what about smart drives in washing machines? im not sure what brands besides fisher&paykel have these? but looks like 100 watts+at 200 rpm, do u know of any forums for wind power that could be helpful?
could u use 2 ametek motors, 1 on top 1 on bottom, to get more watts?, i've been researching these, and i cant build a hawt because of restrictions in my area, but was looking into low wind alternatives and it seems a vawt may be the way to go
how bout if it was mounted with magnets in a way to make no friction or little friction, would it still need to be bigger? im new to this, so be gentle :)
I saw a video where a guy took a motor from a drill and hooked it up to a wind turbine and was getting 24v :) with a very, very small motor.
I've gutted an old ryobi 18v cordless drill and kept the motor and I'm gonna try your design on a small scale.

i am thinking of using a wind blue pm generator, looks like it gives off about 100 watts at 275 rpm, what kinda wind spped is needed for this?

i would suggest to biuld one of my V8-4"
it should not cost more than $100.00
you need 30 kmh wind to get 100watt using windblue with my V8.

you can do that but you need to biuld it a bit bigger otherwise a small one will not be able to sistain rotation under demand.

i accually have my v8-4" suspened using 8 ring magnets. you should see the other videos. it showed how i did it. very simple no friction.

what kind of watts are you getting from your vawt? Do you have a Battery bank..
very nice turbine.. thanks for your videos..

i did not get much power, it was like 12watt at 10kmh, i was not sure because i did not have the tools to messure it correctlly.
Now i am waiting for rpm speed gauge and wind speed gauge and ones i get them i am going to collect proper data.
thanks

nice turbine. Im in process of building a small VAWT myself but my motor rpm is too high spec. What ametek ado you have?
