Does the Schuricke in the titel refer to Rudy Schuricke the Tenor.

In accordance with the strict rules of Goebbel's "Reichskulturkammer" the English title "Penny serenade" had to be changed to German.
The "Lambeth walk" became "Lamberts Nachtlokal", "Tiger Rag" was to be heard as "Schwarzer Panther".

This group sounds like The Sons of the Pioneers, as does the music. Did American cowboy movie music influence European pop music in the 30s?

In my opinion the "Pfenniglied" does only by chance sound similar to American cowboy movie music - it is hard to believe that American cowboy movie music did actually influence European pop music in the 30s.

This song was a big succes before the war. "Penny Serenande" in English, "Sérénade sans espoir" in French. Schuricke-Terzett is great!
