  • Is it true that the donor kidney is placed in the recipients abdomen below the liver instead of where the kidney should be? I know a rib has to be removed to remove the kidney from the donor. Thanks for your reply and keep fighting.

  • @Mutleytech so a few things, first of all great questions and thanks for the keep fighting. i will. as for organ donation, the donor has (usually) the left kidney removed, no need to remove a rib and actually now they can even do it laparoscopically, it just depends the case. and then the organ is placed in the recipients abdomen, again it just depends the case as to where, but usually in the lower right quadrant... hope this helps.. mj

  • Wow you have kidney failure? You look so lively and well, sorry to hear about it though, kidney diseases are the worst, and being being in Canada I know what the waiting list is like for stuff like this, a lot of people die just waiting, keep it up your doing great
