are white ppl not working for minimum wage ? go to a soup kitchen in Toronto and do a race check. lets try to address this issue without being rude and ignorant.alot of ppl from alot of races quit there jobs and made other huge sacrafices to join occupy. and they didnt do it to be falsly accused, degraded or resented. lets find common ground. that means meeting in the middle. nobody can be expected to bend over for anyone else. we are in this together, we are not our enemies.lets listen better!

why is it up to the "white privileged" people to incorporate people of colour. why is not up to people of colour to incorporate PEOPLE OF COLOUR.

there's no sign up sheet. if you feel more people of colour need to be at occupy, then you need to spear head that. its not racism, its not necessarily oppression, its just that many people have a lot of work to do then to hear more people just complain and complain and complain with out offering any bit of constructive criticism or any solution.

i do agree in much of what you said, and i agree that the OCCUPYTO movement doesn't represent who they state they represent. i can only relate to being marginalized in that i am gay & live in a TCHC building. person's of all colours, creeds, identities live here. BUT we are still called GHETTO. i relate from a smaller angle~like super teeny tiny small angle. i would like to project positive energy that your words are HEARD! i may be a white grrrl but i support anyone who's voice needs 2b heard

Kalmplex, I have so much respect for you. It's shocking how so many white people don't acknowledge their glaring privilege! And I say this as a white person who is doubly privileged to be able to afford being in a postsecondary environment where I'm able to take classes like Critical Race Feminisms! It just goes to show that what you say about white people having the tools to do the work and learn is absolutely true. There's no excuse for denial, and claiming ignorance is a cheap lie.

You're AWESOME for taking the time and having the guts to say what needs to be said :) ... to be completely fair and balanced - I have actually been physically assaulted for the colour of my skin (which happens to be white).. You're point is still VERY valid and exactly THE point.. As proven by the fact that I can laugh at the irony of my experience and almost guarantee that that would never happen to me at the hands of a cop. I just bring that up to increase the overall knowledge. Bless :)
