  • i have all respect you could give marcus but every player knows "you see wat you hit and you hit what you see" and he oviously just put his head down now

    comonman

  • they said he got hit. but look more like he hit the defender

  • it could happen to you.

  • no never made it meant he never made it as the star that he was supposed to b

  • so, these people who put Marcus on the field, ran him ragged, and saw that he was hurt decided to play him anyway, then just sent the guy home with a concussion??? what no medical attention??? people managing sports are really messed up.... use the kids up spit em out. oh well, i guess u got to feed the machine. : (

  • Great documentary. Watching his high school and college runs was amazing.

  • Im pretty sure it was documented that he was cut prior to the start of the regular season.. Am i wrong with this fact? Not rrying to argue for thw sake of arguement id just like to know the actual facts

  • @ballsaq He played a full season i believe and was cut before his 2nd seasson.

  • dupree still won the battle against peavy

  • @OUfootballAuthority Texas Owns OU.... Texas doesn't recruit they hand pick who they want.Texas has the money and a endless line of coaches that would give there left nut to coach there.Texas had one bad year out of 13-14 consecutive winning seasons.Texas is damn near always in BCS bowls and BTW they win them.OU as usual rides UT's coat tail....Keep runnin your dick sucker...At the end of the day Texas Owns OU.When OU holds the record vs Texas then someone might listen to you.OU sucks.. Hook em

  • It never ceases to amaze me how a video about Marcus Dupree the best and best that ever will be get's blown out of proportion and turns into a Texas/OU Frenzy of who is better than who.....

Reminds me of something I saw one time on a Bathroom stall. And I quote, " Here I sit Butt Checks a Flexin' I just shit another Texan".....

    BOOMER!

  • Don't bite the dick that feeds ya fuck boy!!!! Texas owns the big12 and BTW Texas owns OU....That's from the mind the body and the legacy of the "Longhorn mind" Ya bitch you..... Hook Em Horns MF

  • @bryant5266 Didn't Texas finish at the bottom of the Big 12 this last season? And last I checked facts, Texas has half the Big 12 titles that OU has. Not to mention Bob Stoops has won 7 of 11 agianst Mack Brown. So where in your right mind do you make a case that Texas is better than OU or owns the Big 12? Are you smoking crack? By the way, I can't wait to see how far down the shitter UT goes for 2011. BOOMER FREAKING SOONER ALL DAMN DAY!!!

  • He also tore his knee up in the USFL before he went to the Rams.

  • @cozyunplugged Well I guess ya got a point there. But then again It's gonna be sweet watching Uconn roll OU's ass up.Kinda like Boise St. and West Virginia did.OU is the laughing stock of Bowl Games.Texas owns that ass!!!! Always has and always will!!!! OU sucks dick..... Hook Em

  • @bryant5266 Except that, uh-oh, OU rolled up on UConn. So wrong, so often...it could only be from the mind of a Longhorn.

  • Hello, McFly? Dupree played a couple of seasons for the Los Angeles Rams, 1990 and 1991. That's in the NFL.

  • Marcus was signed by the New Orleans Breakers of the United States Football League in 1984. He gained 684 yards on 145 carries with 9 touchdowns for a 4.7 yards per carry average. He had two 100-yard rushing games. He was often injured and Buford Jordan was the starting tailback most of that season. and he was on the rams

  • Comment removed

  • actually, he played for the rams

  • his jheri curl was dope as fuck,,muthafuckas gotta bring that shit back

  • He did actually play in the nfl at the end of his documentary on espn he played for the rams but only for 1 or 2 seasons and not that much

  • WHAT A HIT! And he still held on the football

  • he did make it to the nfl

  • @NaifyNaif played 2 seasond with the rams

  • well shitt happens and just another team that screwed a great football player marcus was on my brother wall and my wall as greatest ou running back ever set record for fiesta bowl my granddad passed it to me and he had it since 1982 i got it in 2007 but u know what would the game be like if he would of made it i say he would of been like tony dorsett or earl campbell

  • Maybe if he would've stayed at UT he might have made something of him self.Fuck OU and fuck switzer....... That's what his ass get's for going to a fucked up ass "So Called Football Program" such as OU.You live and you learn now don't ya.... Hook Em

  • @bryant5266 Especially when you're sitting at home watching bowl games instead of going to them, right? I guess Marcus could ask the 2010 Longhorns.

  • The title of this vid says "Never Made it to the NFL," but he played with the L.A. Rams....Didn't ESPN bother to watch their own 30 for 30 episode?

  • @Kelm48103 i think they meant Never Made It In The NFL like wasnt as good as he could have been

  • @Kelm48103 no he was 230

  • @Kelm48103

He didn't REALLY, though. He never made it into the regular season.

  • @ballsaq He was with the Rams for 2 seasons....

  • @Kelm48103 I was going to say something similar, but it looks like you already did it. and you did it better than I would have probably.

  • @Kelm48103 its the best that never was, not never made it to the NFL meaning he never played as himself with his natural talent by the time he made the NFL he was not the same player as you never are with the knee injury which ended his career

  • @Miclou8998 ESPN changed the name of this clip. The title of this clip, not the 30 for 30 episode, originally stated he never made it to the NFL.

  • I just wanna say this is serious shit people. My hockey career is over with because I came back to early from a concussion

  • Greatest that never was. Sounds about right. He had the talent. It seems like he was lacking in other areas. Great player when he was healthy.

  • MANIMAL

  • Marcus Dupree was the greatest high school running back ever! He was 17, ran a 9.5 hundred at 6 feet 2, 220 pounds. He had a powerful, beautiful stride and it looked like he was running on top of a layer cake. Switzer should have cared more about Marcus as a young man and he could have done this with love. Instead Switzer treated Marcus as a "football soldier" and nothing more. As far as the reverend is concerned; he took advantage of Marcus and his mom to line his pockets with money.

  • @vinman24t Usain Bolt ran a 9.58 100 meter. to say Marcus Dupree ran a 9.5 shows u have zero common sense

  • @DoTheDanwah You have no common sense you idiot. Marcus ran a 9.5 hundred yard dash not meters. Back in the 1970's and 1980's high school sprint track meets were in yards not meters!

  • @vinman24t ur the idiot. we arent in 1980 anymore so if u r going to be using only "9.5" as a measurement of speed, then clearly refer to a unit of measure if its NOT meters as that is the standard now

  • @DoTheDanwah Marcus Dupree played football you idiot. A football field is 100 YARDS long idiot. Marcus Dupree ran a 9.5 hundred. When NFL prospects go the combine they are timed in "the forty"; not meters idiot, but yards. Only people that have knowledge of football should be allowed to post comments on this site. Clearly you are clueless. And in case you haven't heard the United States has given up on converting to the metric system, be it 1980 or 2010 idiot.

  • @vinman24t the fact that u took the time to say idiot 4 times means ur either insecure or ur possibly in a rage. so i have a question for u since u have deemed urself football god, since they always measure speed by the 40 yard dash example being Deion Sanders supposedly ran a 4.1 40, WHY r u using 100 yard stats cuz when someone says they ran a 9.5 100 that implies meters UNLESS u make it clear ur saying yards.

  • @DoTheDanwah If you watched the ESPN special about Marcus, you will hear Coach Switzer say " Marcus ran a 9.5 hundred"; anyone with common sense knows this meant 100 yards, NOT meters. If you look at your original reply to my post you used the words " u have zero common sense". It is you who has no common sense, idiot. You must be a cricket or soccer fan. Football speed is measured in yards not meters idiot.

  • @vinman24t of course it is measured in yards but in 40 yards no one ever measures in 100 yards. when u start to talk about a 100 ur talking about a 100 meter. and nah i hate soccer and cricket.

  • @DoTheDanwah You have to understand that Marcus played high school and college football in the late 70's and early 80's. I referenced his 9.5 hundred time as implied yards because that was the standard back then. When people talk about ex-Cowboy receiver Bullet Bob Hayes's 9.1 hundred it is implied as yards because many U.S. high school and college track meets in the 60's and 70's featured 60 and 100 yard dashes; not meters. Hope you watched lots of football on Thanksgiving day.

  • @vinman24t i did not know that it used to be measured in yards, thanks for the knowledge. And yeah i did, also saw Boise State's NC chances get crushed so im in post game depression

  • @vinman24t 9.5 hundrd LMAO

  • @TheShawnyoda 100 yards einstein.

  • @pharry4life WOW ur cool

  • I dont think that his love for football shouldnt be questioned. This guy played football all of his life. This guy was just a victim of money hungry preditors, plain and simple...Head case?? Wow, it is obvious that you didnt watch the documentary with an open mind..

  • I think if Switzer treated him a little better, you know ease him into the offence. They just threw the weight all on his shoulders, going from a wing to an "I" formation. Everybody knew who was gtting the ball.

And that preacher dude needs a beating!!!

  • I agree with those who say he just usually wasn't very dedicated to football. He was often overweight yet with his talent he could still play in college.

Yet when he got to the pros that talent couldn't carry him anymore. His stats were pretty awful with the Rams BUT if he was dedicated since college he could've been another Walter Payton or Barry Sanders. Maybe better!

  • Nah, he loved football. The guy had it all, just a victim of circumstance. It's a shame.

  • This guy was a total head case. It didn't matter that a Texas player hit him so hard it made him quit. He was just looking for a reason to quit. Switzer has said many times that Dupre just didn't like football. So it was better that he got out.

  • @chairman1956 He had a concussion

  • @chairman1956 he sustained a concussion and got no medical treatment?

didnt like football? he worked himself back into playing shape and won a place on the rams

    you are an idiot

  • @brabon1,,Poor Marcus..why the hell wasn't he taken straight to the hospital Coach Switzer?? Even the reporters knew he wasn't right!

  • @TCBabe1 exactly....and tons of players saw their careers end as a result of concussions

to not even get med treatment is a crime...and he got a plane? he couldve died

  • He actually played for Coach Jon Robinson and the Los Angeles Rams. He did well against the L.A. Raiders in a pre-season game. He was fast and quick off the ball. But never played a reg. game he was cut right after the pre-season. Too bad!!

  • @29LARams

He actually played a couple years for the Rams, but sparingly.

  • its a shame how he was treated at oklahoma. This kid ran his ass off for them and he was treated with so much disrespect. he seemed like a good kid who wanted to make others proud. its too bad he didnt have a male role model in his life to teach him how to be a man.

  • strongpimphand, just go to the 30for30 website and you can find the broadcast schedule.

  • ESPN needs to make it easier to see these documentaries. Their strategy is terrible concerning 'em! I have to either hope to now watch it Thursday night....or find a pirated copy.

    Thanks ESPN!

  • By far the best running back in NCAA History. Imagine him playing as a junior or senior.

  • Kinda similar story to Maurice Clarett......very sad. Mr. Dupree is a survivor and seems to be very happy with his life.

  • If you grew up in the 80's and followed football, you know how good this guy was. He never should have played for Switzer.

  • Gotta love that jheri curl!!

  • @apureterror Fuck yeah with the coke bottles too

  • LOL @ ESPN saying he "never made it to the NFL".

  • @apureterror The title is stating that his potential was unlimited and had he had the proper coachign and guidance, he would have been the best...

  • @apureterror Oh I see what you are talking about. The title above the video says "Never made it to the NFL" my bad.

  • Excellent piece. Title is wrong, he played for the LA rams a couple of years.

  • Great 30 for 30

  • @TheDubc2132 Excellent. I can't believe I have never heard of this guy before their documentary.

  • the only thing he can say now is "What if?" i dont feel sorry for him, he wouldnt want us to, but i do feel sorry for all the people he ran over in his days, this guy was a BRUTE!

  • thats sad

  • Sad indeed.

  • and oh yeah

  • fuck yall for that first second third shit
