@est1830 I have been in the train and the stations looks very modern and pretty build. But the walk from the stations to the concourses is kinda far for people who are not really good walking. They have the walking escalators, but if you are late and in a hurry that could be a problem. I am not going to fly anymore to IAD, cause United is changing the airplane. We use to fly 777, but on sept 1st it will be continental and an smaller plane. SO bye bye IAD.

@est1830 I see, but the international terminal is very nice at Dulles. I have been there and especially the Qatar airways lounge is pretty. I hope Dulles is going to renovate the other concourse just like that, because it is no comparison.

I guess my comment to this poor guy who dislikes flying so much is, if you do not like airports so much, why not drive to where you want to go? You can take a mere four to five days to go from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles.

@bluepanther1011 I put that on everything....... I started like at 4:30am on the 26th.....took the I-70 all the way out to St.louis( that was the day MJ died). Then the I-44 down to OKLA. City. Camp out at a motel for like 7 hrs. Than the next morning I took the I-40 all the way to Barstow then the I-15 n I-10 from there......so I got to LA at like 2:30 am on the 28th

First off, the commentary for this video is stupid.

Dulles Airport was very cool for its time. It was built in the very early 1960's and I used to love when those people movers used to take you directly to your plane sitting on the tarmac. They built the airside terminals in the 80's and 90's and a lot of the coolness of riding on the people movers and transferring directly onto the plane was gone.

If you don't like the airport, you have two others to choose from. BWI and National.

Dulles isn't as bad as you think. It's clean, nice, and has great service. I mean, sure the people movers are weird and crowded, but they're getting replaced. Every time I've flown out of Dulles, my flights were always on time. It wasn't the same at Reagan. My flight was delayed. I would fly out of Dulles over Reagan any time.

dulles is a very nice airport, yeahh the people movers are kinda annoying but they are trying there best and putting in the new AeroTrain. Dulles dosn't have grub food, if they wanted to do that they would of put a McDonalds in, but they didn't... They have your regular food chains like Potbellys, Five Guys and ect...

Airline food is there own problem not Dulles' problem... I should know if it a good airport becuase I fly out of Dulles mulitple times a year..

Dulles isn't as efficient as it could be - especially Customs, but keep in mind that this part of the country as exploded in population over the last 20 years. Next year the "People Mover" underground train will open & the moon buggies will retire. Also, I have yet to go to an airport, which featured 4-star dining. BTW, there are other alternatives to American Airlines, such as United, Virgin, or Delta - maybe you've heard of them. If not look them up.

the original point of the people movers (Mobile Lounges), was to make the walk to your plane as short as possible. Original specifications in the 50's and 60s were that you walked 200 feet from the entrance to your plane (which is why they rise, to make it compatible with each plane) In fact, you may see some of the people movers attached to British Airways or Saudi Arabian Airways. The inefficiency of the people movers is why they are putting in the AeroTrain.

btw you pay an extra $15 to check your bags at other airports in the states to on American. This aint just Dulles. Dulles is actually one of the better airports in the country, along with BWI.

Airports like Dubai, Singapore or Hong Kong are 100x better than Dulles. I fly to Dulles from Amsterdam many times for work meetings. The new subway looks nice at Dulles aiport but way out inconvienience for people who are not able to walk from the subway to terminals.
