Ok, I listened to the original song and I realized somthing. You are singing the lower harmony of the song- and thats why I thought it was fine.... The notes your were singing were in the chord, so it doesn't sound wrong until you get to the verses. So, you weren't flat, you were just singing the wrong part. (hard to explain, but do you get it?)

Yeah.... It didn't sound wrong because the not you were singing is in the chord of the same chord as the note you were suppost to sing, but you couldn't tell...

Me? Perfect pitch? hah! no. I just know how to hear the pitch is all. No one really has perfect pitch... Try this: if you have a piano or key board.... Hit a note and match your voice to the note. Then try hitting a different note and match it. Then try going back and forth between them and add more and more notes. Its a good prectice.
