@HattieLovesCattie Thanks for the info. Many committed suicide back then coz it was the start of The Great Depression.I had one great great uncle hang himself coz he didn't want to lose his farm.He was an old bachelor.I think my Granddad inherited it and my Mother grew up there during the Great Depression. They had food but that was it.
With the the extremely decrepit condition of the house, I'm actually quite surprised by the almost uncorrupted condition of those ancient letters and newspaper adds you found.
What was the name of that song playing that sounded like it was from a musical box. I remember that song playing on a wind up clown I had and it brought back memories
@jesika1984 that music box clip was the second half of the song "Haunted Nursery" by Midnight Syndicate. I edited it down because the first half of the song could easily be it's own piece, and was way too creepy for what I wanted in my video.
That wasn't as bad a production as I initially thougt it would be.
It started out with the typical, annoying, dubbed movie music, which I had to mute. Then it went along and the music became less annoying, more specific, and the video was good. Not some teen running through the place like some scary cat. The focusing in on the dated catalogs was great. The black shoes, coat, and gloves gave it an overall fitting touch. 8 1/2 out of 10.
Just about all buildings are historical, in some aspect.
Even tho it may not be as historica as Westminster Abbey or the Catacombs of Paris, it is still quite disrespectful to "tag sit" like this. Or do you not agree?

This is absolutly brilliant. Such a shame that they take houses like this down, theyre great to go around. I used to live near an abandond mental hospital. It sufferd a fire in 2004 that took out most of the building, but the bits that were left, were brilliant to go around. It got taken down because it had begun to fall in on itself.
@claire1667 Yeah that was the old silo, and at that moment I was standing on the foundation of the barn, which is where the suicide took place in 1920.
Those old magazines looked in pretty good condition for being forty plus years old, i think that the film maker must have planted them there just for effect. Music was cool.
@brojoghost Sometimes it's best to leave items in a place that is abandoned and the person no longer with us......you never know if that person could have an attachment to it and you end up bring home his or her spirit.
thats very cool did you take any of the magazines with you, i would look around some more for them since they are so old before someone destroys them.
@Superchickenman159 previous "explorers" probably trashed the place. There are an unfortunately high number of comments from other users asking why I didn't destroy more of the house. I never feel the desire to destroy anything when I explore.
@chris8170 from reviewing the original footage (quality in the YouTube version is lost to video compression), it really just looks like light from the attic window being cast on the ceiling lath

@monsterhead13 I think it was originally built in the 1840s or early 1850s. It's along a major road that leads to a small town in my area. Unfortunately they bulldozed it, and all that is left is the windmill :(
I visit places like this every chance I get. The only thing to be scared of is the floorboards :)
I prefer doing to places like this in the winter because you can easily tell what is any animal have been in the house and could potently still be there. (Tracks in snow)
2:29 looked like a hand on your far left. Creepy house. Did you go by yourself? I would never go by myself in anny abandoned house. Were you scared? I would`ve been. You`re so brave..
I also heard, "come on" at 1:24 and "here" at 1:26 but I wonder if it's part of the spooky soundtrack? The music really sets the mood this was well done. I wish I could find a creepy old house like this to explore to bad they tore it down.
@Dreambro1 5 miles from where this video is a small 1856 family burial ground in the woods. I thought the history and graves were intriguing by themselves, but when I explored the place, nearby was a 1964 VW Bug just rusting away in the woods! It would seem that many of the trees there are less than 40 years old, so getting the car there wasn't a problem... now getting that car OUT would definitely be a problem! It's on another video of mine called "Cemetery Strolls V: The Secret of Vollmer" :)
Greetings from Afton, MN! Yes, you can see the spirit actually turn away as you get closer, at the end of the clip. Great video! I always kinda felt sorry for that ol' house.
@westwoodea I'm guessing they once attempted to restore the house. There are also painting supplies in the upper floor. Unfortunately, the house is gone now. :(
@The21jumpstreet21 right at the beginning when the camera footage trips while it's facing the silo, I am standing on the foundations of the barn, just a few feet away from where the suicide happened in 1920

Wow..That magazine was 46 years old. XD Whenever I enter an abbandoned house, I always find it interesting to look for old letters and newspapers, little scraps of evidence and information about what the person who lived there was like, or when they lived there.
