While I do agree with the lack of the wall and decent fail safes on the attachment of the tractor to the sled, I would like to point out a kill switch on the motor would not stop the tires' inertia quick enough to prevent any major damage in this case.
@theunseen1 Bollocks, that engine was still running after it bounced back onto its wheels, I reckon it was the drivers foot slipping off the cluth pedal when it was over on its side and again once it was back on its wheels that caused it to bounce up and then wheelie.
Does anybody in europe know anything about safety? Why didnt the sled opperator shut him down?where was the concrete wall to keep him out of the crowd? Maybe they should use a chain thats strong enough to hold a tractor and not a dog lol. Your tractor pulling Assn needs to come to the United States and learn a few things about safety before somone realy gets hurt. Honestly Iv been around tractor pulls all my life and Iv never seen a tractor disconect from a sled or role over

Il motore ha fumato durante tutto lo svolgimento dell'incidente.....ma cosa credi sono nato in mezzo ai motori. Senza aria si blocca tutto in circa un secondo, sui quei mezzi l'inerzia è pressocchè zero.
Se si chiude la saracinesca davanti al turbo il motore muore subito. Sono del settore (conosco bene il tractor pulling sin dall'inizio) e ho visto la saracinesca chiudersi più di una volta! Non raccontarmi che le oche tettano.

comunque credo che la TPI abbia bisogno di aggiungere un buon paio di funi di emergenza che tengano i trattori ancorati alla slitta qualsiasi cosa accada, perchè Guido "Orgoglio Blu" Bertelli ci ha preso gusto nel saltare in quella maniera ormai.
Cmq io sono stato alla gara di Fiume Veneto e la slitta tedesca Red Shadow è riuscita a fermare un salto dello stesso trattore che poteva diventare simile a quello di Lonato, imparare dai tedeschi...
non so' chi tu sia borgheseit ,ma' penso che tu' debba andare piano a fare delle affermazioni del genere riguardo il cavo del killerswitch ,perche' che non lo faccia nessuno e' meglio che tu lo vada a dire da un'altra parte
Non si è rotta la catena ma solo sganciata dal tiro. Il killer switch era collegato e ha funzionato perfettamente solo che fermare un motore che gira a oltre 5000 rpm serve qualche secondo. Infatti il tutto si è consumato in 3-4 secondi! Le sicurezze ci sono e funzionano perfettamente.
Prima o poi qualcuno si ammazza. Devono rispettare le norme di sicurezza che si sono imposti. Questi mezzi hanno più di 1000 CV....speriamo sia servito di lezione agli organizzatori.
Si, è vero che è potente ma non aveva collegato il cavo che deve chiudere la saracinesca di fronte al turbo proprio in caso di cedimento della catena. Non lo fa nessuno in quanto a volte la saracinesca si chiude accidentalmente e si fotte il turbo facendoti perdere anche la gara. Vorrebbe squalificato dal campionato....ha rischiato non solo la sua pelle ma anche quella dei commissari.
Anche questo sport, seppur giovane è già uno schifo.
well it came unhooked and since they are brain dead in europe there is no safety chain or kill switch. after some more ppl get killed they might think about safety.
That should buff out with no problem.

They do have a safety chain killing the turbo. The issue is that they normally don't hook it!!

What did happen exactly? Did the chain on the sledge break?? Unhooked itself trough the rough ride?? Broke the tow bar on the tractor??
And what happend with the emergency stop? It seems like it doesn't work..
