  • Southern Air was pretty heavy...

  • The cargo aircraft use Anchorage as a base to refuel from as they continue towards thier destinations in Asia.

  • So much cargo and so few people in Alaska . I wonder who needs all that stuff?

    Great video!

  • @williewill037 Besides you can reach nearly every destination in the asian and american area from PANC nonstop. For that reason PANC is a good hub for cargo as well

  • Why are there so many cargo airplanes??

  • nice american airlines 737 retro

  • @japancoolness

Actually that's an Alaska Airlines retro plane. It's called the Starliner 75, and was painted to celebrate their 75th anniversary in business. It's one of 7 or 8 specially painted planes they operate, and is my favorite of all. Very sharp looking plane. I've flown on it and seen it many times. Still just a 737 inside, but a pretty plane to behold.

  • Cathay Pacific A340!!!

  • Love it!

  • cool vid

  • Superb! Love all the wing fog. I imagine the crab and fishing industry in general bring in a lot cargo flights as well.

  • That is some prime seating for aircraft viewing!! "drool"

  • Nice video!

I'm just wondering how you get axis inside of the airport ?

I would be glad if you could tell me = )

  • @pilotdynan Axis? You mean access?

  • Nice Clips!

How cold is it in Ak when this clips is filmed? look realy cold? Waths the normal temperature in Ak? From Norway :)

  • looks like hub for cargo aircraft

  • Great video! It show the other side of commercial aviation. The air freight world is also fantastic. Keep up!

  • OMG??!!! are u a plane freak??!!

  • Dam that Southern Air at 5:15 is HEAVY!! ..and hats off to the guy who braved the elements to shoot this :)

  • Good work, thanks. ;-)

  • OMG, THE AMOUNT OF HEAVIES THAT GO TO ANCHORAGE

  • Why havent I seen that kind of Alaska Airlines plane from 0:00 - 0:10

  • 4:55 why didnt you grab a ride on that winglet??? LOL. grewat video!!! beautiful!!!! i am hoping to move to anchorage this summer and my dad said we could live within a mile away from the airport!!! lots and lots of cargo comes in anchorage and juneau becuase alaska is all just wildlife, and no products besides crab, salmon and other marine life off the coast.

  • AMAZING! I want to go to there and look these plane take off and landing.

  • WOW,just Wonderful! I love this airport,i've never been in there before but i would love to go....Comparing to the other takeoffs that Southern Air Jumbo was very heavy, wasn't it? O.O And that NAC 727 sounded pretty strange to me...is that a variant with different engines???

  • this was posted on my b-day!!!!!

  • the best one is that 747 at 4:31..just awesome!

  • @MrElSatan Totaly agree. That dude just torments thosose treverse thrusters like theres no tomorrow...From 120 to 5 mph in like 10 sec with a fully loaded 7heavy. Not to shabby...

  • 0:17 best part

  • Beautiful video, perfect in every way, and around airport scenery is extraordinary

  • Gotta be the world's freight dog capital!

  • Beautiful landscape around the airport.

  • Looks like all the aircrafts pass the sound barrier during takeoffs and landings.

  • 3:23 very nice pic!!!

  • Nice Alaska ops I've been to Alaska, i could feel the cold from here..LOL

  • love to see those vapor trails on landings and take-offs...

  • love to see how does reverse thrust work on the snow!!!!

  • love the video..

  • Any passenger airlines? they were all cargo why?

  • Anchorage does serve passengers, but mostly it is a huge cargo airline hub.

  • @tirdadbet the first 2 planes were passenger

    The first a Alaska 737, the second a A340

  • @hamlett15 Sure is and it almost looks like a 343 but I could be misstaking.

  • awesome reverse from both the eva's the 747 and the md11 great stuff

  • amazing video, looks like a fantastic airport for planespotting.. if u can stand in that cold temperature long LOL love all those md11's and the northwest 747 looks really cool but old and shabby

  • Great Video, looks Bloody Cold though.

  • What a perfect JAL CARGO land !!!

  • @dymeksk8 probly cause he had autoland on....

  • Nice video!! i live close to the end of the runway i get a great view of the planes taking off.

  • Dc6 what a beauty !!!

  • I love the Cathay Pacific A340 takeoff. The engines sound so cool and the airline ROCKS!!!!!

  • I agree.

  • lots of cargo beauties

  • I like the korean air 747-400F take-off. Nice Video!

  • I great place to see 747-200's! They sound the best.

  • this mmight sound stupid..but are there on passenger planes at anchorage?

  • Yes did you see cathey in the begin thats one an a lot alaska;) and more but i dont know them

  • there's tons of passanger traffic at ANC, but its small compared to the freight traffic. Anchorage ia a major refuel point for trans-pacific flights flying great circle routes (i.e. japan, korea, etc.) thus many many 747s etc carrying freight. Used to see fedex and UPS there a lot too!

  • cool

  • Awesome!! video. Nice job!

  • I like that Cathay Pacific A340 taking off. Nice video!

  • second that

  • Outstanding, thank you.

  • amazing video...congratulations.5/5

  • Very Nice video !!!

  • This DVD sample is just as good as the JFK DVD.

  • As a student Air Traffic Controller, I would love to work at this airport, but it's way too cold in Anchorage!

  • another great vid from just planes i might buy it myself great seein a good variety of asian cargo carriers in one airport keep it up!! :)

  • Excellent -- I really like the IMC takeoffs, and I don't know if another video shows so many MD-11s (a very photogenic airplane). Detailed sound impressive too!

  • cool this is awsome

  • I did a spotting trip to ANC back in 2005, fantastic place and I would love to head back.

  • 777-200 and A330 ARE THE BEST

  • The 747s are the most majestic...

  • I wonder what passenger service, besides Alaska Airlines, flies out of Anchorage on a regular basis. What about Canadian airlines like Air Canada, Jazz, WestJet and those passenger airlines that are based here in the USA?

  • Besides Alaska Airlines, China Airlines, Delta, Continental, US Airways, and Northwest all offer year-round passenger service out of Anchorage International. Air Canada, American, Frontier, and Condor all operate seasonally.

  • Northwest/Delta, Continental, and US Airways. Seasonal United, Sun Country, and Frontier ti name a few

  • Love it, especially that NW Cargo 742! Just love the sound of those old Pratts at full power as they approach and pass you by!

  • Nice!

  • When was this filmed?

  • 1995, 2000, 2007 and 2008

  • Technical stops vary. Some airlines add just fuel to get to there next destination (allowing for more cargo weight), which can take about an hour. Or they can offload and onload more cargo, which can take a few hours. At UPS, we tried for a 45 minute turn -- offload the entire plane, then onload again for departure.

  • I miss my job there... i wouldnt mind working there again after the AF.

  • Just wondering howcome most aircraft on video are cargo aircraft. What about passenger aircraft?

  • ANC is where these freighters make their technical stopovers on their way to Asia

  • Technical Stopovers?

    How long does that takes?

  • Fueling.. crew change... however long they schedule it for...

  • Amazing! Great close ups. But what's with all the cargo flights? Does Alaska export snow?

  • Great Video!

    Thanks

  • How is that possible?? I am still in disbelief on how that actually happened. Thank God for You Tube because moments like these would never get exposure. haha!

  • that is a great video. Thank you.

  • Really a nice vid - thanks for posting

  • Beautiful this video nothing to say !

  • lol at :40 the plane dissappears

  • OMG at 0:40 the airplane dissappears.

  • wonderrful video !!

  • Wow, beautiful video!

  • Snow Plowers!!!!

  • Wonderful video!

  • DC10 super 30`s actually

  • I've been there many times. It is awesome flying into Anchorage! Very pretty city.

  • Great Vid.

Didn't know that Cathay flew out of there.
