Just out of curiosity, how many Phantoms past and present have you seen/heard? I have nothing against RK but vocalwise (at least) I think he's just one of the least memorable Phantoms ever.

@howling2nite10 Ever heard Gerard Butler sing live? I certainly can't fnd a copy because quite frankly he can't sing to the standard required for theatre. Emmy Rossum isn't as good as any of the Christine's from the past few years either. Listen to Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo. It annoys me how people say 2 actors are the best Erik's and Christine's respetively based on 1 movie that was slated by critics and a studio recording that would have been edited and enhanced 100 times over.

@howling2nite10 You should be sorry. Even studio edited to high heck as I'm sure it was for the film, Gerard Butler's voice has nothing on the best phantom players. After seeing this on broadway it was actually hard for me to listen to the entire movie version (i was curious) of this song without stopping it in the middle. I suppose you're entitled to your opinion though, even if that opinion is terribly wrong =)

Just wait for the new LesMis movie musical to come out and then you'll hear the same crowd claiming that Russell Crowe is WAAAYYYY much better than Philip Quast LOL.

@KateBushDepot I know, they never seem to get the voices for these movies. At least Hugh Jackman is a very talented vocalist. Gerard Butler couldn't carry a tune in a wheelbarrow. Watching that movie was torture.

I've seen probably 25 different actresses play Christine live through the years and Lisa Vroman still stands out as the best!! Love her and Hugh together!
