One of the very few bands that stand so strong that an orchestra does not kill nor soften them down , but just seem fit in. Idiot Groslot who kills rock-bands - a Belgian mixerman again; i don't know ifhe is a pedophile actually... with his stupid Promsnight games...can remain at home and count his money. He is not making music, he is playing a little girls game of messing up great musicians.
Sorry, but the orchestra totally ruins this song. The only rock or metal bands that can pull this off are ones who already compose their music with orchestral instruments in the arrangement (via synth/keys) like Nightwish or any of the similar symphonic metal bands out there.
They, if anyone, should be given the orchestral treatment to replicate the force. Not bands like DP whose songs are perfect on their own.
@hazor777 I agree. I absolutely hate this performance. The music stood on its own. Same with the Scorpions and every other band that has tried to do this crap.
@TheWitchOvAgnesi :LMAO! I was gonna say that too, but didn't wanna seem like too much of a dick, LOL! The whole "orchestra backing" fad was a lot like the "unplugged" fad.....it basically wore it's own ass out real quick. Metallica was a perfect example of WHY NOT to use an orchestra. Metallica seems to discover multi. ways to fuck up a lotta things these days....but I forgive the Scorps. -absolutely love them. DP figured it out quick enough, I give em a pass on this one.....
@hazor777 LOL, let's not talk about Meturdica please.
I give the Scorps a pass too simply because of who they are, but I'm never going to listen to Moment of Glory ever again in my life. It took a year of listening to all of their albums and songs to eradicate that sound from my head.
And even talking about it now has me teetering on the edge of a nasty PTSD-style flashback. LOL
Good observation about this being like the "unplugged" fad too, because it certainly is.
@TheWitchOvAgnesi : LMAO! "Meturdica" <---- LOL! SO TRUE!! I think it's hilarious how Mega Death, looking back, has retained it's dignity in light of Mustaine's past with Meturdica. You mentioned 'Moment of Glory' - I remember when that album came out & the Scorps were doing a signing at a Wall Mart (of all fucking places!) in my town. I guess they figured out real fast to hold on to their integrity.
@TheWitchOvAgnesi : I will say this though: Deep Purple was the first band to record a concerto score with an orchestra,.....but IMO really didn't make it all that noteworthy in terms of quality. But shows that they were cutting edge for their time. But we all know 'IN ROCK' they are at their best.
Regardless of the personnel it's still Purple and they are comin' to my town in Feb. I'm taking my teens and twenty somethings to see a legend. Nuff said.
Been thinking for a while now that Paicey was the only credible member left in this band, but even he's lost it now he's stayed on to be a part of this shambles.
I hope they are going to swing by the US after their 2012 Canadian tour. Please come to Houston Texas for your biggest fan! Pleeeeze:) Awesome, thanks for sharing!
Sorry, I just have to post a comment again....this is AMAZING, to me......thouroghly enjoyed it!
