Great playing and very nice sound; however, I would like to know did you do any modifications to the bass when you were playing this paricular song, or is it all stock? I ask because I really would like to get one, and if it sounds like this, then it's definalely coming home with me.
@sexynojutsu123 dude i play in a metal band and its what i use...works great truth be told...the sound u get out of it is greatly dictated off of what you're playing out of...like i've played through an eden 210 with the 15 on bottom through a hartke head, and i got like the sickest clearest tone out of it....i played it through a peavey tnt 160 and it thundered man...no matter what for the price its one of the best basses u can buy
Thanks for subscribing! I'm honoured - Funny, i've been thinking of buying one of these longtime but got a rosewood fingerboard Squire JazzV. But I find these things actually sound better except for the sunburst models. A little neck heavy too. I would get one & upgrade the PU & bridge
i'm honored too, you play beautifully on your videos...i also have a fretlessSquier jazz bass like yours...although I kind of like the original bridge pick up a lot...i've just upgraded the bridge with an hipshot vintage one ,and changed the tone capacitor with a orange drop 47...now sounds really groovy, amazing how such a cheap bass can sound really like a 60'svintage jazz bass...
Great minds play alike basses! I still have to change the cap & tone pot because of the active PU. I like the original Duncan-designed too but the active gives that fat boost like an active EQ
I thought if i got the Deluxe5 the two ebonol basses would look too "cute" - can't have that!
chadmcG - It's not supposed to make a difference but guitar companies often paint over the "not-as-cosmetically-pleasing/ 'ugly' wood" It's just SEEMS to some of us that with this Squire model, the black body basses sound better than the sunburst where we can see the wood - so MAYBE they use different wood or a different quality/density of wood. I've noticed it a few times & that's what is in question.
some serious skills up here. i commend your improvisation abilities. besides, my deluxe jazz V is due to arrive tomorrow morning: but it's gonna be in plain olympic white!
...mmmh...with stock pickups, you could play hard rock or metal (depends off course also on the amp you are planning to use...you may need a big tube one anyways for this style!) - however in that case I would swap the pickups with a pair os seymour duncan quarter pound singles,to get a wild sound indeed...
it's freaking heavy - especially now that i have put 2 Norstrand big singles and a Nortstrand preamp on it - i am already thinking about removing the pre and go passive, the big singles sound great anyways...BTW is not my main bass,my belowed # 1 is a 70's fender jazz bass with a Sadowsky pre...the best bass ever!
Hi! Really nice!!! Rated ****[4star] ... I am planning to buy me a 5string bass, and this Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass V might be what I am looking for... thnx for the video, m8...!!! It helped.

This aint a good bass for metal/rock is it??
Coz they dont make 5 string p basses, what i need coz i love my friends 4 string pbass.
sexynojutsu123 2 years ago
Yeah it works good for rock. The amount of control you can have over the tone with this bass makes it great for any style of music.

@ilrustico13 se trata escuchar el bajo, no de criticar al bajista, pelmazo.

@ilrustico13 Me temo que te vas a tener que comprar tú un oído porque no hay una mala nota en ese solo.

Can you please explane your comment about the sound? Why does it make a difference weather it is sunburst or white or black?
