When we didnt had internet we shared self made tracks on floppy.. Good old times:) Trying to beat each other time records on the most insane tracks. I belive this game ran perfecktly on a 12 mhz computer Amazing eh
That's the sound of legacy gaming, when dreams were born, where barriers were broken, where revelations in gaming were taking place. where a new of era of gaming was being born ....
Make no mistake, this game was interminably captivating. Everything about it was amazing. There was something mystical about it, seriously, I can't explain it, but it was, is, and will always be absolutely class
Absolutely wonderful game and very satisfying to play. I think most of you will agree with me that the 1980's actually didn't end on December 31, 1989. The 80's carried over somewhat until about 1992, maybe even the beginning of 1993. I remember being a child around that time and things still had this 80's feel to them, I can't explain it... Anyways, this game definitely has an 80's feel to it, utilizing the latest technology that was available at the time.
my favorite racing game of all fuxxxing time! i remember building tracks for my best friend with a lot of ways to decide. most of them ended in either endless side-tracks or brutal traps :D only one way from start to finish was the right one... precious memories..
I used to trade tracks with people on discs at school. I really loved this game. I used to think I could do a jump over the fence if I tried hard enough, not realizing it was just a flat wall ahaha. Remember that first track where the barrier would get you every time unless you turned before the hill?
@pisswizard of course i remember, you could either turn left and or go straight. and what about that "queen" circuit, damn it, the most difficult one.
@mat5813 Oh yea. Some of them were killers. You couldnt even do a lot of them with the slow cars...that 4wd was totally useless. So many times you would fly off a ramp only to see the face of the next ramp as you smashed into it. Anybody ever put a ramp at the crest of a hill to make a jump twice as high?
@pisswizard nice idea, but it used to put the ramp as near as possible to the top to jump away from the circuit (of course it was impossible to do) xD
i liked that lancia delta a lot, even if it wasnt fast and that porche
I had this on my 286. Had to turn the graphics down to the lowest settings to make it playable. I had EGA 16 color 320x200 (if I remember right) graphics and PC speaker sound. Oh I loved this game.
@karebeari Yes I played that game on my Tulip/pentium 284. I had black/white monitor and pc speaker only. Spend like few years at this game making custom maps and playing with friends:P
Man I remember playing this back in 1990/1991 this came out of nowhere, for a pc game at the time this was amazing. i don't know why they don't make games like this anymore ... or even better they should bring this back on gog.com or online for the modern consoles (PS3,XBOX 360) now that be awesome!!
I have the button problem. I can not find any pieces that it would open a security system or putting a seat belt attached. What shall I do? please help me find the damn button!
Remember the loop de loops on the track editor? Those were so tricky to get just right!
This game blew up my monitor too. It was so much fun and some of the first 3D graphics I had seen along with LHX Attack Chopper. I built tracks for hours on end...until Mom came in the room and insisted I spend my time doing something more productive. I was like 5 years old.
@hydroplanerdude The music really does bring back memories, I used to play this as a kid but I was so young back then I don't remember much of it anymore, but I'll never forget 1:22-1:30, it's so fucking epic it got stuck in my head forever.
Hi! I am searching for audio files of the soundtrack in this game. Does anybody know a place where I can find it? I've recorded wave files when running the game in DOSbox but the quality becomes rather crappy. Thanks in advance!
Cause I used to love this game and spend hours and hours of the day making tracks. I was just 6 and I remember I used to play it in a monochrome monitor until it exploded.
Hell yeah! Trackmania is great stuff. Even more potential for making horribly broken tracks than Stunts had. Plus the ones that come with it are great too.
we organized a stunts tournament couple of years ago. just picked some quality track, decided which car must be used and then everyone had one week to make a good time and send a replay.
What I love is to create a track that deliberately sets the car up to go nuts and do things that break all the laws of physics and then play the replays.
I had one crash where the car manages to go sky high faster than a fighter jet, then come crashing down, doing corkscrews after hitting a bridge, building, or other obstacles.
Before 4D Sports Driving i recall that, all i used to play were Accolade's Grand Prix Circuit and Test Drive 1 ... and and this was a game i never forgot, the more volumetric sensation of it was asnotishing back in the old days, and it was so fun fun! I remember creating weird tracks and getting stressed up cuz i wanted to try em out ASAP!!
You know, this plays well with Dosbox. I have Dosbox for my original Xbox. I don't use it much because I would have to map keys to the xbox controller. Strangely enough I've beaten King's Quest 6 with the xbox controller. The talkie one too, ahh.
I guess I never thought about it though, Stunts really can be controlled with just a few keys. I'm going to get it up and running on the xbox.
You need to play this game. You are probably thinking Virtua Racing, which honestly, at first glance looks like it would be a better and more complex game. Virtua Racing is much better graphically (although similar). The thing that makes Stunts so great is the fact that you can make your own tracks, which have a seemingly endless amount of pieces and combinations. Loops, corkscrews, jumps, jumps over buildings, etc.
I believe it's freeware these days. You can play it with dosbox.
when i try to play i select lets drive then it ask something from the manual i drive for 5 seconds and my window cracks and i cant drive help plz? how can i play
I have the original release of Stunts at home and yes, there is a game manual from which you had to type the correct words in order to get the game running. Find yourself a properly cracked version, and it sould work just fine.
GREAT game and better music, by the way. One of those very best titles I ever got a chance to see in my life. Thank you for all the nice memories, DSI and thank you, glauberlima - for letting the music play...
I spent so many hours building custom tracks and playing this game!!! There was a glitch where if you downshift gear right before a jump the car suddenly goes maximum speed =)
Oh this game is great played it when I was younger and it was still really popular in my late school years 1996-1999. We also ran Skate or Die! and Ski or Die!. Oh and Pinball Fantasies! We had lots of fun, but then again we were of the 80's generation.

Test Drive 3 would have looked something like this if Accolade didn't break their relationship with Distintive Software (now EA Canada).

Oh this game is great played it when I was younger and it was still really popular in my late school years 1996-1999. We also ran Skate or Die! and Ski or Die!. Oh and Pinball Fantasies! We had lots of fun, but then again we were of the 80's generation.
