Was slightly dissapointed that Stephen didn't correct Sean's error when he proclaimed that snakes have no legs..
The Boa Constrictor for example, has some claw-like remnants of what was once hindlegs. They're unusable, and little more then a couple tufts sticking out, but considering this is QI then yes, snakes most definitely can have legs! :)
@ellbennet I'm Swedish too but I really want to try it. The smell doesn't seem to affect me as I found out when I was attending a "nollning" at high school
A couple of weeks ago I had a dream that I was trying to seduce George Clooney, but he wasn't buying any of it. It's probably because I don't find him attractive at all....that is probably my most confusing dream I've ever had.
there's something similar to surströmming in norway called rakfisk which smells like death, apparently. the police was called to a house because somebody thought they smelled a body going bad and it was just somebody cooking xD
I live in Finland. There is an urban legend (perhaps factual) that some highschool prankster put an open tin of surströmming in the school ventilation duct. The school had to be evacuated and the smell lingered for a year.
I'm english living in Sweden (the north of) and we eat surströmming quite offten, wouldn't say the taste is to die for, although the smell is though. last time round we opend up the can in the forest near the house (much to the delite of the local fly population), some friends of ourse, three rows of houses away from us, rung up to see if we had surströmming. Naughty kids fill up water pistols
surströmming is mostly eaten in the north of sweden, My mother did the mistake of opening a can inside the house it took days to get rid of the smell.
I first heard about Surströmming on a Japanese chat show, of all places... they had to open it in a special cubicle, but they did say it tasted good. So I wouldn't rule out eating it once.
I had a great dream that a centipede bit me (for some odd reason), and, no lies, Mr. Fry came and saved me from the nasty bugger and then gave me a bear hug. One of my best dreams ever.
it is opened under water mainly for the reason that it explodes due to all the pressure from the gases. I tried to open one as a kid, not really knowing what it was. I thought it was the same as norwegian "sursild", or cured spicy herring which we eat all the time. My dad had been across the border in sweden and he bought a can (god knows why). When I applied the can opener, It shoot a jet of nastiness out of the hole. So i put it in the fridge, and it spoiled all the food in there.
@rnstearns This is a good point. Pigs also eat insects too, and are on most pizzas. I'm sure there's even more. But i don't want to go and wiki every topping I can think of.
Thanks so much @waynesayonara for putting this up, I don't know how I would manage with out my weekly dose of fun and facts! I can't watch it on tv because of work and because I'm not in Britain I can't watch it on BBC player! So thanks for QI!!

Yes, they're almost gone, no they can't be used for anything, but considering the nature of this show then I can safely say that snakes have legs!
