I just made this for dinner tonight. It was so easy and my family went crazy for it. Thank you so much for making everything so easy to follow . I'm so glad I found your channel, I'm hooked ! : - )
With the corn starch/flour, does the sauce remain liquid, or does it become gelatin after sitting and cooling? That's one issue I've had when I follow some recipes "to the letter", is that there's too much corn starch and it basically turns the sauce into "jello" after it's cooled... which is kinda gross.
i love this recipe!!!!!!! its so easyyyy and i have made it 4 times since i saw this vid lol.. never ordered it out before so ordered it to see how the chinese made it. both r good ...
Hi David, I tried this recipe today. It tasted really good. The only problem I had was the batter came off the chicken strips. Do you know why it does that? Could it because I put too much into my deep fryer at once? Thanks in advance.
@Chubeauty That's one possibility, as it's better to cook the strips in batches rather than all at once. Did you pat the chicken off with paper towel before dipping it in the batter? This can help the batter cling to the chicken ;)
@OnePotChefShow Next time I will try blotting the excess soy sauce out before dipping it into the batter. Also, my mother-in-law said to dip the chicken strips into the egg first and then roll the strips in the corn starch before deep frying. Do you think that makes a difference?
Its 09.23am in the uk and I could deffo eat that now lol yum yum. I will have to pop to the supermarket to buy the ingredience :) thanks for sharing x
@debngp If you visit my channel, there's a link for a measurement conversion chart which you can print out and keep in the kitchen. If you want a lighter version, omit the batter and grill the chicken instead ;)
@debngp Have you ever heard of Google? Go there and type "What is 30g in ounces?" and it will give you an answer. There's also plenty of converstion websites around with various calculators.
I swear every time I watch your videos I am a step closer to converting myself into a meat eater... I'm vegetarian by religion n choice n you make me wanna taste all that yummy, mouth watering, juicy, crispy, heavenly, delicious, lip-smacking, positively divine, dishes of yours... Thank You.....
theres has been NOT one recipe i have not cooked from your good teacher skills on cooking. i have cooked EVERY single one of your recipes and im only 15.belive it or not i thing you would do a better racheal ray.
@OnePotChefShow Thanks Chef! This recipe is already in my favorites. If i had known it was so easy to make i would have been doing this years ago. If you are ever in hawaii stop by any L&L drive inn, and see if their lemon chicken can stand up to your masterful creation. :)
@Burtholomew I forgot - this was one of the "make it in a hurry before I lose the light" videos. Now that I have my lighting rig, that shouldn't be an issue anymore ;)
Oh my, OPC what would I do without you! Thank you for another awesome recipe, I was gonna order chinese food for lunch now I can make em at home :D Love ya ;)
On Saturday yesterday, I was going to get a honey stick/log but then when I tasted the cream I threw up over the counter. And the asians well still trying to sell it to me ):
@i1l2f3h4v5d6 I find corn flour mixes better into the sauce, and makes a nicer, crispier batter. You can use regular flour, but I recommend using corn flour ;)
I'm not able to eat soy sauce, so I was wondering if I can use something else or omit it?

@32000voisine Castor sugar (superfine) is similar to our American sugar you buy in 5 lb bags.

@lupine73 The sauce will thicken as it cools, but simply stir it and then reheat it in the microwave and it will re-liquify ;)
