Hi Andrew, good job on the videos! They are very helpful. Just a little note though ... during 1:14 of the video, you gave an example of the A note of 440 Hz, and then talked about another A that would be half of its frecuency (220 Hz), but there is another A in between the two you talked about on a Bass Cleft line, so that should be the A of 220 Hz.
please write a script... i had to start over 7 times because of the off topic dialogue. it feels like it takes to long to get to the points of the subject. remember you are talking to people who have sit through this. overall though you are doing good.
Don't get me wrong. I think it is awesome what this guy is doing. The fact that someone would take their free time to provide a service like this and ask nothing in return is great. However, this has got to be one of the hardest things I've ever forced myself to sit through.
aww at school i learn these things too just not as good as here, so i thought: ill just do this for myself cuz i like music and all...but where i live, the B is an H...WTF europe is duumb
If the notes are just going up in alphabetic order ( repeating at G) what's the point of learning them separately in lines and spaces? I know the alphabet
@RemorfChuket You want to be able to look at a note and know exactly what pitch it is immediately from it's location on the staff. You would never be able to sight-read music (play from sheet music in-time without prior knowledge of the piece) if you had to re-derive the pitches associated with each line and space every time you looked at a new piece of music.
@rustybojanglez First off, That's not one word. If you used nerd or freak(either or) then that'd be one word. Secondly 'nerd and freak, too nice for ladies liking' is 8 words and is more of a thought, not a word that comes to mind. Thirdly, he's posting videos music theory, not picking up drunk fat chicks, which i doubt you have even mastered that drunken art. Finally, you're probably pulling less chicks playing skyrim than this guy is teaching music theory. So shut it.
I live in an area where the schools don't have very good music programs, so while I was growing up, going through high school and college I got very little musical education, but guitar is always something I've loved "playing." i guess the best gift i may offer you in the future is to send you a Video of me playing some good music though it's not going to be in 1 or 2 years :p
@aqwwow, I just learned it too but what I understand is that its called ledger line, and there is one center line which is C, the space above is D and the space below is B
I have a problem! there is a part I did not understand,in the middle place where there is a leisure line, there are three letters, are those 3letters all for the same leisure line? or there are 3leisure lines in the middle? please reply quickly!
I played violin for about six years before i had to stop about two years ago. I've never taken a theory class and really want to get back into orchestra for University.
