  • Until this new file sharing site from europe shows up in the spring, you won't be able to hear much of his original stuff. He discourages all use of his music in the vain hope more people will come to his shows. Like many another artist\record company, he's deluded as to the benefit "exposure" can be and in spite of his selfish attitudes, his original music will one day be as available on YouTube as the Beatles, no thanks to him.

  • What makes Jesse a patriot besides his contribution to the American culture is his true conviction. His feelings regarding VietNam were refreshing. He disagreed with the politics of the war which greatly contributed to the 50,000+ KIA not to mention the unresolved MIA COUNT. Best was avoiding politics in lyrics..I wish more lyricists would. Stating that he was.."..an avid democrat..but I love all republicans"..he's got to be a libra. Thanks Bob Edwards from a two tour VietNam Vet...'67-'69.

  • This was justed mentioned on NPR Sunday Morning. Good man. Patriot. Soolid. Talented. Peace.

  • just heard Jesse's Mississippi on my mind on allmemphismusic and it was awesome. But all I seem to find here are covers of it by others. Anyone know of Jesse's own thats on here, msg me please

  • Was there ever a folkie with better moves?

Watching him do "Rhumba Man" is one of the most adorable things I've ever seen.

  • So glad to see Jesse still entertaining! I hope he comes to Central Valley, CA soon, so I can see him perform Rhumba Man!

  • afringedweller: Bruce Murdoch has just put out a new CD. It's called "Matters of the Heart" w/Ron Bankley & others. You can hear some of it on YouTube under Bruce Murdoch. I'm expecting a call from him today. Sean has passed on, Chuck's out west. Check The Mudcat Cafe online...I was just with Jesse when he came to Montreal for a concert...A great artist...bob

  • I talked to Bruce @ Mudcat after he did the radio show in Mtl, but for ? reason, never could get connected @ Mudcat after that. Anyhoo, I just got B's CD online, my very first online purchase. I love As Soon As Possible, and Ron's playing is really nice on it. On Bruce's site he says Ron's doing a new CD, so have to check that out. Thanks so much.

  • One of the world's greatest songwriters just having some fun.

Memories of Montreal and The Yellow Door.

    Hi Jess: Peace & Blessings...bob/"The Silver Fox"...LOL

  • Reading this comment brings memories flooding back to me, of Bruce Murdoch, Sean Gonyea, his sister Mary (changed spelling to Gagnier), Ron Bankley, and of Course Chuck...and so many more, WoW!

  • One of the world's greatest songwriters is RIGHT, Bob! Love Jesse!

  • waldobadweather? whats sexuality got 2 do with anything! it's just another performance! Imean it's not as if he was performing a sexual act with a fellah! is it?so cut the fag bit out, and less of the adolescent badmouthing! grow up and u can leave your room when u do!

  • Please, more videos! Gentleman of Leisure is a masterpiece!

  • My favorite singer songwriter ever! His music only gets better with time. I just wish someone would post more videos of his performances! Thanks for this one! (Come South Jesse, we miss you!)

  • absolutely the best..Mr Winchester is that.

  • Jesse Winchester may be the most unknown great songwriter. Buy his "Mountain Stage" CD -- just him and his guitar singing his often ironic, and almost always lyrically beautiful, songs. He's written for some big names (such as the Judds), but I prefer him unadorned -- just Jesse. What a gifted singer-songwriter!
