just a tip: u never put silicon or rubber washers on screws, water would get past them and rot away ur house....

Great question: The interior collection box does NOT take up the entire cavity. Water can overflow the interior collection unit to allow it to freely drain. Cutting an additional hole in the downspout above the unit is not necessary.
