I first saw this film as a child but missed the ending because I was told to go to bed. I remember thinking that it was the best film I had ever seen but never knew the ending. I was so sure that there was no way the 2 main characters could ever get out of all that chaos alive. Since then Ive seen it a few times & still love the movie. Love the characters both good guys & bad guys. The action scenes are fantastic especially the cable car scene. There was also an element of intrigue. 10 out of 10

yeah but helicopters were very rare in 1944. I would have rather seen a messerschmitt in that role, landing at the airfield.
