There's a lot of Kim hate here, and it's probably all deserved, but fact is that Thompson never managed to replicate even a small part of his Pixies fame with his solo career. He's a fantastic song writer, but he hasn't got a lot of on stage charisma. It's also a fact that the Pixies aren't the Pixies without Kim, and she can barely function now as it is. You won't see any new Pixies because Kim can't do it even if she wanted to.

she ruins everyone's fun! first, she over-boozes and causes the break-up of my favorite band ever, the PIXIES! then she ruins hope to have their discography continue. erg, i love kim's basslines and vocals, but she needs to learn to not be such a buzz-kill like that. this would've turned out to be a great Pixies song...

They did a lot to accommodate Kim, but I still love her. The only thing they didn't do was hire a counselor mediate the differences between Charles and Kim and be available in case a member fell of the wagon. David needed one and Kim looked like she was whiteknuckling it during the tour.

I'm thinking that Charles should move on and form another band with Joey and record the material. I think he would do it if there is enough support.

Frank's first two albums had songs that were done with Joey, but I'd love to see them form a new band together! That would be as good as the Pixies, because it has the things that really made up the Pixies, even though all of their efforts were necessary, I feel Frank and Joey were the top dogs of the band. I love Kim, but she isn't as essential to the Pixies as she, and a lot of people, infer her to be.
