He played this in Toronto in 1974 while on tour with Crosby Stills and Nash. The ironic thing was that the transit system was on strike, and the subways where empty. I'll never forget the magic of that moment.
The great thing about this particular performances are all the little Toronto references in this song, as it's being played in Toronto. eg. Hotel Isabella, Riverboat, the St Lawrence Market.
I adore this song..."and there ain't nothin' like a friend who can tell you you're just pissin' in the wind"...the album "On the beach" is a gem...he's the greatest man of my life...and just the thought of going to a Neil's live concert makes me crazy!!!
no one can 'cover' neil young.

Your all just pissing in the wind...you don't know it but you are...
And there is nothing like a friend who can tell you, your just pissing in the wind...
Well, America...were all just pissing in the wind.

he nodded and murmured, and then, although he was awake and eating his lunch, Edward dreamed.

For the record gildenstorf:
He's not talking about the Hotel Isabella.
He's talking about 88 Isabella which was a boarding house. There's an apartment building there now.
