  • All I see is jiu jitsu beating Jiu jitsu

  • @Alake1228 amen

  • TOOL!!!!

  • I personally am a GJJ guy for life nothing more I look up to Eddie as my hero he tapped out a sixth degree black belt when he was a brown belt that means royler was doing jiujitsu before Eddie had even heard about it he won with a Jean jeaque techiqnue and no one would ever take this win from him

  • Seriously, don't call it a fluke. i bet you Eddie could do it again. Royler was supposed to go to sleep. But instead he tapped out, disgracing his family. AND EDDIE BRAVE CAUSED THAT

! That can't be fluke. Judging by how great all Gracie's are. Eddie is better.

  • JAIL BREAK !... TWICE ! what's there to argue when you see it twice?! that's what took this fight & I don't know why everyone doesn't love it.

  • Marijuana saves the day!! Smoke weed kids.

  • why are all the Gracie fanboys so butthurt? royler lost. BJJ isnt a sport or fighting style with much or any luck involved. take your loss, stop whining and give some props to eddie who won. with skill.

  • Is it me or was this just a basic triangle that won the match - nothing 10th planet about it?

  • @kelly980 you clearly don't know noting about the rubber guard, mission control, crack head control, retard control, zombie ,all 10th Planet JJ techniques all tried and tested in this match, sure the triangle ended the fight but all the 10th Planet JJ techniques brought him to that triangle. Peace!

  • @TheFierForjat "sure the triangle ended the fight". Gotcha.

  • @kelly980

"See one buzz word, reply to only it, Profit?"

Since when can a triangle not be used?

Eddie bravo used the technique to beat him.

It should be even more impressive if you think the gracies are to thank for the technique.

  • @TheFierForjat i'll explain my resistance to bravo's style - i'm not particularly flexible - and i can just about do the traditional stuff. so i'm looking to see that the basics are just as useful

  • I feel like Royler Gracie has this vibe to him that sais hey its ok just go with it let me just submit you.

  • @umswagger From the ADCC rules: "Slamming can be used only in order to prevent a submission. Otherwise is considered as illegal."

I think by the time the submission was in place, Royler no longer had the proper leverage to lift Bravo, or would probably have been too fatigued by that point to do it successfully.

  • love it. 1. Head control. 2. 90 degree arm on the shin. 3. Shoot the legs for triangle. 4. Grab ankle and stretch or upper body all the way. 5.Adjust your foot til u get the figure 4. 6. finish. Always the basic but that works.

  • Those traditional gi guys are idiots. They think training with a gi makes them better for no-gi. Hell no... if you train just as hard and as often no-gi then you'll be better in no-gi competition.

They are just scared that their traditional ways will be lost because of the rise of mma so they'll defend the gi at all costs (and with stupid arguments I might add). Their logic is flawed.

  • @IamAlwaysRight

    Agree

  • Bravo bravo Eddie !!!

  • the beginning looks like a cobra taking on a cat. no homo

  • @thetruthlaw why should somebody refer cobra and cat to homo?

  • Good fight but worst editting ever.

  • I wouldn't call choking out arguably the best Gracie in his prime, a fluke. Sorry

  • @Zenmetsu89 It took what 8 minutes...your boy couldn't do anything! Stuck and not even mobile....until being choked out! Call it straight!

  • @AustinNYC01 You just made it obvious that you don't know how to read, I stated that Eddie Bravo choking out Royler was -not- a fluke, stay in school kiddo. Reading comprehension? Tough stuff.

  • Some folks can call it a fluke all they want, but FACE FACTS... on that day, EDDIE BRAVO BEAT ROYLER GRACIE. 10th Planet BEAT Traditional BJJ.

  • I like eddie, i really do. But this video is a fluke, because eddie would never beat royler again...if u know any thing about bjj u know that basic bjj will over ride all of that 10th planet stuff, eddie has flexibility but roylers basics will be too much for him because eddies system is good...but he's left out so much fundamental aspects until its ridiculous

  • @Gamedogg89 eddie's bjj is more ideal for no gi grappling/mma

  • @Gamedogg89 The sport is changing bitch! and for the better nothing can stop that son. What the fuck u say? defeating Royler was a fluke? my stomach is hurting from laughter! ahahaha!

  • TOOL

  • Horribly edited, just post the match next time not re show every move 3 times

  • @zack3c i kind of like the re-shows, it highlights very suttle but key moments, like the regaining of half gaurd with super flexibility.

  • i used to train at 10th planet burbank and most of the instructors smoked weed too. but what ever they were good ass teachers, and the students are very talented

  • i thought eddie beat royce gracie

  • amazing song choice

  • @JamezFromMaine

    what song is that?

  • @rayruiz12345 Tool - Pushit

  • @sfitzen

    thanks man

  • wow you're all fail. none of u know shit of what you're even talking about. drugwise, jiu jitsu wise, or just in general for that matter. so do every1 a favor n stfu n quit acting like u know the meaning of anything.

  • @theGroveMan Ok so obviously have a computer in front of you so fucking use it do a little bit of research about marijuana just because you smoke doesnt make you any worse than drinking alcohol ok (rant over )

  • Evolution of jiu jitsu

  • Lol at both of you tards fighting back and forth

  • @theGroveMan And for the record, Eddie started smoking at age 24. He fought Royler at 33. By his own admission, he was high when he did just about everything you praised him for.

  • @theGroveMan He didn't invent the Twister and never said he did. He learned it in high school wrestling. The reason Eddie is famous for it is because he was the first one to use it in Jiu-Jitsu competitions. And oh yeah, guy. Weed has degenerated Eddie. Being one of the most talked about people in martial arts, having over 2 dozen affiliates worldwide and an army of dedicated and insanely talented students. That's a real downward slide.

  • Great technique. The old (ball-sweat chloroform) works every time.

  • @theGroveMan No. You don't. I can see your picture. But! Back to the point. You have likely never rolled with any 10th Planet student or even rolled at all. You have no idea how the rubber guard even works, do you? You probably watched one UFC show and think you know everything about Jiu-Jitsu. Get off the internet. Go read a book. Hell, go read one of Eddie's books. Learn what 10th Planet is about and THEN make your judgment.

  • @theGroveMan No no. My worst nightmare is the one where I get stabbed by Jay Leno. You're just an internet geek who thinks he's a tough guy.

  • @theGroveMan ...and you are?

  • @theGroveMan i dont smoke "joints" but fuck it right. So the rubber guard aint your fav, no biggie. But you cant say that shit dont work, its still working.

  • @theGroveMan so says the guy talking shit behind a computer

  • What song is this??

  • @theGroveMan I don't know about that, he set up that triangel after pcyching him out with all that mission control.

  • Plz don't argue with some fat shit in his basement about BJJ. Honestly, those who have no respect for a combat sport are those who haven't been in the gym. Once some 135 pound white belt hands this faggot back his arm his world would change.

  • @BIGthingsSON Well said, I am wasting my time.

  • Think both of you guys need to quit arguing

  • Sometimes I pee on the side of the toilet to make less noise.

  • name of song please guys!!!!!!

  • that was amazing

  • TOOL the band

  • How can a Gracie not know how to defend against a Triangle. He panicked. He was supposed to step over with his foot to relieve pressure.

  • @MPA2000 Im pretty sure the first time he tried to step over eddie had a hold of his ankle so if he lost balance and fell back. then I think the second time he tried to step over eddie used his forward momentum to keep royler falling forward and then to the side but Im not 100% sure it just kinda looked like that

  • He did good - he was unable to repeat his success against other jiu-jitsu players. He lost his matches immedietly after losing this one. he should give him self a pat on the back but should not gloat as if he was able to do it on a regular basis. the match is pretty cool and I think the triangle was on point.

  • @wiggalama

Sounds like your one of the stereotypical BRAVO worshippers. None of the things in that post (judo beating BJJ???) can be even slightly substantiated. The whole reason the system spends more time on the ground is searching for a FIGHT ENDER (choke/armlock) because a throw doesn't always end the fight. Also, "submission grappling" or whatever you want to call it IS JIU JITSU

  • @dcome94

There is plenty to say about the Gracie's; but don't compare Bravo's "accomplishments" to theirs. Bravo is responsible for proliferating his BRAND and HIS PERSONAL jitz game, and his high-school bad-boy schtick. He is probably responsible for more people losing interest in the art than anyone else. He doesn't deserve a rematch against someone he BEAT, that makes NO SENSE, if anything he needs to fight Vieira

  • Well done.

  • TOOL FOR THE WIN!

  • @Sparky041092 hell yeah, pushit

  • @javafreak257 great song great band

  • how long did hoyler suck on eddies dick at the end?

  • Bravo can't fight MMA :-) turned down a MMA fight with Royler even though he made a system to "revolutionize Jiu jitsu for MMA". he is the epitome of bottom-game butt-scoot jiu jitsu

  • @lsloewen2 bravo turned down the fight because hes not a fighter dumbass. eddie admits himself that hes not an athlete. how the fuck can you say that when royler just turned down eddie's rematch at adcc. seriously stfu and show some respect. eddie dedicated his life to jiu jitsu just as much as any gracie so stop bitching. eddie beat royler and royler doesnt want a rematch so hes better plain and simple.

  • Any fag who talks shit about this needs to role a little more because im fuckn tired after watching this!!

  • I just uploaded the full fight with no song up to my channel :D

  • What a fight...Eddie showed some heart!

  • @420CESAR91 Wtf?

  • I really hate all the replays in this video.... Just let me watch the stupid thing!

  • @420CESAR91 yh i understand, eddie was ment to face royler at this year's abu dabi but royler wants too much money. plus eddie is too old for mma now but trust me i will love to see eddie bravo smash dudes with the rubberguard in mma. eddie was thinking of going mma before he opened up his school but once his school opened his school he was making enogh money so he didnt need to go mma jus like marcelo garcia

  • @420CESAR91 eddie's rubber guard here was good but he's rubber guard today is DEATH there is no getting out of it until he taps you or sweeps you

  • He didnt use rubber guard then you idiots ><

  • That guy in back at 0:36 is mean lol

  • Anyone invited to fight in the ADCC is serious and someone to be reckoned with....they don't let chumps into that tournament!!

  • 1. NEVER in your fucking life do you complain about the choice of music when it's Tool. 2. Stop hating on Eddie. His career was built off way more than this one win. Oh, and Royler didn't just "slip up", he was controlled. Deal with it.

  • meh, fucking music!

  • Wish everyone could know how significant that was at the time.....

  • How many Americans have won the ADCC?

I know Bj Penn won the Mundiales.

  • @WolfmanDan2012 jeff monson

  • @hallokity123 thanks

  • @WolfmanDan2012 Dean Lister, Mark Kerr, Monson, Sean Alvarez

  • @918Anon thanks

  • HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE EDDIE BRAVO|!!!!!!!!!

  • i watch this video once a day for cherrr inspiration

  • Lol!!!!!

  • whats the name of the song????????

  • that is one TIGHT head and arm control

  • this match is soo inspiring

  • Best pothead in Jiu jitsu

  • @dilatedxx best player in jiu jitsu period. and he's a heavy cannabis user. weed power!!!

  • Look at how decorated of a grappler Royler is compared to Eddie. Everyone can make a mistake and get caught. But Eddie made a career of one match and people bought into it.

  • @MrSmitht04 eh.. how about you just go die some where preferably in a gutter or a land field.. k

  • Eddie caught the golden goose with this win. Real shame Royler punked out of the ADCC rematch. Good music with this too, well done. Now off to find the full fight.

  • Sakuraba subbed Royler 4 years prior and went on to defeat plenty of Gracie's and outgrapple tons of other MMA practioners, why isn't more attention given to his grappling style rather than someone who has never (that I know of or has been documented) even been in a real fight.

  • @TheArcuda

    All true.

  • I really hope these two locks horns again at the ADDC as my tickets are booked - I'm gonna cum in my pants if this goes down.

  • @cpnkd7 Not happening Royler backed out of the rematch

  • @SatanicalEve

    Typical! Not a happy chappie.

  • mexican tapped a brazilian, no disrespect to brazilians but i'd never thought i wid see it.. wen was this video recorded?

  • That triangle looked awful, nothing in jiu jitsu should ever take that much energy, I wonder if the choke was even in or if Royler was worried about Bravo breaking his jaw from the squeeze.

  • I think this event started the trend of people being very paranoid about who they get tapped by publically tapped by. I'm a blue and will occasionally get caught by a crafty white belt, I'm sure it's the same with blacks getting caught by crafty browns. Now it's a career changer.

  • both of these guys are legends , much respect!

  • You gotta be quite the somebody to fuck with Bravo...

  • DONT BE SCARED ROMIE!

  • shitty quality, shitty music, stopped watching 0:05

  • notice how Eb always likes to go to that half guard to set up his moves

  • The problem is You do not invent body motions. That is like asking who invented the splits

Eddie gives credit where it's due. He's been on Rogan's podcast a few time and explains a lot about his technique. He was just the first one to "systemize" it and implement it in teachings.

About Royler - Bravo was training the Sheik and Sheik called Royler for the rematch and he accepted. He did a few interviews then said he wanted 50K just to show up on top of a 25k win bonus and this was after he

  • Come on people, this Eddie Bravo is overrated, he is nothing but a fake Nino "Elvis" Schembri. Wanna learn rubber guard ? Type Nino schembri :)

  • @enricoyo wtf show me one just ONE video where Nino uses the rubber guard, dumbass

  • Comment removed

  • fuck the gracies

  • TOOL!!

  • @Daltonx317x So let me see if i understand you correctly..Eddie raised his hands after one of the biggest upsets in jiujitsu history (which i assume is what you were talking about by being disrespectful).. So then Leo Viera (arguably the best grappler in the world).. went in to teach him a lesson.. But to everyones suprise.. even he was unable to submit eddie. (who entered this tournament as a brown belt..) You're right..That Rubberguard he never even attempted against leo is obviously crap >.>

  • Looks like Royler is ducking Eddie, again.

  • eddie crying the end thats how much that ment to him you watch the rematch the eddie now is 10000times bettter than this eddie, eddie bravo to win 75% of the time in my opinion

  • I honestly am not the BIGGEST eddie bravo fan. Nor do I hate him of course not. But nobody can question that this guy genuinely applied his style of jitz that he created in this match and it worked. The rubber guard, his side control escape, the lockdown. This was a really cool match and awesome display of technique by Eddie B. Cant wait for the rematch.

  • Fuckin eh! So many keyboard rollers out there.Just because you took a few BJJ classes doesnt mean youre a fuckin expert. Just keep wrestling with your drunk buddies in the basement. (Oh ya and pay for the UFC events).

  • So what if he disrespected Royler! What the Gracie's have never disrespected other

competitors or rivals??? C'mon people! Wake up! This is the REAL WORLD not

a SMALL WORLD.Go the F**K back to Disneyland! CRYBABIES!!!! WAAAHHHH !!

    WAAAHHHH!!! WAAAHHHH!!!

  • I don't know why people think he was disrespectful after the match, i didn't see it. I'vehung out with Eddie a couple of times at local seminars he never struck me as that type, what i saw was Eddie being very excited he sub'd a high level Gracie

  • It really shows the lack of knowledge that most of you people have when you disrespect Eddie Bravo, why can't he have his credit. Disrespectful haha, ok if being excited and amazed is disrespectful you guys are sore losers. This guy did something that none of you can, and he deserves his fame.

  • I have much respect for Eddie. But the Gracies are always out there competing and proving that they are the best. Leo, Marcello, Robert Drysdale, Jacare, all of these guys prove it time and time again. Anyone can lose a match or two, but try beating the best in the world consecutively.

  • Eddies the man his ideas on pot smoking make him that much better

  • I guess after Sakuraba ripped his arm off, he preferred to tap

  • He didnt even place at abu dhabi.

  • No body tells the otherside of this story.

After eddie won he was very disresctful in beat royler ''a legend and innovator of the sport". On the sidelines was Leo Viera arguably the best grappler in the world next to Marcelo garcia was sitting on the other side of the matt saw the disrespect. Well eddie was scheduled to go against Viera next. Now watch that video. It may have been the biggest ass kicking ive ever seen at abu dhabi. Look up that vid and see how rubberguard is BS!

  • @Daltonx317x you're a big nobody. shut the fuck up please and go shoot some more heroin on the beach.

  • @bizzle187 What do you know about jiu jitsu?

  • @Daltonx317x

i didnt know he was disrespectful, how ?

& also, the rubber gaurd is NOT bs, this video is like 9 yrs ago when eddie was still a brown belt & was tappin out black belts, the rubber gaurd is definitely NOT bs, we're starting to see more of the rubber gaurd be utilized in MMA

  • @Daltonx317x Did you realize that eddy at this time was a brown belt? In a tournament full of world champion Black Belts that were black belts before eddy began even training. This is why this was so amazing. And where can I find proof of this disrespect you are talking about? I don't see it anywhere I look for videos or read.

  • @Daltonx317x or the story where Eddie was a brown belt facing two dominant black belts before he ever even started? Then he beats royler legitimately making him tap AND he didnt even get close to being submitted by viera all that viera did was put on a guard passing clinic which was edies weakness at the time if thats the biggest ass kicking uve seen u dont get out much and how in the fuck is rubberguard BS? he was able to control Royler with it and even Viera had a hard time dont be so buthurt

  • Thanks for posting. I just bought a book by Eddie on the rubber guard and it's cool to see him in action. Great song choice, too.

  • I read that many people were claiming that Eddie "got lucky" when he beat Royler!!

Please! He was skillful & patient.Plain & Simple.I'd like to see them go at it again.

  • @CarlosMacMartin royler would wipe the floor with him and eddie knows it!

  • @adamsbeer Wipe the floor with him? Is that so? Didn't look like he was wiping anything in this video.

  • @CarlosMacMartin LOL!! This video is like the bible to 10th planet guys...

  • @adamsbeer I wouldn't know about that.I'm not a 10th Planet practitioner and I'm not a person who believes that BJJ has all the answers,or the "ultimate martial art".

I just call things like I see them..regardless of what people think.I'm open to hand to

hand, sticks, knives, guns, grappling, trapping,or using anything that is available.

  • PEOPLE NEED TO GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!!!!!

  • cmon guys, anyone who has ever tapped a gracie (especially royler who had never been tapped in no-gi grappling, ever) in a jiu jitsu match is definately world class. why shouldn't he create a jiu jitsu system and make a living off of it. seriously what more do yu want the guy to do?! he never said he was the best, he's just really interesting to watch, like aoki.

  • never has a career been built on so little.

  • So how many times have you tapped Royler?

  • @moroniclefty the problem is not to tap someone , the problem is to talk that for 9 years

  • @patolento If I tapped a Gracie, I'd be talking about it for a lot longer than 9 years. I'd be 89, in a nursing home shitting myself hourly, wouldn't even recognize my kids thanks to the Alzheimer's and I'd STILL be boring the shit out of the orderlies with the same fucking story I'd tell day after day about how I caught a Gracie in a triangle and made him my bitch. My nurse would be so fucking sick of me telling that story that she'd start twitching everytime someone said 'Jiu-jitsu'.

  • @moroniclefty It was a fine story until you said "and made him by bitch". That is disrespect plain and simple.

  • @gcbarone It was a joke. Lighten up.

  • @moroniclefty lofl!!

  • @moroniclefty Your are a typical product of Gracie worshipping. The Gracies have been getting pwned by Judo for decades and more recently both Judo and Submission Grappling with some of the former and especially the later being Bravo here today. And for that matter, long term grappling is not done in Judo for a reason, cause its stupid sport nonsense. Get real guy.

  • @wiggalama So how many gracies have you tapped out? Yeah, that's what I thought.

Next time you want to accuse someone of 'worshipping", you need to look at what they are saying. Btw nobody gives a shit about judo. How many judo guys you see excelling in MMA? None, they all get their asses kicked at high levels. Oh, and Royler hasn't been tapped before or after Eddie. So you're wrong there as well.

  • @moroniclefty I don't care about sport victories that much. What matters is did you do something that would have most likely worked against said opponent in a street fight, not doing something gay as unsetup long term grappling. BJJ is a direct rip off of Judo Newaza, and I challenge you to find a BJJ guy who will say otherwise. The Judo ideology and direct application fighters are most of the UFC's champions even, including Anderson Silva himself. Judo by itself, like any grappling, is lacking.

  • @wiggalama dude your talking goofy nonsense, there is something called sport jiu jitsu and in there you'll see stuff people will never do in an actual street fight like the 50/50 guard, upside down guard, anaconda guard, de la riva guard. so a jiu jiutsu practitioner will use basic things in an actuall street fight like you see in mma like the mount, taking the back, some will use the modified mount as well. bjj is one of the most effective martial art for self defense

  • @wiggalama Bjj ir far more practical in a real fight and in self defense, and that's why it works far more often in the sport of fighting. And learn your history, BJJ is not a rip off of any judo. It's an adaptation of Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Just ask the Gracies, who invented it. And nope, you're wrong about Anderson, his base in BJJ and Muay Thai. He's got his black belt from the Nog brothers, who got theirs from those gracies you hate so much.

  • @wiggalama By the way, how exactly is it that I am worshipping the Gracies just by declaring that tapping one out is a great achievement? Exactly how many Gracies have you tapped out? Until you tap one, maybe you should shut your mouth before running it allover youtube.

  • @moroniclefty Such an extremely limited sport victory proves little. Gifted though Eddie is(and weak as BJJ is) winning a grappling tournament proves little for real fighting. Its like saying that by winning a boxing match you understand street fighting. I don't want to "tap" any gracie in any way....except that one chick gracie, cause DAAAAMN SHE FINE :D

  • @wiggalama listen high level mma fighters or pro boxers will always win in street fights against stupid fucks, look at kimbo won all that street fight but got butt raped against mitrione and seth petruzelli and they are not the elite mma fighters.

  • @poganla123 I never said that BJJ couldn't work against amateurs, since most only use boxing and wrestling in a street fight cause most people don't know how to fight. But against a skilled opponent, say trying that in Afghanistan when your gun jams, good luck :D Kimbo had a massive conditioning advantage and lost 1 against a skilled police officer. While Mitrione took advantage of the rules and caught by the punchers chance in his first MMA fight, the loss to that one guy on UC was realistic.

  • @wiggalama Nothing limited about it. I never said that grappling tournaments = real fighting. I said that Judo is not as applicable as BJJ is to real fighting. But telling me that I'm a "Gracie worshipper" because I recognize the HUGE contribution they made to grappling, and how incredibly talented Royler is, is just outright ridiculous. You should put up or shut up when it comes to inane statements such as that.

  • @wiggalama And again, if I'm a "Gracie worshipper" because I claimed that I would celebrate tapping out a Gracie, then I ask you one more time, how many times have you tapped out Royler? I'd love a numerical answer to this, but we both already know it. It's zero.

Cracks me up when people with no real world accomplishments in a particular arena run their mouth about people who have achieved legendary status in said arena.

  • @moroniclefty I don't have to defeat an unworthy opponent to know that they are unworthy. And I have beaten a BJJ grappler and 2 submission grapplers, but it was under the circumstance of a street fight cause they where the ones misusing MMA and where on steriods. I don't need accomplishments in sport, I am a special forces canidate under the 18x program and I am US Army, let the children play there games, but fighting is about killing and winning, nothing else.

  • @wiggalama That's what I thought. Zero. You DO have to defeat an opponent to say that someone is a "worshipper" just because they would celebrate defeating said opponent. As for your BJJ grappler, give me their name and phone number or their name and the academy they train. I want to see the credentials of these "BJJ grapplers" you beat because methinks you are full of shit.

  • @moroniclefty And besides, something that just occurred to me is that how applicable BJJ is to real fighting is irrelevant for the purposes of this discussion. I was merely stating how accomplished Royler is in the sport of submission grappling. For this you chose to respond to me months after I make the comment? Do you truly have no life at all?
