  • Hey Hadl - Buy a vowel and wear a quarterback's number! Damn contrarian. Aw, I'm just funnin'. He was (is)? an okay dude as far as I know.

  • Nice block, Tarkenton. Youngblood would've thrown you into the cheap seats! These 2 teams playing each other was like watching the Hulk battle Thor...tough adversaries, great mix of color/design, and always a fierce battle,... just barely enough meetings to make you want more. Always looked forward to it. Even though the Rams came out on the short end many times they were still evenly matched. The current Rams need to go back to these colors.

  • @artistamisto

I became a Vikings fan simply because of thir helmet design, your an artist sir?

  • Tough game; Vikes jumped out to a 10-0 lead, and had to hold on to win 10-9; the game ended with back-to-back sacks by Sieman ( on a blitz) and Eller; McCutcheon didn't play for the Rams, which was a big break for Minnesota..

  • Damn why cant the current team have the pieces like these Vikings did Coach QB and Defense

  • I think Hadl was the last NFL QB to wear a number higher than 19. Loved old Metropolitan Stadium, especially in December.

  • @tp10488 You are right, Hadl was the last QB to wear a number higher than 19. And, I agree, old Metropolitan Stadium was a great sight to see.

  • i like the purple jerseys with nothing on the sleeves

  • If the Vikes could only play as well in those Super Bowls...

  • As a kid, I remember watching these shows on Saturday afternoons. Long before ESPN came along..thanks for posting.

  • always lost heartbreakers to that team.... Still hurts

  • The Vikings always seemed to have the Rams number in the 70's. Always close games but the Vikes would prevail. Thanks for posting these!

  • I remember reading about this game in Sports Illustrated the following week. I was just starting to watch the NFL on a regular basis at age 7, and the Vikings were my favorite team. What a struggle this was. What a rivalry.
