  • I thought these here the ones made by Weta Workshop (people who made LOTR, effects for Narnia, etc/) and they had the same video on their websight?

  • @ig7157 This is one of the two videos that I made about our leg extensions before I was even hired by Weta Workshop. They did use this video to let people know the connection between the prior work and the work that was developed with them.

  • elites legs from halo?.....anyone....?

  • I really need to have a pair of these incorporated into my next suit. x3

  • Fake video - these are just the bottom part of the ED-209 Halloween Costume - for sale on eBay.

  • Nope, fraid not.

  • so... soon we will be like protoss in starcraft? cool

  • want

    so

    bad

  • @Toxicz12 Area 51 in the UK is selling a version. Check it out

  • Can i ask, is it easy to fall of that digileg? o.o

    Looks a little scary :3

  • @pinnewolf it is virtually impossible to fall in these. Honest!!

  • they look pretty sexy

  • those look cool. but what about powerisers/jumping stilts? Would those give more freedom of running?

  • @VikingAxStudios These can run but not as well as the powerisers.

  • Coming soon, Draenei race in real life...

  • and i bet these were expensive as hell

  • @cowdrawer About 800USD

  • Now make a power stilt version of Digitigrade stilts, and I will buy some! :D

  • shut up and take my money

  • now that's awesome

  • ahh thats how they make the manitors in narnia

  • I am afraid not. They used green screen for that film.

  • @inventorgal Green screens are only used for removing backgrounds.

  • @xenopeltismulticolor Naw, you can green screen anything including bits and pieces of actors. Think the parapaligic in Forest Gump

  • epic

  • @JacobArr28 Thats funny...

My first thought was paint them blue.

    /waggle

  • Can we THINK outside the box for a moment?! Ok...now I want to ask for an order of 25 pairs please! =D

  • If you are interested, please contact Area 51 directly. I think they would be thrilled. What do you need 25 pair for?

  • Regrettably my leg extensions are in stasis, but my co-inventors are going ahead with their own design. Their leg extensions are being made by a company called Area 51 in the UK. This company just put up a web page this week announcing their own version. It is good to see that they have overcome the enormous difficulties in bringing any such invention to the market. Bravo, my hats off to them!

  • I don't want them....... I FUCKING NEED THEM!!!! How awesome would it be to make a mechanical alien war suit out of those digilegs!!!!!!!!!!

  • my first thought, Tauren costume

  • throw some glitter on them and lady gaga would wear them

  • Amazing work!

  • Amazing work!

  • The "horsetail" hair style is really good too!!!

  • @fmtelles A very good interpretation of that style. But the hooves need to be a bit smaller and made of stronger material. The legs seem a little bit oversized to me.

  • You are completly correct. My co-inventors have solved this with their versions from Area 51 in the UK

  • EFFING AWESOME

  • i wants...

  • That's really creative! You did a great job!

  • @TwilightFire Thank you, it took 4 years to get them right. I am very pleased how they turned out.

  • @inventorgal: Do they increase running performance, at all? Or, do they have the potential to be made to do so, at all?

  • @mowgli2071 Nope, these weighed enough they slow you down a bit. I have never figured out how to make them increase perfomance and not sacrifice the handsome profile of an animals leg.

  • did you try to run? would they make you run faster or not?

  • no, they do not make you run any faster, they are somewhat heavy and will slow you down a bit.

  • I want them Oo. Awesome!

  • I am so going to get these one day.

  • wow =3 any ideas of covering those legs with fur/skin ? i mean full suit of some beast .

    strange it looks like a jolly-jumper ! :D

  • It's a human/Draenei hybrid? :P

  • Is it hard to walk in them?

  • It is really easy and comfortable to walk in them.

  • These are truely awesome. I wonder how much something like this would cost. I find the Area 51 site too messy to actually find them, and theres no pricing there at all.

    Cheers!

  • Area 51 has not publicly announced yet, and won't for a few more weeks. This is just a heads up to contact them beforehand. They will respond to a direct email.

  • When They Walk, It Sounds Like Hoof Clomping Instead Of The Stilts. Those Are Awesome! :3

  • They're the new high heels x)

  • I want to get this for my friend on her birthday! :3

  • Good news! My co-inventors have found a place that will manufacture the leg extensions. They are called Area 51 and are in the UK. If you are interested please contact them directly at legs@a51uk.com. They are trying for a February release date

  • Can you please give me an estimate in USD of how much a pair of these will be? Just an estimate so I can save up as I imagine they will be expensive. Also, will they be available with the fur leg coverings if you want to dress up as a Satyr? Thanks for answering! =)

  • they are very noisy :O no sneaking up on ppl wi them on

  • How easy is it to adapt these for a Halo 3 Elite costume?

  • I'm a Halo fan and if YOU'RE a Halo fan you know EXACTLY what I'm thinking. :3

  • Are they comfortable to the feet?

  • @TheOneTheyCallVi Yes, they are comfortable for the feet. We built them so that folks could walk easily in them for several hours

  • @inventorgal cool, thanks for the reply, will sub

  • Is it possible to jump in them?

  • It is possible to hop in them, jumping would require a lot of strength

  • That's so cool!

  • Hello! I was viewing the information on your site, and I was wondering if there was a weight limit to these shoes. Also, about how much are you selling them for?

Weta has for the time being canceled the production of the legs. My other co-inventors in the states are looking into producing their own version but theirs will not be ready for a few months. They are trying to have them out by late September. I have no idea what they are selling them for. If you would like more information, please contact them at reverselegs@gmail.com

  • @inventorgal Alright :) Thank you so much for your help!

  • Wow, that looks really good! How long can you approximately walk in those?

  • I have only walked in them about 6 hours, but longer is certainly possible. I just ran out of time.

  • is that comfortable

  • yes, very. :)

  • Good fast !!

  • Where can you get these?

  • if you write reverselegs@gmail.com, they will be able to get you in touch with the folks making them

  • These are amazing.. I would love to have a pair with some lupine paws. :D

  • it looks like walking with your tippy toes! ^.^

  • I like this particular design. It looks less stressful on the ankles. However i would like to know the weight & shifting capcities?

    Thanks.

  • They are very comfortable and extremely stable to walk in. The weight is held in the feet, just like in high heel shoes. If you go up hill, the weight shifts to the top of the thigh.

  • Shame to hear that Weta won't be producing these for you KIm. I hope that you won't give up on the project to make these available for the costume community.

  • I was one of the very few ppl who actually did order the stilts from Weta. :( Very, very sad that they pulled the plug on production. I'm more upset that they TOOK orders at all (pending refund). >:( But its not ur fault.

Is there any way, you will still be taking commissions for these? Or are you looking for a new company who WILL produce them perhaps?

(funny, I was going to use them for a Female Draenei costume too.) See my YouTube channel for images of Draenei if you're curious.

  • Genious!

  • Thats awsome. I was going to do somthing like that for my wolf suit.just shorter and moer refined to a wolf foot-paw.

  • OMG these would be perfect for a Female Draenei costume ....can you make the feet any smaller tho ..they seem huge....How much would a pair like these cost ..and would they be hard to make?? I like totally love them ^_^ <3

  • The hooves are not part of the leg extensions, they are part of the costume I left on to show how well they moved.

  • These are now sold from Weta Workshop in New Zealand, if you want to get some.

  • What a great Tauntaun outfit I could do with these...fake legs from the saddle...imagine..."hey...did a dude on a Tauntaun just go by...?"

  • With a pair of those and a big wide belt I could go out on Halloween as the FLOTUS!

  • these are sweet, if i ever get some i want them to have a metal shell and an antique-ish patina so they look like metal bionic leg extensions instead of animal legs.

  • How much faster can you run in those?

  • Dude that is badass..... i'll take 12!

  • There is nothing backward about the legs of a dog or horse. They have the same knees we do. What you think is a backward knee is really a normal ankle atop a very long foot.

  • @digitalArtform the thighs tend to be shorter too (proportionally)

  • I saw that and immediately thought of the AT-ST.

  • next you should make a horse with the legs of a human i reckon

  • OMG IRL DRAENEI WTF BBQ

  • Wow this is superb. Tauren!!!!

  • sexy half tauren chick.

  • @caioenzo totally agree, looked good even before the fur :)

  • Those are awesome. I want a pair. I will become ROBO-WHATELEY.

  • wow thats absolutely awsome! 8D

    amazing work! C:

  • These should have been used in Monty Python And The Holy Grail.

  • naaaah! i prefer coconuts!.........ni!

  • ah i want it :-DD

  • how much is a pair of these? I would be interested

  • @GingerAnne these are like $1000 (according to the website) with the hooves included. I could see myself spending my salary on a pair of these :D they're awesome!

  • @GingerAnne

Fantastic thing! I am performance, and this is realy cool!!!

    How much is this??

  • these things are ILL SAUCE. can you spring load them for pogo effect?

  • What is ILL Sause? I am afraid that we tried to get a spring loaded effect to make them bounce more, but could not get it to work. It added too much weight and made the sillouette too thick.

  • @inventorgal ILL SAUCE = Absolute awesomeness.

  • @inventorgal

Ill: slang for cool, awesome, etc.

    Illsauce=awesomesauce. :]

  • @inventorgal even with bicycle springs, or torsion springs (a metal )or perhaps composite) bar that bends, you know, kinda like in those racing prosthetics for athletes without feet, but probably unlike those, it would not be the main support structure), or even bungee cords and pollies(sp?) ?

  • Are there choices in feet? I see you have hooves on this one, but is it possible to make canine feet or bird feet and put them on instead when you build the leg?

  • Right now we will be offering just the steel and plastic "core" that costumes can be constructed on. As for additional animal feet, we would like to offer them, but we honestly do not know when that will be. We would like to offer a whole range, paws, claws, and hooves

  • Got a price range? I'm working on a female Tauren costume for next Halloween.

  • I am makeing a dragon man outfit and think these would do well with it. Is there anyway to put a dragon style foot insted of a hoof.

  • were these used on Distrirct 9? The movement reminds me so much of the aliens in that movie.

  • No, afraid not. These were made after the movie was filmed

  • I'd love one or two of these for some cosplays I'd like to make.

  • @HarlequinHail

  • Can one run in these? I only ask because I have interest in using them for a raptor costume.

  • It is possible to get up to a trot. We are developing a special running foot that would allow running and dancing, but that won't be out for a while.

  • wow, those are crazy!!! They look like they are easy too walk in!!Amazing!!

  • wow, it even sounds cool.

  • How goes it finding a production company in New Zealand? Any luck so far?

  • Have you experimented with an arm extension version of the legs? i.e. werewolf? Thank you and those are awesome.

  • Not yet, but it certainly something I want to explore. Once these are in production, yes, that is one of the next things to build.

  • Satyr!!!!

  • You should be really proud. That's awesome engineering.

  • how did you make the coverings for them??

  • Fur and velcro for fast and easy application. It takes a minute to get the leg extensions on and then another two minutes to apply the fur. Pretty easy

  • OMFG I WANT SOME!

I love the look of unguligrade stance!

  • @mistressartemis

  • HOLY SHIT DUDE!!!

where can i get a pare!?!?

  • We are still not in production yet with the leg extensions. In the past two months I was offered a job and have moved to New Zealand, so work on them has been slowed down. Presently, I am speaking with a fabrication studio here in Wellington about making the extensions. It is unlikely we can hit Halloween this year but we might make Christmas. If you like, I can email you immediately when there is more news on availability and price.

  • ^^;

nah it's ok...i want a pare, but i would be too scaired of falling to actually use them. XD

  • You would be surprised just how easy they are to walk in. A new friend just tried them on and was able to learn to walk in them in the time it takes to write this sentence. It surprised both of us, but it was also the newest design too. Unlike the traditional dry wall stilts, these give a person a chance to catch themselves the same way you do when you stumble with your own feet. Our goal is to make them as comfortable to wear as a pair of shoes. (albeit, very *tall* shoes)

  • Any ideas on price range? Or you have no idea yet? Potential buyer right here, when/if these become available. They look great. If you covered them In steel plated armor, And painted them blue, You'd have yourself a pretty sick pair of Elite legs. Also they look pretty stable. Walking looks easy as well.

  • great for walking in the snow ? if balance is good and not slippery ?

  • I have not done snow yet, but I would not walk in *any* stilts on a slippery surface

  • wow... that is so cool. they would be so awesome at a halloween party lol

  • that looks neat, i want some :D

  • i can see a very cool looking power armor being incorporated with these legs.

    ...Fallout 2....Nuff'said :)

  • WOW O.O

  • Is it wrong that I want to buy a pair of these and dress up at an ATST from Star Wars? XD

  • @Pillowchii No not at all. In fact... DO IT!

  • woah :))

  • AWESOME!!!

  • NARNIA!

  • Defffs! O:

  • awesome! O_O

  • sweet! O.O

  • These are pretty awsome!!!

  • Nice. Draenei costumes from WoW just got MORE interesting.

  • Prices??

  • How long did it take you to get the right length for the cables?

  • It took 15 tries to get the right length and adjusting mechanism.

  • It'd be great having those with paws at the base :3
