The Union Aerospace Corporation is the largest corporate entity in existence. Originally focused on weapon and defense contracts, new ventures have expanded into biological research, space exploration, and other scientific endeavors. With unlimited funds, and the ability to engage in research outside of moral and legal obligations, the UAC controls the most advanced technology ever conceived.
We do thats not because we are forced to but because we love to and know for each individual person that each of us will gain the benefit of bettering our lives as well as everyone elses and also in the process, advancing our society and potential to its greatest.
after all, We have the start of a new society which could learn from earths mistakes and taught to to try to do things to better and advance themselves as well as those around them.though this and the use of technology we have now and will have then, a government in a new planet society would not be needed.
A world were money, power and corruption could never hope to arise and flourish!
I mean, we Americans broke off from britain because we were over an ocean and felt like we wernt apart of them anymore.
Would it not be to radical to say that earth colonists would break off from earth, feel like they were no long apart of earth after having settled on it for a while and started there own society free of any earth government or personally, the best of all things, no government at all.
I don't think any country on earth could ever make claim of another moon, planet star or any other object that is not man made beyond earth at this point or at any point in the future
I wonder if like colonists breaking off from Britain and later forming America, the future colonists of Earth will too create its own independent free society free of all of earths problems
no government,no currency, everyone doing things for bettering the lives of themselves and the people around them
NASA relying on the private sector more is a good thing, competition drives down prices and encourages development of new technologies to reduce cost and increase efficiency/performance.
SpaceX has already reduced the cost of rockets drastically, their next task is to make them reusable, which will reduce the cost to a fraction of what it is now.
SpaceX employs alot of the best engineers, its like the facebook of aerospace companies.
1) They destroyed MIR years ago, I think you mean the International Space Station.
2) Elon Musk is rich but hes not quite a billionaire though, he was a founder of PayPal and sold it to eBay for 1 billion but he didn't own the whole company so he didn't get it all.
3) Spacex isn't sending up astronauts yet, the Russians are in the Soyuz.
The rest is right for the most part except the space program not existing, think your corrected yourself though.
How long will it take to get there? ... But regardless, I would go if I could sleep ( like in a pod thing / you know, like in the first Alien movie ) like after just taking off and landing, ... no prob.
Oh, and as long as I get a pulse gun with the flame thrower and grenade launcher attachment.
With Dr.Robert Zubrin plan and the cost cut tec at spaceX we could do this with about 10 billion where as NASA was wanting 450 billion to do the same thing. That is why I like spaceX we can do this and we need to before the UN gets us trapped here with their moon treaty or outer space treaty that makes space like Antartica witch means no colonies :(
It is pretty scary if you were an astronaut and tried to go to Mars...one little misjudgement and they fly through space forever....that's friggin scary
I'd take the risk and go to Mars, just think about how awesome that would be to be on a planet that people have only dreamed about being on since it was discovered. Going into orbit would still be bitchin but going to Mars just completely blows that away.
if i was given the opportunity to go to mars i would defiantly take it, i mean yes it could very well blow up or have a malfunction but just think...what if it doesn't? then you going to be very popular the next 80 years lol to be the first man on mars would be very cool
Uh..... hold on a second..... does this guy not know MIR space station doesn't exist anymore? And how is it that there aren't a million space fans calling him out on this?
This guy seems cool be he has no idea what he's talking about. No, the Falcon Heavy is NOT the rocket that will be used for going to Mars and its NOT ready yet.
Also calling this the end of NASA space program is such a horrible description of what we're doing.....
@evinado1 Yes, he said "The US space program is winding down. It will not exist any longer." which of course is COMPLETELY WRONG!!!
I've heard so many people (on the news and radio no less) say the same thing.
NASA isn't going anywhere. NASA's manned space program isn't going anywhere. The ONLY difference is the end of the Shuttle, and frankly it's about time. That thing was too expensive and too dangerous.
And the challenges of a Mars mission are more nuanced than he seems to understand.
I would defo go ANYWHERE in the solar system as far as I got enough supplies with me. Should anything go wrong I would still be proud of my great adventure. Would you rather live 1 day as a lion of 100 as a sheep?
@tziuriky I'd rather live one day as a lion. We take risks to improve ourselves, and yes sometimes not every can make it.
The way I see it, there is no failure--just lessons learned. For many years I felt sorry for myself because I did not own my own home, but one day I woke up and said I'm going to do it.
I gave myself 6 months to accomplish my goal. I focused on becoming a homeowner. I had to work many many hours, even two jobs, but in the end I acommplished my goal.
The MIR space station crashed to earth back in 2001, Columbia broke apart and burned up during re-entry, and Challenger blew up during launch. Am i wrong for expecting laymen to at least know those facts about space exploration.
Wait! I am a dick. At least he is excited about it. not too many joe shmos care much about the future of mankind.
@Igotnogod MIR space station was retired, and was actually expected to "return" to earth and burn during atmosphere entry some time before that actually happened. ESA and russia are gonna join up and get a man to mars way before the us and china. russia is the worlds best space nation right now and ESA is the most rapidly advancing with massive increases in funds and a new astronaut corp- including a brit ;) be nice to see a brit in space with his own flag on his arm. the ones so far have been forced to wear the US flag
@elmateeeo If the US would stop putting their ass in the rest of the worlds problems and put all the money they WASTED in iraq then the US would have a man on mars decades before anyone else.
@FcdFAN13 We spent about the same in Iraq over 8 years + Afghanistan over 10 years than we wasted on bailing out the unions last year. Perhaps if the US government would stop putting it's nose into every aspect of the citizens' lives, and wasting our money doing it, we could afford to explore Mars in the next couple of decades.
Falcon Heavy from SpaceX can transport cargo at a record low $1000 per kg, usually a space shuttle takes $10,000 to $20,000 per kg depending on what they bring.
Don't get me wrong, the shuttles are an advanced piece of technology but they got too expensive to use- we need to go back to the basics and be more efficient about it.
Actually, NASA isn't winding down. It's leaving earth to orbit flights to private contractors and the Russians. NASA has been directed to concentrate on interplanetary travel.
SpaceX isn't even where the Mercury capsules were in the 1960's. SpaceX and other contractors like Virgin Galactic may ferry astronauts to a space station and from there they will board a NASA spacecraft bound first, to an asteroid, and on a later flight, to Mars.
Cmon!! It'll be epic... EPIC BEARD and EPIC GUNNSHOPP at mars! Uffff that'll get u a LOT!!!! specially with the rocket science of the firecracker and the tin can!
Why not? Falcon 9 has flown, the Dragon capsule has flown, and Falcon 9 Heavy is in an advanced stage of development. Next month SpaceX will aim to fly to the ISS and dock Dragon. As far as I can tell, Elon Musk is on track. And regarding the cost: even if he increases by 20% he will still be half as expensive as the govt. contractors. Go SpaceX!
The problem with commercial space flight and exploration is the weight of the vehicle and cargo//people. I agree that with current technology computer failures are fairly common and disastrous when in flight! This is the reason for double and triple redundant backup systems. But I do not believe that Spacex or any commercial space program can afford that much extra weight and maintain the low price to weight ratio! if they can make the system as simple as possible, there is less to break!
Dr.Robert Zubrin has said that with current tech. We could do it by 2021 !! Read the "Case for Mars" I'm not a big fan of the private sector..BUT in this case of space travel I'm 1000% for private sector companies ! Why? Because unlike "oldman" NASA..SpaceX and the rest actually want to get things done !!!!! Back to the Moon and on the Mars ASAP !!
lol lets see spend millions of dollars on a space ship going to mars and having a chance of the thing losing contact or crashing and losing all that money
What most scientists are trying to figure out is how to get out of the atmosphere w/out fuel because it's believed that the most fuel is used getting out of the atmosphere. Otherwise, I'd be happy trying to get a man on Mars
haha, I'd only do either of those things if lots of people had already done it ahead of me :)
but seriously, what you said about SpaceX is totally right on - they're sticking their necks out to make a better future for all of us.
hopefully, the more spaceflights that happen, the more the cost comes down - so one day we won't just be dreaming about "if", and we'll actually be able to try out these things
Virgin have made a plane where it is able to leave the earths atmosphere for 5-10minutes. where you are weightless and able to look down at the world. but only if you have a spare £200,000 (i think £ or $) i would, just so i could say ive been into space. and just the experience of looking down at 6.4 billion people. i would also go to mars, even if i knew it was a one way ticket. just the thought of soring through space and landing on another planet, i could die happy :)
Im still a skeptical when regarding putting ME on mars, but I guess its like 50/50.and would friggin love to orbit and beeing sendt to outer space,to experiance the 0 gravity and seeing the blackness with stars and planets and our own world from a different perspective other then just seeing it on TV or by fly:p.
If I wanted to die a specific way I deff would have done it by leaping outside spaceship or going to another planet in the name of the mankind.
Wait a minute....NASA's space shuttle program employs 40,000 people? This has to be wrong :/ Maybe thats for the entire NASA. If so theyre not getting rid of NASA as a whole, I think theyre only getting rid of the space shuttles. NASA still gonna be doing their telescope and reasearch and all of that stuff.
loool Imagine (solo mission... having a Windows ERROR msg on route to Mars..."ow shit....gotta fix this...where's all this friggin porn coming from, OW GOD!!!"
it is a lot better that its going to the private sector because america has a serious cashflow problem and eventually it would get to the point where we couldn't afford programs like nasa if we stay in the direction we're going
In the same way you are saying it Gunns I would not want to see a dead astronaut regardless of how they got up there. I know it takes real life tests but until they have a reliable ship, no space travel for me!
id go to mars, as long as i had internet lol boring as hell of a trip if not. and a crapload of movies and tv shows.... im talking like 20 TB worth of that and video games.
i personally(don't troll on me and hate it's a opinion)dont think they even made it to the moon.and why do they care about space and everything else?i was watching a show("95 moons and counting")and the way the described those places was pure hell.just like how the bible does.lake of fire?god put us on earth not mars not mercury, earth!earth is perfect for us humans.god wouldnt harm us.opinion guys dont hate
@antoni583 did we just appear magically on earth and was everything just put on earth or in space randomly?i want to hear your opinion on how things formed and how humans were made.dont say from primates or single celled qogaisms beacause how weould those be made?by god right.tell me your religeon and your reasoning about this.im not gonna judge you cuz im not saying my religeon is perfect(catholic) so please be frendly.i want to hear other POV's.
What'd they say, 500 days to GET there? Then being there, then coming back. I'd shit my suit :P Then throw a fit because I don't want to leave this world............ yet.
i think thats great, puttin it in the private sector will send those used taxes for better things hopefully healthcare or education and not war but either way were not spendin money we dont have on makin things to go places were thinking about goin to. i would never get near a spaceship so no mars no moon no orbits, ill maybe do that plane that does the zero gravity thing.
we have been to mars already, they have cover ups, infact them lights that people think are ufo's are human made ship with invisibility technology. USA wants to cover it up as ufo, if everyone knew the world would go crazy for the invis..tech, every country would want it and start a war...until the truth comes out
@iYoNewts dude that is the dumbest thing ive ever heard. 1, the american government would more likely gloat about makin it to mars before russia so your wrong there, 2 the shit about invisbility tech, world war 3 is not gonna start because someone is jealous that we have a new gadget dumbass.
yo send my cock in space. Never mind it's so big it does it's own orbit right here
nah man jk I would love to go into space. I think it would be an eye opening experience. I would prob want my brother to get lost in space though hahahah
fuck yeah one of the first people on mars i mean you´d be a hero look at me im the fucking president (when and if you get back) so i say im going to mars
Its because we need more Kobe Bryants than Albert Einsteins in the world ,sad but true LOL.And the only thing thats advances every year in the world is video game technology and LEGOs.
I would go to orbit after its been done a thousand times, no mars is not for me, and the private sector sounds like a bad idea to me bc thats when things tend to go wrong in sci fi movies, like when weapons and tech is created without gov knowledge or concent.

Wait a minute....NASA's space shuttle program employs 40,000 people? This has to be wrong :/ Maybe thats for the entire NASA. If so theyre not getting rid of NASA as a whole, I think theyre only getting rid of the space shuttles. NASA still gonna be doing their telescope and reasearch and all of that stuff.
iWearGlassesLOL 10 months ago
Maybe they should focus on getting to the moon first? For real this time?

send someone that is on death row to mars,if they die...well....they WERE on death row before so......
TheFall3n360 10 months ago
it is a lot better that its going to the private sector because america has a serious cashflow problem and eventually it would get to the point where we couldn't afford programs like nasa if we stay in the direction we're going
yanichyck23 10 months ago
@yanichyck23 ...lol, private sector huh!....more like a billionaire on a quest to build a death ray

@YXAznXY yeah, im sure all those workers wanted to give up their jobs for no reason...
MrNollat 10 months ago
@MrNollat i don't think the workers have anything to say about it, it's the board that make all of the decisions.
YXAznXY 10 months ago
@YXAznXY and you don't think the government has ANYTHING to do with that? I mean c'mon..
MrNollat 10 months ago
@MrNollat but it's the board that made the decision, not the government

Space travel? Private? No thank you!
In the same way you are saying it Gunns I would not want to see a dead astronaut regardless of how they got up there. I know it takes real life tests but until they have a reliable ship, no space travel for me!

i think thats great, puttin it in the private sector will send those used taxes for better things hopefully healthcare or education and not war but either way were not spendin money we dont have on makin things to go places were thinking about goin to. i would never get near a spaceship so no mars no moon no orbits, ill maybe do that plane that does the zero gravity thing.
xdownintheundertowx 10 months ago
Chances are any trip to Mars is a 1 way trip.
strongarm852 10 months ago
we have been to mars already, they have cover ups, infact them lights that people think are ufo's are human made ship with invisibility technology. USA wants to cover it up as ufo, if everyone knew the world would go crazy for the invis..tech, every country would want it and start a war...until the truth comes out
iYoNewts 10 months ago
@iYoNewts dude that is the dumbest thing ive ever heard. 1, the american government would more likely gloat about makin it to mars before russia so your wrong there, 2 the shit about invisbility tech, world war 3 is not gonna start because someone is jealous that we have a new gadget dumbass.

Karthig1987 10 months ago
I would go to orbit after its been done a thousand times, no mars is not for me, and the private sector sounds like a bad idea to me bc thats when things tend to go wrong in sci fi movies, like when weapons and tech is created without gov knowledge or concent.
