i had the shadow but the screen broke so i got the blackberry pearl 8120 and the shadow is better on the blackberry you have to pay for aim 20 dollars a month i like the shadow a lot. Now because of that Im getting the Samsung Gravity but I would get the shadow again if the Samsung Gravity wasn't out. Its weird the old blackberry pearl had aim free but the newer versions don't.

I've had this phone for 8 days and I love it. There are a few cons, but not enough to make me hate this phone. I love it and I am happy with it. Especially since the wi-fi enables you to get free internet as long as you are within your wi-fi range.

Yeah, and I have had an HTC Touch for longer than 8 days and it is thinner, lighter, faster, and it has a touch screen and WiFi, but it can also do other stuff that the shadow can't do because the Shadow has no touch screen

I just upgraded my software on my shadow. Does anyone have or know how to get the old preloaded windows media files back? Once I upgraded, the active sync didn't roll over the "Carpe Nocturne" and "Martini" windows media songs. Instead, it deleted and added the new "Avril Lavigne" and "Dave Matthews" files. Please help. I really liked the old ones better.

yeah i just bought mine a few days ago but i made sure on that wifi is free and as long as your on a wifi network email is free as well. it is a great phone but the battery life isnt amazing i have to recharge it once a night but that is average with modern smart phones. all in all a great phone glad i bought it

I don't like that the battery life is only 920 mAh. Texting, internet, using applications and talk time will drain the battery before the day is over. Therefore, you have to carry around a charger or spare battery at all times. That's no fun.

Anyway I panicked and got a blackberry curve. Its way cooler than Shadow . But Shadow also had another problem. The battery life was not too good, and the phone heated up slightly while charging+ I found it a little slower than it should have been . Anyway, I might only be convincing myself that I am not a fool,but still, the phone is not meant to belong to the smart phones category, its too ambitious and it shows that it barely makes it.

If you have a computer with Windows on it, all you have to do is hook your phone up to your computer with the cable and attachment they gave you in the box and then simply go to whatever file you're trying to download and save it on to the phone (which will appear as a separate drive).

I would say sidekick...but its not for all people. I would recommend this phone if your a comp. person. If you do thousands of text messages, IM's and if you love multi-tasking phones,sidekick.

if you wanna update a phone just install new operating sytem on the memory card but be careful if it is a touch screen phone like the htc touch cruise it would nt be so smart to install a operating sytem for a mobile whitout touch screen cause htc touch cruise does nt have any number pad outside the phone so remember to always update carefully or update save cracked updates for your phone :)

I just got my phone today and I already synced music from my laptop into the media player on the Shadow.How do I set those songs as ringtones? I tried looking in the manual and couldn't find it so for the moment I'm stuck with the built-in ringtones

If you don't know how to do this then follow these instructions:

Get on your phone and hit the "Start" button. Scroll down and select "file explorer". MOst of your songs will either be in "My Music" or "My Documents". Find the Folder that has your songs and hit "Menu-Edit-Copy". Go back and to the folder "My Ringtones" and in it paste the songs using "Menu-Edit-Paste". These songs will now show up on your list of songs you can use as your ringtone

I haven't used it (I use MSN Messenger), but it is the Oz software so it actually uses your text messages with an instant messenger interface. I don't think there is any longer a Windows Mobile stand alone client.

There are 3rd party IM clients that you could install and then use your unlimited data plan though if you had a limited number of text messages.

The one I have is Sage green, yes. There is also a brown one, but I thought the green was different. The center indicator light also lights up in green.

There is 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM, which is just about the highest you will see on Windows Mobile devices.

It comes with the A/C adapter, USB to miniUSB cable, belt clip carrying case, and a wired stereo headset.

I am testing out the Touch Dual, but so far I like the Shadow better even though the Dual has a touch screen.
