@struckworld you know ones who actually lived through hard times and leave home to find complete strangers to be there family. That movies actually has morles to it and it opens your eyes about how punk is not a fashion statment but a life style

I just turned 30 and got a good job and things are goin ok but this movie relates so much to the alcohol and drug feuled confused piece of crap I used to be and u know what.......I miss that guy and in alotta ways I still am that loser hangin out in a dark parking lot or in front of a store even if I'm not there, I see kids do it these days and I relate....awsome movie

OMG!! i go to the local nonblockbuster video for this, and they give the the fucking L.A. punk movie, the guy even asked me if i want that or the linklater one and i said linklater. Worst day ever. I need this movie, sonic youths my alltime favorite band and i cant find torrents or anything for it.

Nicky Katt cracks me up in this movie. He was such a great character actor in the 90's but then he got that TV show, "Boston Public" and I haven't really seen him since. I know he's been in stuff but the roles he's been getting aren't as big or something.

Evertime I try and look up this movie, I can only find the 193 movie by the same title...arrrggggg. I'll find the good trailer though eventually so I can make a high quality version with stereo sound for youtube (yes there are wonderful tricks to bypass the youtube destruction process so your videos are CD sound quality!)

one of my favorite movies. have to whip out the ghetto vcr just to watch it, buts its worth it.

still dont know why its not out on dvd yet. maybe because the government doesnt want us to THINK like some of the characters in this movie.

I lived not to far from where the original suburbia was filmed. The state bought out bought out alot of homes to build the 610 freeway. Those houses were abandoned for years. Love that film.

I bought the movie on VHS from Amazon, couse there isent on a DVD jet!!! talked to female employe whos a manager of richard linklaters movie and she said its soon out on DVD, But said to her Ah Na, we want it on HD DVD now isteed!!!

holy Crap what a jip. This movie sucks. Rent the REAL Suburbia if you want a f*cking great movie. Roger Corman - 1984 version. The soundtrack & movie will blow you away. Flea is in it.

Mate, this is not another version of that Suburbia, they just have the same name.

This one is much better, it's based on a play which is based on real life. Most of us can relate to the story and the characters in this film/play. Plus it's hilarious at times.

In regards to YOUR suburbia - Who the hell can relate to a bunch of kids in a squat surrounded by wild dogs?! haha Not the best storyline i must say.

Actually.. the original is recognized as a masterpiece, and it probably played a role in inspiring this, they are similar really.. if you get beyond the more outlandish premise of the older one, and look at the core message they both send.
