the United States took part in getting Iraq out of Kuwait. The UN put in place certain restrictions on Iraq, which they broke starting in '92.
First, your opinion is based on errors in information, as well as attitude.
One does not join the military to "kill people for a living". One does it to show that they will not allow others to abuse the freedoms of the innocents in the United States. I guess we could ALL take the view that if NOBODY joined the Army, we would live in peace. That is a totally naive view of how the world works.

But I don't think it was entirely his fault, America sent in biological weapons experts and even they lied about them having weapons of mass destruction. But if its any ones fault it is George Bush's, based on no evidence other than peoples opinions he charged in. And I suspect they would have invaded anyway due to the fact America thought Saddam was linked to al-Qaeda.

The best weapon is one that never needs to be used, but you must be prepared to use it. Really, most of the time they're not killing people, but training. Also, bin Laden was the al-Quaeda guy, and they declared war on the US in 2001. That's why were in Afghanistan. We don't live in a perfect world, that's why we need an army. The War in Afghanistan was a response to 9-11 and its objective was to destroy Al-Qaeda. The Iraq war was started because he possibility of Iraq employing weapons of mass destruction threatened their security and their allies. That pretty much sums it up in really simple terms. But really, no weapons of mass destruction were found, and much of the evidence of 9-11 points it to being an inside job.

That was due to Osama bin Laden's masterminding of the destruction of the World Trade Center 9-11-01. Remember that? We have been hunting for him and his cronies ever since. To be honest, the mission there DID change. Due to the instability in the region, which existed a LONG time before we got there (remember the USSR there in the 80's?), we don't want to leave a power vacum, that was what caused bin Laden to gain power in the first place. Still, there was justification.

We were justified under UN sanctions to go back in and oust Hussein, but did not. Blame that on Clinton. When Bush II came in office (not my favorite, by the way), he tried to justify using WMD's, but I agree that was stupid of him. He should have just used the original UN sanctions, however, it wasn't to "gain oil". Hell, they can sell us all they want, and do. We aren't stealing it. We are in Afghanistan for a different reason.

We are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan for two different reasons. They aren't the same war at all. In 1989, Iraq invaded Kuwait and, with the UN, the United States took part in getting Iraq out of Kuwait. The UN put in place certain restrictions on Iraq, which they broke starting in '92.

NONE. of course its used for things like that no man goes into a war believing he will gain nothing from it. never said that people don't follow there govt blindly. as all groups have there sheep's who will follow blindly. but just like there might actually be a problem there might be an actual better reason than what we believe or have been told by all.

@thejoyofinsanity as no one can truly say they know everything and mean it. and even what we know is very little. hell even those in politics and in those conflicts know very little. in a way we are all blind therefore we shouldn't believe everything we hear,read, feel, and see. all we can do is do what we can for what we believe in.
