@cat22203 Grow a heart, please! I really can't see her as power-hungry...I would say she was a victim of chronic emotional abuse. Aside from the affair, a woman who wasn't afraid of her husband wouldn't have worried about him not getting to run for office because SHE was dying...she'd have told him that he could wait and run again when she was dead if it was that important to him. And the fact she stayed quiet for him about the affair shows this so-called love was actually just bullying.

This could've been a great interview. Couric skirts the health care issue to say that Ms. Edwards is facing death. Couric's contribution to the ratings game has always been as dismal as her reporting. The Today Show has always had good ratings in spite of her due to strong affiliates, stability, channel placement, promotions and adjacent programming. Even then ratings were slipping and but CBS's are in the cellar. Don't worry about how to say goodbye, Katie. Your audience beat you to it.

I'm not a big Katie Couric fan, but considering the fact that she lost a spouse to cancer when she had very young children, she was the ideal person for this interview. I hardly consider her questions to be an attack.

Elizabeth Edwards is media savvy enough to know exactly what type of questions she would be asked. She wasn't forced to do the interview.

This poor woman is dealing with so much and she has been brave enough to speak publicly about it. She did not need Katie to second guess and attack her every step of the way - not to mention the unnecessary comments like 'you're staring at possible death' and 'are you terrified you might lose your wife' and rubbing it in that her children are so young.
