PEOPLE LISTEN UP. I STUMBLED ACROSS A SOLUTION TO THE NAT TYPE 3 PS3 ANDROID WIFI HOTSPOT PROBLEM WITHOUT ROOTING!!

you need to activate BOTH tethering-usb AND wifi hotspot at thesame time, so the icon appears as multiple thether and hotspot. after that connect WIRELESS on the ps3 automatic all stuff and it should switch from nat type 3 to 2!!! I stumbled on this by accident but it freakin works. thumbs up so ppl see!!!

Did all the steps up to where i "test connection" on the ps3 and it fails because it timed out retrieving the IP...my tether app is up to date and works, thats how im viewing this video and posting a comment '

is there any way u can start wifi from ur phone then connect that directly to the ps3 or the only way to do it is to connect it to ur laptop then connect that to the ps3.....

on UPnP I'm getting "Not Available" and I'm getting a NAT "Type 2" at the bottom of the internet connection settings test it says "the router in use may not support IP fragments, and the communication features of some games may be restricted. for details, contact the router manufacturer" wtf! please help!

I keep getting an error message when I go to sharing and click ok. "Internet Connection Sharing cannot be enabled. A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing.". What can I do to get around this? Help! Thanks!

ay bro help answer this question asap. i used the pda net app n it connects to my lap top at 1GB/s but when the ps3 is connected to the lap top, the ps3 is only getting speeds of 100MB/s max. is it because of my ethernet cable or what? n when i play online games it lags like a motha fudger. help plz

@iceyangstapimp You are using ethernet, not gigabit. ethernet = 100mb Gigagibt is 1000mb or 1Gb.

wireless tething are for root users. If you are not a root user you can also use PdaNet (download in android app store).

I don't really know what tether is, but what I see from it is that it's sending it's 3g out with a self hosted wifi of some sort.. is that correct? and if so, couldn't you just connect your ps3 to the phone's network?

@Infantjuju and room over 12 you will lag but a smove play, no video chat.

As for the Iphone I'm not on there suck network and didn't go pass emulators when I had my friends so wouldn't know exactly how it was being done for them but its sure explains why there network is crap other then the high amount of traffic due to the iphone.

Kudos! My concern is for all android user who like to tether but not abuse so much data which might cause a backlash later resulting in no one being able to tether or reducing it to a speed which will defeat the purpose.

P.S. if you like there have been cases of them reducing speeds so don't think because its cool now it will always be that way and if you would like some proof then just ask.

Ummm.... this isn't new but great job and some should take computer lessons. Your sharing your network connection and basically outputting it through a wired connection then just go through the settings on your PS3 and it should work.
